Have the ability to not compress images
Goodnotes currently compresses images when importing them into a document. Having the ability to deactivate the compression of images will help greatly in those who import images as templates very often. Please consider making this option available while also making sure this won't lag the document.

Small, movable toolbar
Either a second toolbar like the existing one (but much smaller, less tools, and movable on the entire display) or a movable „tool-point“ which opens some customized tools.

Quick toggle/gesture between ‘read-only’ and ‘edit’ modes
I would love to see a quick toggle (like the double tap on Apple Pencil) to easily change to and from read-only mode. Maybe a gesture like the two-finger double tap for ‘undo’. This would be very helpful for being able to click hyperlinks and quickly navigating a document with many pages.

Formatting similar to google docs And word
Let’s face it, google docs is one of the best note taking apps out there but it lacks all the handwritten features GoodNotes has. I’d like to see more text formatting options so that if I did want to type out an essay, I could stay on my GoodNotes app instead of moving over towards google docs or word.
There are too many formatting options on google docs and word but I’m sure everyone is familiar with their formatting options

Convert handwriting to text automatically without having to export or copy to clipboard
Many apps automatically change your hand written notes into text but with this app, you must convert it, and then copy it to your clipboard. Afterwards, you have to lasso your hand written text and then delete it and paste the typed text into the document. Way too time consuming. Why not just select what we want converted and then automatically convert it to text?

Changing the color and thickness of lines your draw and other drawings
Say you’re drawing a graph and decide later you want to change the color of the lines for better distinction. I’d like to select that one line with the drawing tool and be given the option to change its color and thickness. Although this can be done using the lasso tool, I found that using lasso makes it difficult to isolate one line when it’s intertwined with other lines on the graph. It’d be much easier to make edits with the drawing tool. If you use notability, you’ll know what I’m talking about

Automatic Offload of Unused Notes
Automatic offloading of unused notes to iCloud. Similar to how Apple does for its apps, offloaded notes will remain visible as a thumbnail which will be downloaded locally when trying to open the note.
This would help users with limited storage space to keep storage utilisation minimal.

More powerful PDF navigator
It would be great to have a better PDF navigator like PDF Expert does. The basic functions would be:
- link support (also link within a document like the ones a LaTeX document produces.
- double pages viewing.
- possibility to show the table of content9 votes -

Import document auto resize to fit existing template
Not sure if this is possible, but it would be nice to import a pdf document into an existing note and not have it much larger than the existing pages in the note.

Ability to rotate paper
I love using the Apple Pencil. One nitpick: if we could rotate pages with 2 fingers in any direction it would be great. I tend to write at an angle with page turned slightly clockwise. Having the page be perfectly vertical or horizontal is uncomfortable after a lot of writing. Another app that does this well is Procreate.

Allow 'resize' to change the proportions of existing shapes
While creating a shape, it is possible to freely change its proportions (ie, a square into a rectangle, or a circle into an ellipse). Afterwards, however, these proportions become locked: the 'resize' function works in effect as 'rescale'. I often find, however, that I need to change them, f. example if I am using the shape to outline some handwritten text, and I add to that text. I often end up having to redraw the entire shape.
All you would need to do is to let the 'resize' option work for shapes in the same way as it already does…

Optional Angle Snap for drawing lines at correct angles
Optional (on/off or even multiples of X degrees) angle snap for lines. Example: setting: every 15 degrees, if I drew a line and held it between 28 and 32 degrees, it would automatically snap to 30 degrees. As an engineering student who draws a lot of shapes, it would be awesome.

Text bubble
Make a function like a text bubble in PDF expert.
Very useful on powerpoints where there is no place to write on top off the slides.3 votes
