Roman numerals & Unnumbered Pages
The book I am studying has Roman numerals (I-II-III) at the beginning. Then, Arabic numerals would start (1-2-3). What’s frustrating is when I want to search for Arabic numeral page “14” in GoodNotes, it’ll take me to Arabic numeral page “2” instead.
I attached a photo.
Adding the option to renumber pages to Roman numerals would help this make page searching that much easier. Adding the option to unnumbered pages would help too! Sometimes I add regular notebook page in-between the other pages in order to write my own detailed notes.
I attached a mock-up of how the thumbnails tab would look like with this feature. I hope it gets implemented!!
P.S. unnumbered could be blank without any numbers/text under them.

Move "Go To Page"
In the "More" (i.e. ...) section, we can see the current page number and it would be practical to have "Go To Page" just below. I also wish to suggest adding some space, perhaps a section title, and group together "Clear Page" and "Move Page to Trash". I very frequently use "Go To Page" and always have to be careful to be precise so I don't accidentally press "Clear Page".

Too much RAM usage
GoodNotes takes several gigabytes (sometimes more than 10 gigs) of RAM on my computer for just 5 documents. These are not fancy documents, just one note with 17 pages, one grayscale textbook PDF around 400 pages, and 3 more notes with about 5 pages each. This definitely should be fixed. This happens when the GoodNotes is running for several days, and seems like GoodNotes will never release acquired RAM, which is something any programmer should have learned in his/her Introduction to Programing course. Chrome, which is famous for its RAM consumption, "only" (I used the word loosely, comparing to GoodNotes with 5 pages opened using 11 gigs) uses 12 gigs with about 45 opened tabs.

radical
Please add the square root symbol (aka the radical) to the recognized shapes so when you draw one freehand it snaps to the correct shape. It can be difficult drawing one without the top part getting squiggly. (tags: math, algebra, calculus, statistics, science, engineering, shapes)

Highlighter Curve Toggle (Straight Lines Only)
Please add a toggle to highlighter to disable converting drawn lines to rounded curves (Not to toggle shapes in general, just, like, boomerang shapes).
I use GoodNotes for all my text book reading, annotating, and long text and drawing heavy physics homework assignments. My hand isn't the most steady and one of my biggest frustrations when using the highlighter with "Draw in Straight Line" toggle activated is when an actual ~1/3 of all my highlighted lines turn into swoopy curves instead of straight lines; which I then need to undo and redraw at least one more time instead of continuing reading. I love this app and this is something that frustrates me all the time. Thanks for your consideration.

Math paper templates
It would be good to have some more versatile, mathematical or scientific paper templates. For example, a split page (similar to a Cornell note-taking), where one side is ruled and the other is graph paper. Perhaps, a graph section on the top half, and a ruled or blank section underneath where one could add notes or symbolic work. Also, paired with this suggestion is the echo to add math conversion tools, converting to a display equation with LaTeX. This is the only reason I may choose Notability over Good Notes to use to deliver class notes when teaching. Sadly, in almost all other ways, Good Notes is a better tool I think, but the math conversion and edibility tool as an in-app purchase makes Notability more usable for teaching mathematics.

Color coded tabs for different notes.
Would be great to be able to change the colour of different notebook tabs to speed up switching between them. When I study, I only close tabs after the course is finished so I sometimes have 20+ tabs open at a time. Would be awesome if I could, for example, have lecture slides in one colour, reference notes another and notebooks in yet another etc. or different modules in different colours.

Files moved to trash bin tries to be reopened when GoodNotes is opened again
Bug: When a pdf file was the last one I opened and then I moved it to the trash bin, it tries to be reopened and throws error when I open GoodNotes app again.
Solution: Make sure the deleted file is also closed, preventing it to try to be reopened as the last one I edited when GoodNotes app is opened again.

Insert Line option
Would be nice to have an "insert line" option/feature like in Apple notes. It's frustrating not being able to go back and add additional notes to certain pages.

Color variation in pen stroke
Especially with the fountain or brush pen, some darkening of the color on a downstroke or with more pressure applied so it looks more like those pens in real life. Kind of like in the example, which came from procreate

Tool/line for writing straight
An setting u can turn on so that if u start writing something a TEMPORARY straight line appears underneath your text that u can then write on. That way even if u are writing on blank paper (for example powerpoint slides), you can still write in a straight line. When u stop writing the line disappears (after approximately 5 seconds so you can lift your pencil up for a space between words in one sentence)
This would be a very small but truly amazing feature!

Less clicks for insert landscape page
in the other templates section the portrait / landscape - chooser should be a toggle-switch (safe one click)
The appearance should be pre-selected to the previous page (safe one click in most cases)

Toggle for Scrolling Direction instead of diving in the menu
I often need to change scrolling direction due to the fact that this setting cannot be applied to each document independently.
Therefore, it would really help if the scrolling direction menu item was a simple toggle button, which would make perfect sense since there are only two options and so it is totally unnecessary to dive further in the menu settings to be able to change it.2 votes -
There should be an option to import other brushes.
That option would be good for everyone since we would use it for lettering, to put other types of brushes… In the same tab where the pencil is located, where you can choose a brush, an option should appear: + add brush. + add brush should be found with pen styles. instead of being: fountain pen, ballpoint pen and brush pen. It would be: + add brush, fountain pen, ballpoint pen and brush pen. Final results would be photo.
