Locking Objects
Need to be able to lock individual items. In planners sometimes the layout itself is a sticker. Need to lock that so I can move the stickers above without the bottom one moving.
Thanks for your suggestion! We’re happy to share that we’ll be introducing the ability to lock objects very soon.
We’ll keep you posted once it goes live.
Stay tuned for app updates and announcements!

Elements should be able to be locked, grouped, and mirrored.

It gets sometimes disturbing. When I paste an image & want to annotate on that the image gets dragged & I have to undo everything. Consider making an option to lock the image

Another reason this would be great is since currently, when I go to edit my textbox that I want in a specific location the textbox usually ends up moving when I try to highlight text I want to edit or change the colour. Then I have to press the undo button to return the box to its original location meaning I also lose the text I had just typed/edited.

Every time I add an image (a widget or insert page) I go to type over it and it won’t let me. The image gets highlighted. You should really have an image lock feature for this.

Yes, I agree! I have a downloaded planner template from Etsy that came with so many cute stickers to customize lists, etc. However because you can't lock stickers/images, when you write over them it always tries to move the sticker to the front which makes it very tedious to have to arrange, send to back, over and over again.

Yes please! I often create diagrams and then write inside the diagram. If I need to erase, I prefer the stroke eraser for precision and efficiency. But recently, it has started erasing the shape, even if my eraser doesn’t come anywhere near the line of the shape. For example, I drew a circle, added dividing lines like a clock and then hand wrote content inside. The eraser ignores the line but erases the circle.

I wish I could lock the content or pictures I wrote with a pen. Every time I write, if I accidentally select a photo, it suddenly moves, which is inconvenient. If I could lock and unlock the photos or text I want written with a pen, this problem could be solved. Please help me.

Locking text would be SUPER helpful for iPad users. It does get frustrating when I use text and then try to draw a diagram underneath, only for it to select the text above again. When I try to put a text box underneath, it wants to select the text above after removing the spacing.
It would be extremely beneficial to lock text so it wouldn't be selected and or touched and accidentally move it with the lasso tool, editing it again, just being a huge pain overall. The lock feature could be comparable to Canva, where you can lock a "layer" after selecting it, and it will not be moved. Maybe even add a lock feature button on the toolbar, so instead of clicking on the textbox with a pop-up that appears with "unlock," you can click it and then go to the toolbar and select the unlock icon.
Please let this be the next update. I wish this weren't a big deal, but a small detail would make the difference.

I want to lock text boxes and photos.
If I put a lot of text boxes and photos, they move with the slightest touch and I need to do something about the mess on the edit screen. I really want this done now. I want the text boxes and photos to stay put. By the way, freeboard has a lock feature. -

Please add the lock image feature. It will really help when we have multiple images It’s annoying when your background is an image and you add another and you want to only move one. Thank you

Yes I agree! I would love to be able to lock images to the background of a page so that I can draw on top of it without it accidentally getting moved to the foreground and hiding the drawings. It would also make moving drawings on top of images easier. As it is now if I try to use the select tool to select lines on top of an image, the image always gets selected as well making it really difficult to move lines, which usually results in me just having to redraw the lines instead.

I’m an elementary art teacher. I made my planbook in Goodnotes. I put my seating charts in there- they are pdf docs with photos of the kids. Keep in mind I have 22 classes. I often have to modify those seating charts. It’s very clunky to import them as a new page every time. That takes multiple steps and I would love to crop the image- also I want to keep the notes, so I’d rather just drop it in as an image, crop it and put it under the notes. But then I have to modify my lasso tool to not grab images if I need to move the text. If I could lock it instead- Game Changer for me!!

It would be nice to be able to lock text boxes/ images/ stickers/ etc. to the background of the paper so that we can layer and arrange things to our liking. To enable editing of the locked item, you would have to press and hold the item, where a pop up that says "unlock/ positioning" (to adjust layering) will show.

Text boxes (that have to be placed and then annotated) often shift while using gestures; which cause annotations, such as highlighted text, to be in the wrong places. Not nly is it annoying but if it’s not caught straight away, can be problematic.
I ought to mention that having a text box deselected from the lasso tool does not always work. If I tap on the text box alone, I can still move it.

Hi! Yes, please, this would be a crucial feature. It really, really helps when trying to make organized notes with a lot of illustrations, which is the point of using a tablet as opposed to a laptop.

This would be solved with support for layers too, which I believe is a
More generalized solution that would help more people
