Implement a splitscreen option.

The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.

We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).

With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.

How to open a new window:

You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:

- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar

You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

    It's awful! I'm using goodnotes for teaching, but an unable to upload the files on blackboard, because they are so large!

    I doubt if they really want or plan to do the feature update. Look, splitscreen is the first and also the fourth most voted request on this site. Since 2014, there are more than 10k votes. Nothing happens though. Notability has both the screensplit feature and record feature, sorry but I think I’m gonna use the alternative. I’m not very comfortable when customers are consistently ignored.

    Yes, I just started using Goodnotes and didn't know that things would take up so much space, I'm getting worried.

    I teach from the iPad (i.e. I project the display through the overhead projectors). It would be great, at times, to be able to show the problem details on 1/2 the screen, and work through the problems on the other side. However, I would want this to be an "option" and not an "always" feature. There are times when I really need the whole screen (single page) blown up to its maximum size on the projection.
