Locking Objects
Need to be able to lock individual items. In planners sometimes the layout itself is a sticker. Need to lock that so I can move the stickers above without the bottom one moving.
Thanks for your suggestion! We’re happy to share that we’ll be introducing the ability to lock objects very soon.
We’ll keep you posted once it goes live.
Stay tuned for app updates and announcements!

Zinnia is a simple app and has this simple ability, along with the ability to be able to turn clip art and elements into hyperlinks that link to both the document and outside links I don’t understand why Goodnotes has not got on board please please please make these features available immediately. Turning pictures and clip art into links to different pages makes it so fun and beautiful to use any e journal. I think it is essential for creativity as well. Also the original request of locking layers Like making an element or clipart look like it’s coming in and out of a box just with the ability to be able to lock certain layers!!!!! GoodNotes is a place for study and creativity and it would be more so with these features please implement ASAP!!

Good idea to highlight the necessity and that this topic has already appeared so many times.
However, I think it should be the responsibility of the Goodnotes team to see during the review process that so many topics refer to the same request and therefore implement it.

It would be nice to be able to lock photos that are imported. As when writing on top of them, for example graphs and diagrams, they can move, with all the handwriting being lost from its reference point

Add ability to add layers to a page or the ability to lock elements to prevent accidentally deleting or selecting overlapping objec(ex. highlights, text, doodles/ hand writing).

It would be great to lock an image in place so that we can select/erase images above without compromising the locked image. I hate when I go to select tool on writing I may have messed up a piece of and it takes the whole image with it. It would also help from accidentally moving the image when scrolling or lightly touching near it. It moves everything and annotations all over the place. It would be a great help especially to save the size and positioning that has already been chosen.

so they don't move around or get tapped accidentally... i love adding a lot of images to my notes via the image adder but then they don't stay in place or i accidentally move them by tapping them... i know i can turn off the 'writing' mode and use read-only but it happens while i write notes and my wrist/palm touches the image.

Being able to lock elements together to make a single image would be very handy. If you draw a son and you try to move that s unwithout certain every individual way with the last hotel you leave them behind. Moving a word you can leave behind the dot on the I or the cross bar for the T. Why can't these be lock together.? If you write on a sticker, you can move the sticker and the word stay there. What was the point of having a sticky note section? A whole pile of stickers that are sticky notes. But if you ready to stick, you know, it leaves the words behind when you move it. That makes a note entirely useless. What use is a note if the words don't stand on it

The ability to lock a textbox so that you are able to click on a link without going into edit mode…for example if I have a link to another page in my file, the textbook that contains it can be locked so that I don’t have to click into the textbox to be able to press the link. That will also prevent me from moving the textbox and accidentally deleting anything inside of it

I can't work out why this feature does not exist already - I have started using goodnotes to assist with my teaching. I am using it in the marking of student work as well as using it for general admin as well as my own note-taking etc. I often annotate an image and then accidentally move the image - trying to return an image to the same location - to line up with the annotations - is annoyingly difficult as while the image is active it also sits on top of the annotations. Please add a lock feature - or at the very least make the image transparent while you move it - that at least would help.

It’s been 5 years since this was initially requested. It has become very clear that marketing can not correctly prioritize user requirements, especially since this bug represents destruction of user data when an image with highlights/text strategically placed gets moved. Perhaps the marketing dweeb should try to understand our frustrations of constantly spending 5-10 minutes fuzzing the image back to the precise location when the image covers all the highlights/text landmarks….

Hey! It's been a right to get these image lock feature on goodnotes. When we're trying to annotate an image, it's moving every now and then by mistouches and we're loosing the annotations at the right places. Please bring this image lock feature out

Agreed, I do my homework in GoodNotes, and writing on the screenshots of the assignments is now about 60/40 for writing/moving the image when lay my hand down.
