Different "preset" shapes and define "custom" shapes
We should be able to add shapes from a predefined set of shapes from the developers. Plus we should be able to save our own custom shapes like for eg a rectangle with different length and breadth or a elliptical shapes etc

Yeah, cuz Apple already has this feature with the pencil, where we can hold to snap into a shape, and this is just a repetitive feature in goodnotes. Choosing from a preset shape library would be so helpful. For reference, the excel shape library, as a basic and customized library for subject specific, which we can choose, whether to enable or not, like for chemistry, or math, or biology.

Preset of basic shapes it is a must, and it's forcing me to move to other apps.

This and a way to drag to change the dimensions ourselves would be amazing!

Yes I agree that an easy way to choose or force “regular” polygons would be useful. When I try to draw squares and circles I still often get trapezoids and ellipses, even in 5.6.0

And maybe include preset graphing-axis lines for drawing 2D and 3D graphs.

It will be much helpful to
-add a shape from one spot and scale it, like PDF feature, expecially standard shapes like square, circle... Instead of actual draw one.
-different line type and arrow type
-separate the fill color function, currently fill can choose come with shape or without, but once fill is deleted after drawing, cannot add it back, there should be a button of 'click-fill' -

I am not so much concerned with predefining my own shapes, but having standard scalable shapes like squares, circles, ovals, diamonds and triangles would be a huge help.

basic shapes (square, circle, triangle, custom), that are scalable (ie the line thickness doesn't change) would be a great feature.
