  1. Please let me CANCEL the latest update. (9/29 Deterioration of Toolbar and Bookmark)

    I'm struggling with my studies right now because of the worst update ever.

    Things especially I want restored:

    ① Toolbar
    Please restore the history that was on the right side of the element, image, and sticker buttons (as shown in the image).

    ② Bookmark
    Please restore it so I can immediately see if a bookmark is attached in the top right corner, and make it easier to press.
    Also restore the bookmark section within the pages (as shown in the image).

    ③ Entire toolbar
    Please revert this area. This update brought nothing positive.

    I realize fixing everything is difficult, so…

  2. "POST-IT TABS"

    One of the major issues in relation to using a digital file, compared to a traditional paper file is that in a paper file you can attach "post-its" to relevant pages which you can then refer to when you are using that file. This is an essential tool for lawyers, for example. So that, if you are referring to a bundle of files, you can have them in front of you where you can see the protruding tabs and refer to them immediately. The visualisation of the tabs – allows for easy access to the relevant page.

  3. Infinite Canvas

    The biggest pro of digital note taking is the boundaries of traditional one and paper that it breaks.
    Studies have shown that learning efficiency and understanding of a subject is increased by higher order learning and mind mapping. For these techniques, an infinite canvas is needed.

    It would be highly appreciated if this function would be added.

  4. I hate the latest version

    I like the old toolbar better. To me, it is very ineffective to have the toolbar split up how it is now. I also hate the text box menu being constantly in the middle of the screen; it is annoying and in the way. Also, in the zoom box, you used to be able to edit shapes, and now you can't. The highlighter tool doesn't like to do a rectangle; it keeps giving me an oval, even when I explicitly draw rectangles. Also, if you are recording, it doesn't like to let you look at all the pages; it keeps…

  5. The new update (Oct 2025) has terrible toolbar

    The new update (Oct 2025) introduced a new terrible toolbar that is unsuable. It is irritating, takes up more Space, hides important features and is unintuitiv. bring back the old toolbar or at least make that an option.

  7. Revert from recent update to goodnotes 6

    I do not like the interface updates of the most recent update 7.0.0 and 7.0.1 and the new features and tool processes interrupt my established workflow. I want there to be a reverting feature, like the one introduced in Goodnotes 6 to go back to Goodnotes 5. I just want my Goodnotes 6 interface back, I do not like the changes and don't think I should've been forced to update without any notification of the coming update.

  8. Switch back to GoodNotes 6

    Can we have the option to downgrade from the new GoodNotes (7) back to GoodNotes 6 like there’s the option to go back to 5? I’ve loved GoodNotes for years and it’s the thing I use most on my iPad, but the tool bar and other small design changes make it so much harder to use and it’s making me want to quit this app

  9. Request for Improvement: GoodNotes Highlight Feature

    I’m a GoodNotes user and I find it incredibly useful. However, there’s one feature I’d like to see improved. When using the highlighter, I wish the ends were squared off instead of rounded. I believe this could be easily resolved by simply adding a pen style option. I’d like to ask if this is something that could be updated.

  10. Give us old toolbar back please!

    New toolbar is in the way, not customizable, bookmark is gone, and new audio recording gets in the way. I just want my old UI back please.

  11. Tool Bar customization after the latest update

    After the latest update, the tools are divided into categories. This restricted how much you can customize the tool bar. Can a feature be added so that the tools within each category can be customized? (i.e. reordered, removed)

  12. Revert the update and try again

    Old tool bar was much more intuitive and customizable. It was customizable AT ALL. Now, it disregards the users’ own input into their own work habits. The shapes tool or snap to shape tool now much more restrictive, i.e. rigid shapes and unerasable permanent background colors.

  13. Let us go back to the old version or change the toolbar

    Honestly its really frustrating since all my notes are on goodnotes. Please get rid of the new toolbar and bring back the old one. Its horrible and before i had no motivation to do my work, now i definitely dont.
    1 - Change the toolbar back to its former glory
    2 - When typing on documents it doesnt let us change the font anymore when typing full page whereas prior update we could change the font. Allow us to change the font please.
    3 - If this is somewhat not possible let us update un-update our goodnotes to the old…

  14. Bring back old tool bar

    The new tool bar is so hard to navigate. It’s so frustrating when you’re just trying to write your notes and now you have to deal with a complicated tool bar . There was nothing wrong with the old one matter of fact I loved it . At least give us the option to switch tool bars so that we can choose for ourselves.

  15. put the toolbar back the way it was

    literally why rearrange the entire toolbar, mind you i pay for this app. i am literally so distraught why would you rearrange the toolbar i dont know up from down and i was already stressed about school and this is not helping. pls give me my old toolbar back or i"ll cry

  16. Please go back to old toolbar + stop auto scrolling for transcripts

    so annoying that i have to manually select the text box every time! also why do i have to click out and click back in just to redrag and resize my text boxes?!?! also pleaseeee stop making the transcript window auto zoom to the bottom every second while its recording like sometimes i want to go back in and see what my prof is saying while i’m still in class but i literally cant because it just zooms back to the bottom

  17. Rectangle (Industry standard) highlighter

    Rectangle professional looking highlighter. Like in microsoft word, adobe acrobat reader or apple books.
    Current one looks unprofessional with business or legal documents.

  19. Restore the tool bar

    Restore tool bar previous to 10/2025 update.

    Bring back book mark and ruler in the tool bar

    Infact just give me back the functional tool bar.

    You can still make it move but then don’t have it take up double the space

    Most importantly bring back my tools in the tool bar the way it was

  20. Why does Goodnotes automatically change back to a lasso when I click on the text input, in the windows or website version?

    Before upgrading to version 7.0, everything was fine.
    But now, every time I want to add a new text box, I have to manually select the text tool again, because after adding one, it automatically switches back to the lasso tool.
    This behavior is very inefficient and slows down my workflow.
    The previous versions didn’t have this issue, and I hope you can bring back the old behavior or at least provide a setting to turn off the automatic switch.
