Implement a splitscreen option.
The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.
We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar
You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

I don't know if by this you mean opening 2 different documents at the same time, that would be awesome!

The new possibility to edit and draw in Goodnotes for Mac is GREAT. However, my use case is that I very often use the straight shape-tool for the pen and the highlighter, for example while highlighting text in a PDF document. This could for example be solved by adding the possibility to press "Shift" while drawing, as in some other PDF annotating tools.

Yes I like this thought, so that if I need to be copying something from one page to another, I don't have to be flicking back and forth. Also say I have a graph on one page and I am writing it's inter[retaion on another, this feature of have to view multiple pages side by side would be very useful

I don't need other apps I just want two pages side by side! I can only view one slide at a time it would be so much easier in lectures to have the lecture slide and then the blank page below.

I'd love the ability to edit/view two PDFs side by side, not just two pages.

Here's to hoping that iOS 10 adds the ability to open more than one instance of apps. I'd rather the OS solve this problem than every app individually!

Absolutely
We don't want to have to open another PDF viewer to make read a document and take notes in another one!
Thanks -

I feel it would be more efficient to be able to place the tool bar on the righr, or left for laft handed writers. I would also like to see a dedicated delete button to use with the lasso tool, making it a two step process instead of 3.

Every day, when I meet domes clients I take notes on my good notes iPhone or iPad app. It would be magical, if I was able to sync some notes (or all notes) that I take thru my business Box.com account to save and share instantly those notes with my partners.
The possibility to be able to go back from any other device Into the business box.com account and continue taking some notes for any project would be a lot better than iCloud syncing.
I admit that iCloud syncing for personal needs is way easier, but it's too limited by the fact that for example, I can't take notes on my iPhone and continue them onto my wife's iPad, only because she use her own iCloud account...
It wouldn't be a problem of two ways syncing was possible with Box.com or Dropbox account... -
