Custom folder colors! I’m happy to have different colors to pick from, but I would love to use a color wheel for more colors like orange or different shades!

Thank you so much for sharing your suggestion! We're happy to let you know that custom folder colors is now live, with the latest Goodnotes update on Apple devices.

You can now choose any color for your folders using a full-spectrum color picker. Simply tap a folder, select Customize Color, and pick your preferred color from the color palette — or enter specific HEX values for precise color matching.

    Please implement this, it's been bothering me a lot ever since I've gotten my IPad. I like so many other features in GoodNotes but not being able to individualize folder pictures has been really annoying. It takes so much more time to find stuff. Considering how much customization you can do in this app it is really shocking that this isn't already a part of it.

    Crazy this hasn’t been a thing yet. It’d be great to be able to change colours, pictures etc to the folder to better distinguish them

    I would love to be able to write or add text on the folders icon, or have different patterns or colours. This would be helpful to quickly and easily distinguish folders from each other

    They are taking time to do it!! It should have been done a long time ago. It is something that is needed.

    It would be great, and useful for my organisation, if we could change the colours of files instead of having them all blue!

    Please add this, the folders are my reason to chose GoodNotes over Notability and organization would be so much better with the ability to color-code them!

    Colored folders on the iPad edition or folders that you can customize on the iPad edition.

    As a teacher, I completely agree. those current tabs are not helping organisational strategies when we use multiple tabs in one day

    I would love to be able to change the colors of the folders! Instead of just using the default blue color. It would definitely add to the organization !

    I don't understand the inability or unwillingness to add this feature. Good lord, Notability has the capability. For the love of all that's holy, add this feature, please.

    Please implement this! It shouldn't take much work (probably less than one hour of actual coding - maybe a bit longer due to the size of the app - I certainly understand it might be difficult but it can't be that difficult?)? Thanks!

    I chose GoodNotes over other notes writing apps because of the ability to organize my files. Having different colour folders would take this to another level! Thanks.

    please allow us to customize the folders to allow for more organization! it can be very confusing at times to have each folder being the same color. also, colored papers for notebooks! this would make note taking more customizable and fun.
