[Outline] Sub-Outlines / Tabs / Navigation in the notes
When I import some PDFs their outlines are imported too. I love this feature. I have noticed that when this happens, the outlines have sub-outlines to make navigating the outlines easier.
However, I can not create this in my own GoodNotes outlines. It only works when I import a PDF that already has this structure built into it.
I would like to have a feature in GoodNotes where I can create sub-outlines in my notebooks.

I work with around more than 150 pages and sometimes even till 300…there are lot of chapters and a lot of topics and subtopics …I would love if there is option of creating sub outlines which will make my life a lot easier

I'd really love a feature like this as well, I've been consolidating most of my goodnotes use to a single document so that everything is in one place and easily searchable. I try to consistently use the custom outline feature to keep it all organized, and having several different levels of collapsible suboutlines like Arianne suggests would be really helpful in improving that organization.

This feature is very crucial for pdfs with multiple pages. This sub-outline system would be very helpful for navigating the pdfs

Agreed. It would be great if I could collapse a week's worth of notes and just have them dated to make it easier to navigate.

Often times I download PDFs online and I would like to create nested outline tabs so that it's not so cluttered. For example, instead of having Chapter 1, Chapter 1.1, Chapter 1.2, Chapter 1.3, etc. have the ability to nest all sub chapters under Chapter 1. This is great for big textbooks or when I want to organize my notes. It's definitely already a feature Goodnotes 5 supports considering several PDF's have nested outline tabs, but for whatever reason, I cannot make my own nested tabs.
This can easily be done by click and dragging tabs to nest them under a parent tab.

Another thing that would be nice is a structuring overview where titles of pages can be added in different layers, like 1.title - 2.title - ... that a structured table of Contents is the result.

There is another one with this as topic. Please vote there so that we don’t divide our votes on this matter! https://feedback.goodnotes.com/forums/191274-customer-suggestions-for-goodnotes/suggestions/46191835-bookmark-toolbar

YES! I'm working on my dissertation...the amount of material I have, I've needed to set up multiple notebooks just to navigate in a semi-timely manner.

Please consider a feature where users can customize notebook outlines by enabling toggles or by enabling suboutlines.
It would make a notebook more neat and convenient when outlines can have indented suboutlines under them and/or toggles that collapse when clicked. It’s inconvenient to have to scroll a lengthy outline compared to a collapsible one.
Some PDFs I import have this feature and it creates collapsible toggles in the goodnotes outline section but when I create a notebook within goodnotes it does not give me an option to create toggles.
See attached files. The first pic is an imported pdf with outlines with collapsible toggles ( blue “>”) and the second pic is an outline I made from scratch which I wanted to customize.

Why can't user perform this with our own notes? If I upload a PDF with stacked headings, it works just fine in Goodnotes.

I would love to see an add feature to outlines where one would be able to make folders/subdivisions … for example I can create and outline for chapters in a text book, then creat subdivisions for each section of the chapter (I.e., chapter 1 *dropdown menu* 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc…)
