Dashed Lines, Dashed Shapes, Dashed Arrows
Dashed lines
It would be so useful to add the dashed line tool for writing and geometric mode!
For mathematic, physics and scientific note it is essential having a tool like this!
Thanks
Hello, the option to create dashed lines, shapes, and arrows is already available in the app.
1) To create a dashed line:
Go to Writing Tools → Pen → Stroke Settings, then choose Dashed or Dotted. You can also adjust the pen thickness to control the density of the dashes. See the screen attached.
2) To create dashed shapes:
Go to Shapes → Stroke Settings in the floating menu. As in the first step, you can customize the style and density there.
You can also create a shape in the default style and then make it dashed. To do this, create a shape, open the Object Menu, select Stroke Settings, and customize the style. The same applies to shapes created with AutoShape.
3) To create a dashed arrow:
You can either select a dashed style directly in the Shapes menu, or create an arrow first and then customize its style in the Object Menu.
Let us know if that works for you!

I draw multiple lines with arrow head on either or both ends many, many times every day so would love an arrow tool to be added. It's so easy to draw the straight line but not to add the arrow head

Arrows are a definitely needed addition. The Shape Recognition rarely recognizes my arrow tips properly and they end up quite ugly. They are also always lines rather than filled arrow tips.
To add here, even though it might be more relevant elsewhere, we need Shape Fills as well.
We have about 75% of the functionality of 53 Paper's Think Kit. If we could get these last two elements this would be a killer function!

Some extra line types would be nice, dots, and dashes.
I'm a Plumber and use Goodnotes to draw "As Constructed" plans, for submission to the council. The ability to draw a dashed line for "new" work as opposed to solid line for "existing" work would be great. Thanks

i would love this, i use allot of bullets and arrows. I can do it just fine now but i would love to have an option to select a shape and save it as a preset that i can drop down whenever i want. Or have a drop-down list of shapes to choose from

For graph lovers it could be useful to have magnetic anchors combined with either free hand drawing or shape recognition so we can fairly easily draw clean graphs.

Not only it would be good to add a pencil style, but I would suggest to add a brush style. I find that while we have already a highlighter, the watercolor brush from "Paper" is missing in this apps. It is something I find very useful in Paper and I wish I could use it in GoodNotes as well.

For a new pencil style, I would suggest that pencil writing have their own eraser different from ink ones, so that I can erase pencil notes while I don't erase ink drawings. It is a bit more than adding notes, think about designers, they will start with a pencil drawing which they will gradually replace by ink, at the end, you erase the pencil drawings and you are left with the finished drawing.
An alternative to that is to implement layers, but it becomes slightly more complicated to implement and maybe to use (when you use pencil for writing notes you might not want to switch layers like a graphic designer would do)
