Please please add this layer locking ability to goodnotes app. I have been playing around with Noteful and love it, but love goodnotes inferface more.
I am a digital planner and have used goodnotes 4-6 versions, and am frustrated….please add!

C’mon every one of your direct competitors has offered this feature for years. It’s time to make it happen. Stop rearranging buttons and calling it an upgrade. This isn’t about appearance; it’s about functionality.

You are about to lose a customer, and I have already been advising all my colleagues not to use Goodnotes due to its lack of locking items and fake "layers". We use all of these, and you seem unwilling to listen. I am trying out your competitors, which offer these features, and are listening to their customers and have been l needs and desires for a great tablet app.

If you did this layer and locking feature, I will not leave for the competition. This would keep me. I have been asking for this for 4 years!

This would be really helpful it is incredibly frustrating to try to add text to widgets or stickers for planners. It always selects the image and not the text box and I'm forever having to send it to the back. Makes it really not enjoyable to use.

I have switched to Noteful as well, mainly because Goodnotes lacks this feature but also because it lacks the ability to change transparency of items in different layers so that I can achieve a nice layering effect on my journal and planner pages.

Being able to see what layer is where like in procreate or canva, and then move accordingly to where you want, and also being able to just lasso highlighter, just like there's a feature to just erase highlighter

i would make the layers applicable to anything, so it's not just comments. so if you are working on a sketch you can have line work on one layer, colored pencil or marker on another layer. that way you can erase and edit one part without messing up the other.

Yes! This would be super helpful for doing homework and taking notes.

Please add this feature. A lot of people are leaving good notes because it is so frustrating for new users. It takes a very long time to create a document or to even plan because you can’t lock stickers or layers or words.

Love GoodNotes 6 for journaling! Please add layering, lock/unlock, and group/ungroup. Layers to stack/reorder images and stickers, lock/unlock to stop accidental moves, and group/ungroup to move multiple elements together. These would make planning and creative work smoother. Thanks for considering!

Layers are critical in digital note taking. You’d get more subscribers if this feature was available.

I’d love to have this for musical score study. I could do harmonic analysis on one layer, thematic analysis on another, and notes for performance on another… so it’s not just useful for drawing!

Why the developer take very long time just to add lock image and layers? I love goodnote, paid for it, but now I am considering to move to other app if goodnote doesnt add and fix this situation

I started using Noteful because they had this feature! It is such a game changer when doing digital planning. Please add this as soon as possible, would love to come back and use Goodnotes, but those layers are a necessity. With the ability to add as many layers as we want, rename them, lock them, and unlock, and hide or unhide.

This is the one reason I also have Noteful on my iPad. When I’m marking up pdf drawings and diagrams for work, or home improvements, this is essential. I would be able to do _everything_ in Goodnotes if this feature was added.

Layers in GoodNotes would be the biggest game changer for me and many. I use GoodNotes for purposes even beyond notes- drawing/sketching/music engraving even. Layers would speed up and enhance my process sooo much. Please :))
