Lock Objects
Need to be able to lock individual items. In planners sometimes the layout itself is a sticker. Need to lock that so I can move the stickers above without the bottom one moving.
[Lock Objects is live 🎉]
Hello,
Thank you so much for sharing your suggestion! We're happy to let you know that Lock Objects is now live across on Apple, Android, Windows, and Web.
Lock Objects lets you secure images, text, shapes, and sticky notes so they can't be moved or deleted by accident.
For more details, please check out this article.
To get access on iOS, update to app version 7.0.30. After updating your app, please refresh it to see the latest features.
The feature is available on all plans (Free, Essential, Pro and Special Edition).
Feel free to share your feedback and let us know how the feature works for you! For additional feature improvements, suggest your ideas in the separate threads.

This would be really helpful it is incredibly frustrating to try to add text to widgets or stickers for planners. It always selects the image and not the text box and I'm forever having to send it to the back. Makes it really not enjoyable to use.

GoodNotes does not have a feature to individually lock elements on a page, such as shapes, text boxes, or images. While you can lock entire documents with a password in GoodNotes 6 (on iOS), there's no way to lock specific elements within a page to prevent accidental selection or movement when using the lasso tool or making other edits.Â

This also is a problem for me. I just want to not select the image with tap so my palm doesn't accidently move the image.

Yes please!! I made handwriting notes on photos and want to move the texts around without moving to images below.

YES!!! This feature would be super helpful. As a college student, I love taking notes directly on the slides my professors provide, but I like to add my own lines to write on. Because I created the lines however, it makes it incredibly difficult to move my handwriting around from one line to another without moving the lines as well. If I could “lock” the lines, it would allow me to select my handwriting more easily.
I have been using Goodnotes for 2 years, and I love it, but I have been wanting this feature to be added for the longest time. It would be a game changer for me!

Please add this feature. A lot of people are leaving Goodnotes because it is frustrating to not be able to work without images or text being moved around. We need the ability to lock layers, text, and images.

Please please add this feature. It is very frustrating, when planning, for back layers and stickers to disappear. It makes planning timely and very frustrating. A lot of new people leave goodnotes because of this.

The ability to lock an item such as an element to the page so that it isn’t selected by mistake would be incredibly beneficial. The palm rejection is hit or miss, it is becoming increasingly obnoxious when I am writing and an element I placed down to act as a sticky note or to-do list is selected out of nowhere, outside of the lasso tool I have not seen any kind of option to turn this off. Having the capability to simply lock an element to a page so that it can’t be moved would alleviate that issue, as well as diminish some of the back and forth when it comes to the lasso tool. For folks like me who create their planner pages entirely with elements this would be a crucial function.

Hi
With respect ,
Currently i am a permanent user of goodnotes 6 . So i have a suggestion that will help in my privacy , the suggestion is regarding to add a feature in the app to lock full folder instead of documents one by one which take long time . So if this feature add in the app it will be very helpful for the user to put his/her personal documents in one folder with privacy lock .
Thanks . -

Elements should be able to be locked, grouped, and mirrored.

It gets sometimes disturbing. When I paste an image & want to annotate on that the image gets dragged & I have to undo everything. Consider making an option to lock the image

Another reason this would be great is since currently, when I go to edit my textbox that I want in a specific location the textbox usually ends up moving when I try to highlight text I want to edit or change the colour. Then I have to press the undo button to return the box to its original location meaning I also lose the text I had just typed/edited.

Every time I add an image (a widget or insert page) I go to type over it and it won’t let me. The image gets highlighted. You should really have an image lock feature for this.

Yes, I agree! I have a downloaded planner template from Etsy that came with so many cute stickers to customize lists, etc. However because you can't lock stickers/images, when you write over them it always tries to move the sticker to the front which makes it very tedious to have to arrange, send to back, over and over again.
