  3. Shape tool color/thickness should match pen color/thickness automatically

    My app just updated, making the toolbar different. Now if I want to use the shape tool to make straight lines or something, I have to manually change every setting from size to color to match my pen tool every single time I change colors/sizes. This makes it very frustrating when I do color coded notes every single day that need me to switch between colors, line thickness, and free drawing vs straight lines constantly (as is visible in my attached screenshots).   8. The ability to rotate shapes and make them any size

    Why can't I rotate shapes? This is a very basic function of all note taking apps.

    Why can't I make shapes smaller than an arbitrary vertical size threshold? You can make shapes as skinny as you want, but you cannot make them shorter than some random limit the team(?) decided was an appropriate size.

    Not being able to make small shapes and/or rotate shapes at all severely limits my ability to take notes and make diagrams in classes like biochemistry and biology (which is probably a significant portion of your users, btw!).

    This existed in 6... why would you remove…

  10. Fix the new Textbox

    Since the new update (7.0.3) and the introduction of the new toolbar, the textbox feature has become unusable. I need to write a lot of notes for my studies using the textbox, and in the old version, once you selected the textbox tool, it stayed active until you manually switched to another tool, such as the pencil. However, since the new update, every time I finish typing in a textbox, it automatically switches back to the lasso tool. This means I have to constantly reselect the textbox, which completely disrupts my workflow. It’s becoming so frustrating that I’m seriously considering…

  11. Shape tool Stroke width Option

    I truly appreciate the new features introduced with the recent update—they’ve been very helpful. I do, however, have a small request that I believe would make the workflow even smoother.

    Currently, whenever I switch from writing to drawing shapes or lines, I need to manually adjust the stroke width each time to match my pen. This process takes a little extra time and interrupts the natural flow of writing and drawing.

  12. Language recognition in documents

    Greetings! I love using Goodnotes for taking notes in my lectures. I study in my native language (Czech) and English and I need to take notes effectively in both. However, current Goodnotes force me to set a recognition language for my documents (my native language not offered) which causes me great struggles. I am basically incapable of properly writing in Czech even with an exclusively Czech keyboard.

    Not necessarily having to choose a recognition language would be of great help. Keyboard settings does that for you already.

  13. Let us record normally without requiring “record and summarize”

    Can’t figure out a way to record without the dumb AI features. Unknowingly used all my credits in the span of an hour because I couldn’t just record audio and it forced me to do the ai summarize too. So annoying

    Stop making the app go back to the lasso tool. Every time I want a new text box I have to go back to the toolbar and select the text option. Before, you just tapped the screen and got a new text box. Bring that back.

  17. Bring back default font setting

    I’m currently using GoodNotes 7.0.1. Since the upgrade from GoodNotes 6, the font that was active at the time of the upgrade has become permanently stuck as the default for every new text box. There is no way to reset or change this default anymore.

    This is a general issue: whatever font you had selected in GoodNotes 6 (Times New Roman, Arial, etc.) is now locked in as the default in GoodNotes 7. In my case it’s even worse, because it happened to be a custom fantasy font, which makes the problem especially impractical.

    Please integrate the ios18 new notes app feature. The smart script will make me it faster and easier to write. It edits the users handwriting allowing to make it easier to read or add more and other things. Smart Script also maintains the look and feel of a user’s personal handwriting, automatically refining it in real time to be smoother, straighter, and more legible. Please I beg for this feature!!!
