  1. I really like the app so far, but I also feel nostalgic about writing with a proper pen on proper paper. So I wondered, given the brilliant handwriting recognition of your app, wouldn’t it be possible to import handwritten text via OCR keeping the handwritten form without converting it. So I could eventually write with my stylus and eventually write on paper integrating the text seamlessly with the text written with stylus. Unfortunately there is no other application able to do this at the moment, but I think it would be something beneficial for everybody who likes the personal touch…

  2. Currently, when jumping to a different page, the “Return to Previous Page” button disappears after scrolling about half a page forward.

Often, when studying, I follow references in the text by using Goodnotes’ internal links to jump to a previous page. However, if the referenced content spans multiple pages, I need to read through those pages before returning. By the time I finish reading and attempt to go back, the “Return to Previous Page” button has already disappeared, making navigation inconvenient.

    Video example: https://gyazo.com/b84dc9cd464d2afd86dc691d23ed8d50

Alternatively, a different approach, like Kindle’s system of keeping multiple jump history records, would be even…

  3. Currently, when adding a link, the input field is pre-filled with an actual URL instead of a placeholder.
This requires manually deleting the existing text before entering a new link, which is inconvenient.

I would like the input field to display a placeholder instead of an actual URL by default. This would improve usability and streamline the process of adding links.

  4. Every Goodnotes file I bring up on my iPad has the (annoying) "Summarize" option pop up.... I do not use it, it would be great to have a "turn this off" feature. Thank you for making a great product!

  5. 複数ページのpdfデータを取り込むと、表示が不安定になります。
    書き込み中のページが突然別ページの表示に変わり切り替えができません。
    ページ数が増すと計算処理が追いつかないのかな?

  6. Lets say that I highlight some text or underline some text or handwrite something in a text box. If i move the location of the text box or make some changes in the text box, the text moves, but the highlights or handwritten text does not change accordingly. This seriously lowers the ability to work with the text box.

I guess i can use the Lasso tool to move the text box around, but i still cannot edit the text within the text box without disturbing the highlights or underlines.

  7. I’ve been using GoodNotes 6 on my iPad Air 11-inch M2 with iPadOS 18.3.2 and while I love the app’s handwriting tools and organization, there’s one feature missing that I’ve found incredibly useful in both Microsoft OneNote and Apple Notes: auto-scrolling pages. Right now, when I’m writing in GoodNotes, I have to manually drag the page to move to the next section or page, which feels clunky and interrupts my flow—especially during long note-taking sessions like lectures or brainstorming.

In both OneNote and Apple Notes, the page automatically scrolls as I write near the edge, seamlessly expanding the canvas or…

  10. • It would be really useful, if you could scroll through all of the flash card in a learning set without having to switch to the menu.
    • Furthermore, it would also be nice to hide the answers, so you can find certain informations on your flash cards faster.
    • It would be nice if you could change the background of flash cards.
    • The adaptation to smaller screens needs to be improved.

    otherwise, the tool is great!

  14. We would like if we could create a sub page to the uploaded slide, where we can add notes without covering the existed infos on the slide. It is like a notebook for the notebook.

  15. I write in a right to left language, which means every time I open a new page I have to change the direction, the font, the size and boldness.

  16. As a speaker of a right to left language, every time I open a new page I have to manually change the font, the size; the direction and the boldness (which is automatically on and I dont want it). It would be amazing to have the option to format my style once and keep it as default

  17. How accurate is GoodNotes' handwriting recognition feature for searching through your notes?

Factors Affecting Accuracy: Handwriting recognition accuracy in GoodNotes varies depending on factors like handwriting style, the clarity of the pen strokes, and the language used. If a user has very neat, uniform handwriting, the recognition will generally be more accurate. However, for more stylized or inconsistent handwriting, accuracy may decrease. For example, cursive writing might be harder to decipher compared to block letters.

  20. With the eraser tool, you could also differentiate between pen and pencil erasing, as there is currently only the option for tape or highlighter. For example, if you have marked something in a paragraph with the highlighter and at the same time noted something with the pen on the marked area, then only both can be erased at the same time and not individually
