Keyboard Shortcut to Return HOME
I find I am always looking to go BACK to the HOME or FOLDER LIST and would like a shortcut key (i.e., CMD+___) to quickly go back a page. So for instance, I want to open several documents under a folder. I’m using the HOME button AND would like a keyboard shortcut to make that happen.

Please let us write notes to the side of PDF documents or powerpoints !!
Let us write notes next to the slides, like you can do in OneNote. It is absolutely crucial for students, especially when teachers write a lot on their PowerPoints. I love GoodNotes but I keep thinking about switching to OneNote because of this feature.

Change Pages to the Top
The page preview thumbnails are so small you can't really make out details, and the size of the thumbnails or the sidebar can't be customized. That makes it hard enough to navigate a notebook if you don't have an outline structure in place as it is, then then changing pages when you're in a zoomed in view kicks you over to the selected page at the center of the destination page.
It gets annoying having to manually scroll up to verify the page title each time you move throughout the contents of a notebook.

writing improvements when typing
Something I have noticed when typing out paragraphs, is that sometimes good notes will auto finish a word without me pressing space or tab for example and just inserts the whole word whilst I'm typing. Lets say I am writing While and start writing the first two letters, it will auto finish the word but I keep writing in the middle of the word so it becomes really weird; like this WHwhile I am doing thisILE, The capital letters is what good notes automatically wrote for me

Use OpenAI API (ChatGPT) with Goodnotes AI feature
A feature that would allow users to use their own OpenAI API (ChatGPT) to interact with their notes could be helpful. GoodNotes has been rolling out the Goodnotes AI feature, but the FAQ says that you can't increase the usage quota (which is set to 30 messages). The issue with this is I consume 30 messages limit within a few hours 🙁, so I have to ultimately switch apps back and forth (GoodNotes and ChatGPT).

Sync Windows with iOS version
I can't edit the iPad notes on the Windows PC because GoodNotes Windows doesn't sync with iOS.
Maybe it's possible to implement a system where users can sync their notes between GoodNotes client using other cloud storage platforms (OneDrive, GDrive etc.)

Pen Gestures in Zoom Window
Add the capability to use pen gestures(i.e. scribble to erase) in the zoom window. This would make writing notes in the zoom window much more convenient as you can use both the quicker gestures without changing tools and be zoomed in!

Option to Apply AI-Enhanced Handwriting to Correctly Spelled Words
I would like to request the addition of a feature in Goodnotes 6 that allows users to apply the AI-enhanced handwriting to correctly spelled words, not just the misspelled ones that are automatically corrected by the current "Spellcheck" function. The existing AI-powered writing aid significantly improves legibility while maintaining the writer's unique style, but currently activates only when a spelling mistake is made. Introducing an opt-in setting to extend this AI-enhancement to all handwritten words, regardless of their spelling accuracy, would offer users the benefit of consistently legible and polished notes, thereby enriching the overall Goodnotes 6 experience.

Lasso to perfect handwriting
The AI lasso tool is used to spellcheck any words you may have misspelled, but what if it could improve your handwriting. I’ve found that as I write, there are a lot of inconsistencies in my handwriting. If you could add a baseline for each character (number/letters) and lasso over any words to improve the quality of handwriting that would be so cool.

Structure
When I switch from the document editor to the view of the structure, I would like to see at once the line in the structure which is equal to the page in the document, which I am about to edit.
In the mini-page-view this works already. In the structure view of the document, I miss it.1 vote -

Code blocks
Many engineering, computer and data science, maths, and other technical degrees do a great deal of programming. I love writing all my notes in Goodnotes, but all my code snippets are all over the place. Sometimes I do try incorporate code blocks in my notes, but the process of screenshotting, cropping, and pasting is a hassle. Having a feature (even one that can be downloaded) would be a massive convenience for a lot of users. Just a basic block that can be inserted into a note that displays a filename space. The tools tab can be loaded with, say, three options of programming languages that can be conveniently switched between for correct syntax highlighting. Obviously, no error messages are needed as you're not compiling a program. This would be a really cool feature and help centralize my studying to one app.

Need for more, better document editing tools
I think many people here agree the app does most of what you’d expect from it, but not everything.
In my opinion, one of the biggest drawbacks is the lack of precise, accurate document editing tools… im saying, for example:
- Rotation and resizing; lemme expand. First of all, make them separate. i dont want to change the size of something accidentally when resizing it, or vice versa. moreover, the option to do so its very tedious to reach, everytime, as it means lassoing everything, holding, clicking resize. its not practical, and the option to not change line thickness but only proportions is missing, which would be so useful.
- Grid snapping, better object snapping, more advanced curve tool (add grab points). Its really hard now to make, for example, very precise graphs, as theres no aid in precision, as of being true to scale, when drawing your lines while making sure the right dimensions are used for the user’s needs. I’m personally a STEM high schooler, so this makes me think of graphs, functions, geometrical drawings, which are all really hard to get just right.
- Some kind of community shared object library, pre drawn object people can just download, customize, adapt/edit and use right away, with easy, practicality. Its mandatory for the editor to be REALLY flexible, as otherwise the whole purpose its defeaten. Think of it as sort of a revamped sticker system, in which instead of images, drawings are imported.I think many people here agree the app does most of what you’d expect from it, but not everything.

Shift screen
I want to be able to shift a document beyond the paper’s edge. I’m not always writing at a desk, so I’ll have no hand support when I get to the edge of a page. If I could shift the page’s border towards the center of the screen, I could use the iPad as a hand brace and better utilize the whole page.

ideas / bug fixes
- the duplicate function and the ability to move things through pages… you can move things through pages only with the lasso tool. So ,for example, when you duplicate something you can’t immediately move it in another page because isn’t selected with the lasso tool.
- Typed text (function between handwriting and audio): Create a to-do list, a toggle list) (as with Notability).
- Free text field: create squared/lined/dotted text field backgrounds (as with Notability)
- Automatic dark mode, which, for example, automatically adjusts the font to the dark / light background (as with Notability)
