[Audio Recording] Rename Audio Recordings
Please make it possible to rename the audioclips.

Tap on the audio clip once to select it, then look for a small “i” icon or an options menu (usually three dots) that appears nearby. Tap on that, and you should see the rename option. If it's not immediately visible, make sure your app is updated to the latest version, as this feature was added recently. Unfortunately, GoodNotes doesn’t always explain new features well, but this should help you access the rename function quickly.

Ok, want to confirm today Goodnotes fixed this bug with a new update. To rename an audio clip just slide the clip to the left and were as before you would see just a red delete button, now you’ll have a new button to rename it.

Hey!
GoodNotes 6 recently added the option to rename audio clips but I can’t figure out (because GN never tells you how) how to do it. I tried long pressing on the audio clip or sliding to either sides but the only option I get is to delete it. Please GN: Whenever a new feature becomes available, add a small splash screen tutorial explaining or showing how to make use of the feature.
Thanks for the reply.

Literally nothing fancy. Just be able to rename the audio files recorded. How am I supposed to know what audio file 34 is?

I think renaming a recording file can help us find the audio corresponding to a certain part of a document faster and more accurately, and the retrieval point of the recording file can greatly avoid the loss of important audio files due to accidental touching.

Please audio recordings need some basically feature to be implemented, otherwise their use is almost impossible.
1 first of all, there is no point in showing in the time bar all recordings at the same time. Just show the corrent track, otherwise it is almost impossible to navigate to a specific point
2 It is equally important to have the possibility to rename the recordings. It is so difficult find the right records just from the order or the datethese 2 are the critical iussues. Other good feature may be add the possibility to export audio files, change the playback speed, edit the recordings (i.e. have the possibility to split a recording in two parts or unify 2 recordings in just one).
But please, the first two are critical. (sorry for eventual grammar errors)

I love that we can now record, but I find that having a feature to rename the audio clips would be helpful! Also, a way to restore deleted audio clips as well--in case a clip is accidentally deleted!

also, it would be much more useful that in the time bar it is shown just the current playing record, so that it is easier to find a certain spot in a record. It is crucial expecially for those, like me, who records many long lectures for a single notebook

It also crashes the whole app for me on multiple occasions, and it deletes what was recording.

For the audio recording, an option to rename the clips and also the ability to recover deleted clips!

As a student, I have a notebook for each class and like to record the lectures for especially difficult topics. I would like to be able to quickly review the audio files when studying; I think the rename feature is vital so I can quickly access a specific lecture topic without trying to figure out what day (or even what hour) the lecture was given. It will also help me organize topics.
I also think a separate space for an audio transcript would be extremely helpful for productivity. Not only does it help me quickly navigate the recording (e.g. jump to relevant timestamps, quickly extract an important point), but it would be a major help for those who may be hard of hearing or struggle to learn auditorially (such as myself). There are plenty of NLP voice-to-text models available: it is inherent in most mobile devices and plenty of word processors have integrated it.
My thought is that this transcript would exist in a separate space from the main notebook, perhaps accessible through the audio recording dropdown.

I love the new audio recording feature but find a few issues with it and potential improvements.
1. Once you’ve recorded, to play a recording it plays the first ever recording and you need to find the spot for your latest one. I think it would be more logical to automatically play the latest recording, especially for people with large notebooks who don’t want to skip through hundreds of previous audio recordings.
2. Be able to rename audio recordings or have GoodNotes use AI to rename the audio recordings (name it the title of the page, or do like voice memos where it listens to the recording to recognise a common term)
3. Make the recording UI less obvious. When recording lectures, it would be nice not to have the people around you be very aware of you recording and whatnot. A much more subtle UI like notability which indicates recording through a more subtle design, and has the recording time written really tiny, instead of expanding into a recording box with an orange icon that makes it very obvious you’re recording. I’ve had to move the toolbar to the bottom for this reason.
