[Audio Recording] Generate Audio Transcripts
Audio Transcripts—the power to turn any audio recording directly into text within your note! Capture every detail and never worry about gaps in your knowledge. Copy, paste, and search within time-stamped text, so you always have the info you need! Now available with Notability Plus
Notability has just released this feature to the market and I think it's very important to have this function for students or lectures.

Not only having the option to transcribe live but rather adding the option to have a audio files or am MP3 file transcribed within a text doc would make many students lifes easier.

It would be incredibly useful if audio recordings made on one device (e.g., an older iPad) could be transcribed later on a different, newer device (e.g., an iPhone). This feature would make GoodNotes more flexible and practical for users who work across multiple devices with different capabilities.

It would be great to have an AI-generated summary option for transcriptions from your audio recordings, just like in the image.

Please bring an AI generated summary for transcriptions from audio recordings, available on-device for M1 devices or later.

This is the only reason I have switched over to Notability. This is a critical feature.

Audio transcription just like Notability!!! I have always used Goodnotes until Notability created the transcription feature. Please add this because I want to be able to use Goodnotes again!!

Since there is an audio record feature, why not add transcription feature and AI-based auto notes generation. This way we do not need to pay for multiple apps and stick to our beloved Goodnotes for everything.

Very useful and would be very handy. Not only transcription but it would be nice to be able to add audio files from like the voice memos app to add to notes, with the ability to link the imported audio to a specific word or image to be able to reference the recording with something on the page.

Using OpenAI's Whisper model which is open sourced, Goodnotes can enhance the audio recordings done on the iPad and also feed them through OpenAI's Whisper model for on-device audio transcriptions.
This will maintain user privacy and provide unlimited transcriptions at the expense of battery life but it would be well worth it to click transcribe and have a textview in a window to the right that is synced to the time. Notability has done this and it looks fantastic.

Notability has a feature that creates transcripts from audio recordings and syncs the written notes with the transcript. I believe this feature would be incredibly useful and make Goodnotes more competitive with Notability. PLEASE make this a feature in an upcoming update!!!

I work with both audio and text. For example, when I have a lecture recording, I listen to it but I also prefer to write it down because it makes it easier for me to go back to the information. I'm not able to write down everything because it's a lot to manage but I still get tired of doing it manually. I wish I had a tool that would transcribe the audio for me and I can just copy & paste the parts that I want into my notes. I'm thinking of how Youtube automatically adds subtitles to videos and users can access the entire transcript at once if they choose to.
I'd like to upload audio recordings to GoodNotes, choose an option to automatically transcribe them, and just copy & paste the parts that I need. This would be a good resource that can really speed up my process when I'm preparing materials to study.
