Add space for researchers
First thank you for your priceless. application. It’s really enjoyable to take notes.
As a researcher, I need to read and annotate lots of papers. I would appreciate it if you could add a feature that allows me to write out the outline. I show it in the attachment. It will help organize and make annotation more enjoyable. Also, it gives us more space to make a connection between different articles.3 votes -

I'm a therapist, in 3 jobs, if I had an option to open a binder, then I would have 3 one for each job and each separation from the binder a client, and every time the client comes back I already have the continuation in the binder and separation from him

Mirror iPadOS-App behavior in MacOS-App when clicking Documents or Favorites
Clicking on Documents or Favorites in the MacOS-App while being deeper in their folder structures doesn't return you to their respective root folder.
I'd like to see the same behavior implemented as in the iPadOS-App where you do return to the root folder.

insert pdf files
I previously submitted feedback that it would be nice for goodnotes beta to be able to import pdf files. I got the response that this is already possible but after multiple tries and lots of googling I found out that this still isn't the case. So hereby I try again.

the preview bar does not display the updates and the notes in the page. only an empty page and it's number.

snap to original size
when resizing handwriting or images, allowing the user to snap back to the original size would be helpful as some people may only want to rotate/change orientation of the object without changing size.

Import a pdf from a link to Goodnotes
I read a lot of papers from Arxiv, which are of the form https://arxiv.org/pdf/XXXXXXXX.pdf
I would like to import a pdf to read directly from the link. Right now, I have to download the paper, store it in hard drive, import it in Goodnotes, then delete the file. This creates unnecessary steps and I have to delete the files later anyways. Would be great if I could import pdf directly from a link that links to a pdf.
In OneNote, I can directly import pdf to OneNote notebook using a Chrome extension.

Focus writing
When at uni I need as much screen real estate as possible. So the tab at the top with all the different pen options takes away too much of the screen space. It would be great if we could enter a full screen mode and be able to write while in the corner there is an option if need to bring back the toolbar.

Pointer in full screen mode
While in full screen to be able to use the laser pointer. When I study I like to be in full screen mode and to be able to circle certain words while having as much screen real estate.

Integrate Goodnotes 4 Pen to Goodnotes 5
I am one of the lucky people who is able to use Goodnotes 4 to experience the best note taking pens in the App store. ✍️
I constantly check for Goodnotes 5 updates to see if the pen experience has improved.
The biggest differences can be seen when writing the letter "S". 🖋️ The mechanism used in Goodnotes 5 almost forces the letter to fix itself 👷 while as in Goodnotes 4 its thicker while also making sure it doesn't force your handwriting a certain way.

Restore recording after crash
Audio recordings should restore themselves after a crash, app restart, etc. Competitors such as Notability already have this functionality.

Pencil, Highlighter and Shapes Tool thicknes submenu option
It would be nice to have the thicknes presets in a submenu like in one of the previous updates. It doesn‘t has to be standart but to at least the option to have it in a submenu would be nice. Ideally you‘d have up to five thicknes presets in there, so you don’t have to switch the presets thicknes. I have seven colorpresets what is just a little to wide for the space i have in the mainbar, so it would be far more comfortable to have the thicknes adjustment in a submenu so this anoying scroll thing does not…

Scribble , presets for font size
1) We can sure update scribble without a text box like we have in apple notes.
2) Also we can have three different font size presets so we can easily change font size faster. Same should be done in the fonts , like favourite fonts so that we don't have to scroll down3 votes -

As a musician I would love so much to see a tool in Goodnotes which would allow to draw perfect parallel lines for music staves in any length. The optimum would be to be able to select the number of lines drawn, from only one when needed for percussion/pure rhythm notation to five for the regular system and even up to six lines (for guitar tablature). The famous music app ForScore has this feature in pro version which works great, but the general functionality of drawing and colouring in this app is so poor, I feel GoodNotes is light years…

Improve tab spacing when typing
When using text boxes, I can only tab across the screen to a certain extent (about 1/3 of the page width) before the cursor jumps to the next line. When trying to type around embedded images or handwritten notes, it’s extremely frustrating to use the tab key only so far and then have to press and hold the space bar for the cursor to go exactly where I want. It would be great if you added the ability to use the tab key across the entire page if we wanted to instead of having the cursor move to the next…

Consider supporting devices like phones (with at least a built-in pen) too!
I see you now have Android Beta. However, you only wish to support 8-inch tablets or larger. What about people like me who use note phone for my daily studies? I write my notes on my phone and use other apps. I consider my Samsung Note 10+ a reliable note-taking app. It would be lovely if you consider also consider other note phone devices too as we also use a pen anyway and are used the size of our screens. Thanks!

Support for Shortcuts or URL schemes
We need the ability to automate the creation of notes from a shortcut - like setting the template, title, folder etc of a new note created. Check out what Bear lets you do if you need an example of good shortcut support for automating on iOS/iPadOS/macOS. Thank you!
