   Hello, since the Goodnotes 7.0.6 update, using the Shape tool no longer produces a horizontally snapped (0°) underline.
   • Summary: Even when drawing a straight line with the Shape tool, it no longer creates a precisely 0°-snapped underline as before.
   • Steps to reproduce:
   1. Open a document → 2) Select the Shape tool → 3) Draw a straight line under text → 4) Result: There is no horizontal snap
   • Expected behavior: The Line from the Shape tool should snap to 0° so it can be used as an underline
   • Actual behavior: No snap is applied, causing a slight tilt; with high-volume underlining this degrades alignment and speed
   • Impact: During classes I draw hundreds to thousands of underlines per day. Currently, only the Ruler guarantees perfect horizontals, which adds extra handling (placement/movement of the ruler).
   • Workarounds tried:
   • Pen + Draw & Hold → requires a hold, which slows writing
   • Ruler at 0° → ensures horizontals but slows the workflow (angle setting/repositioning)

2. Format the text and set it as the default style on mac

3. Formas geométricas y lapicero a la vez

   Antes era posible usar las formas geométricas al mismo tiempo que se usaba el lapicero (y seguir usando el mismo color). Ahora es necesario entrar al menú de formas y volver a buscar el color que se está usando.

4. Selecting is a Pain in the A

   It requires a lot of effort just to select a text and after that it’ll say selected and it takes a lot effort for it to go back to normal, its super annoying and unfriendly.
   Also the textbox needs optimisation
   It should have the option of adjust the size on its own, especially when i am copy pasting something which has a lot of text it’ll go past the borders and making it sooo difficult to resize which itself is a big pain in the A
   Like it should have an option for fit to page or u can select how big of a chat box u want similar to how we use lasso and it’ll automatically adjust the text size and formatting accordingly
   So i feel like we need something else to select the textbox to edit it
   Its happens so many times that we end up writing something and it messes up the text box

7. Anchor the floating toolbars

   Please give an option to anchor toolbars. I see lots of comments about the regular pencil tool bar and I agree with those too.

   But I want to draw attention to the tool bar that pops up when editing a text box. It move from above the text box to below the text box when the keyboard comes and goes making it annoying when it pops up right under my finger that was about to tap on another element etc. This UI UX makes it difficult to do anything fast.

   Please give the option to dock the text editor toolbar to the top like in GN5.

   See the attached video for details. This was not an issue with the way GN5 anchored the toolbar to the top.

   Please fix.

8. [Tape] Prevent Selection Mode When Using Tape

   When using tape over a marker highlight, lifting the tape automatically switches the app into selection mode. Please fix this behavior so that removing tape does not trigger selection mode.

9. Expand Pencil Grades and Add a Mechanical Pencil Tool in GoodNotes

   I would like to suggest expanding the pencil tool in GoodNotes by adding a full range of pencil hardness options, including:

   12B, 11B, 10B, 9B, 8B, 7B, 6B, 5B, 4B, 3B, 2B, B, HB, F, H, 2H, 3H, 4H, 5H, 6H, 7H, 8H, 9H, and 10H.

   In addition, it would be great to include a mechanical pencil (sharp pencil) tool, which would be especially useful for precise writing, diagrams, and technical notes.

   These additions would provide users with more realistic and flexible drawing and writing experiences, similar to traditional pencils.

10. Functions Needed

    1. The text tool should be pinned all the time and not having to pin it each time.

    2. A lock function or layer function. Noteful has this and they are significantly cheaper than goodnotes.

    3. Move the stupid back button back on the toolbar. It takes up space for my document. And covers the document. For us digital planner people the space is important.

12. [Tape] Remove Tape on PDF Export

    I love the tape feature, but it’s annoying that the PDF backups of my goodnotes files on google drive have tape on them. It’s useful if it’s in the app, but it’s not for backups. Goodnotes, please fix this! Give us an option to remove tape on backups and exports.

13. Multiple Line Highlighting

    Highlighting is very tedious on this app. I agree with the many other posts that are requesting straight line highlighting and snap to text highlighting (as an option in addition to the current highlighter). However, I would like to take the snap to text feature one step further.

    If I need to highlight 3 lines in a paragraph, I shouldn’t have to make 3 separate highlighter actions. I should only have to put my pencil on the first word, and drag it to the last word. The software should highlight everything in between. In the image I attached, I put my pencil on “the” and dragged it to “only”. The app took care of highlighting everything else.

14. Option to clear page while keeping images

    It would be very helpful to have a clear page option that removes handwriting and text but keeps inserted images intact. I frequently take pictures of suggested problems or textbook problems, and after some time i want to resolve then and get rid of my old computations and scribbles.

15. Smarter Auto-Return to Last Writing Tool

    I want to describe my workflow to clarify the feature I'm asking for. I use the Apple Pencil with Goodnotes, and when I double tap the Pencil, it switches to the eraser. After I finish erasing, Goodnotes already has an option to return to the previous tool automatically, which is great.

    The issue is that this behavior only works in some situations. I need a dedicated setting that guarantees the following:

    After I use the eraser in any way (whether through Auto-Deselect or by activating it with the Apple Pencil gesture), the app will always return to the last writing tool I used. This tool should always be the previous pen or highlighter from the Writing Tools category, no matter what non-writing tool I was using before entering the eraser.
    For example, if I was using the Laser tool, then double tapped the Pencil to switch to the eraser, the next tool should return directly to my last pen or highlighter, not back to the non-writing tool.

    This would create a much smoother workflow when moving between writing and quick corrections, without any manual tool switching.

16. Remettre bouton texte

    Remettre le bouton pour écrire du texte (au lieu de appui prolongé -> commencer à saisir, remettre le bouton qui permet de directement commencer à saisir)
    Ce serait un gain de temps énorme lors de la prise de note en cours, rédaction, etc

17. Lasso tool select all

    If you like to use the lasso tool to move - let‘s say - only textboxes, then you have to deselect all other categories manually. When you are done moving textboxes, then you want to select every category, then you have to manually turn on everything.

    It would be great, if you can turn on/off all the categories. There should be a box called „all“ on top of all categories.

18. Keep Font Menu Open for Previewing Fonts

    I wish the font menu could stay open as you preview your text or text box in various fonts, and also remember your place in the font list instead of going back to top of the custom fonts menu each time.

    Currently, the process goes as follows: select the box or the text > open the fonts menu > go to custom fonts > choose a font > font menu closes and you see what your text looks like in the selected font.

    Next, reopen the fonts menu > go to custom fonts > scroll back through the custom fonts list to find the place where you left off at > select another font > font menu closes and see what your text looks like in the selected font.

19. In-App Split Screen Feature

    With the current iPad update (Liquid glass), it makes the split screen feature FAR more volatile (closes with hand touches when writing) and reduces space available to write in (as the middle part now takes up more). It also feels very visually unpleasing, as it doesn't fill up all corners..

    It would be nice if there were an inapp version to split documents that optimizes space. It would be even NICER if we could have the main toolbar stretch along the two documents.

20. More Presets for Pens and Highlighters

    I use different colors and sizes to signify different things in my notes (ex. disease name, symptoms, risk factors, pathological findings...). I would like the option to have more presets in the toolbar rather than having to keep changing the presets because I have used all of the available ones already.
