Tips to make your suggestion visible and bring your idea to life:

  • Search existing threads. Your idea might already be under discussion. If so, feel free to add your input or vote on it. More votes = more visibility.
  • Create a new thread if it’s new. If your suggestion is unique, start a new thread. Write a short, clear headline that quickly conveys your main idea, and include context and details in the description.
  • Separate multiple ideas. If you have several suggestions, split them into individual topics so we can review (and others can vote on) each one more effectively.

  2. It would be nice to have the ability to digit text on the whole page so that it gets aligned automatically to the template rows (I always use the squared template), kinda like in word. I’d rather use only GoodNotes to take notes instead of writing the whole thing on word and then importing it in GoodNotes because I would have a lot more flexibility with the pen and all the other GoodNotes functions. However, with the text tool as it is now, you can only write in the text box which you can move and align to the margins…

  3. The extra menu bars and tab names just take up much needed screen real estate specially on the budget ipads with not so huge screens. While reading a book, the most i need is just my tool palette so i can highlight occasionally. Other things are just distracting and rarely needed!

  6. Hi i think it would be so great if there was a tab to view highlights and notes made on a document. I love to use GoodNotes for my textbooks or pdfs professors give and i annotate on them a lot but it is so hard finding where i highlighted something or noted something because i have to scroll through the document. Sometimes my documents are 100 pages long and takes to long to find where something is highlighted

  7. It would be amazing if you could select which notecards to study. Sometimes, you only need to study a few.

  8. It would be very helpful for an API of some sort to be exposed, so developers could make various plugins.
    A few ideas:
    - Programmable notes (Useful for maths - insert difficult sigma sums, calculations etc)
    - Ability to tap into handwriting recognition (recognise chemicals, equations, etc)
    - Siri/ shortcut support
    - Custom shape snapping
    - Themes

I'm sure there are more things developers could do with this ability. Take VSCode for instance. Granted it was built from the beginning to be easily modified, but their plugin ecosystem is incredible.

  11. Good notes is one of the most frequently used app in my medicine department for taking notes etc. but tool bar on good notes is very large & space consuming , If good notes team make this tool bar smaller less space consuming it will improve writing experience and give more room for writing things

  12. Hello. In notability there is a feature that I miss in GoodNotes 5. In Notability after you wrote with Apple Pencil you can change the style, line width, line style and color. In GoodNotes you can only change the color. It would be important to be able to change the thickness and style of the line as well. Thanks.

  13. When I import some PDFs their outlines are imported too. I love this feature. I have noticed that when this happens, the outlines have sub-outlines to make navigating the outlines easier.

However, I can not create this in my own GoodNotes outlines. It only works when I import a PDF that already has this structure built into it.

I would like to have a feature in GoodNotes where I can create sub-outlines in my notebooks.

  14. Often, I want to rotate an object but want to it stay the same size. It would be nice to lock the size when rotating. A similar function to lock rotation when resizing would also be very nice.

  15. There's nothing more satisfying than having calendar templates that actually integrate with most common calendar formats (at least google calendar or Apple iCloud Calendar).
Some awesome functionality:I would like to DRAW the length of an event and have that correspond to the assigned duration of the event, have Apple Calendar display my written notes on the calendar (similarly to how Apple Notes does it), have some advanced notational features that translate into editing notes or stuff in the calendar.

Or at least have a weekly or monthly planner template that also allows some "add to calendar" functionality or "get a…

  17. As I work often with large PDF documents I miss a feature where I can only see the pages I made marks on to reread or print.
Notability has such a feature, would be great if you could integrate that, can not always search hundrets of pages for markings.

Read a few similar requests online.

The feature sould be kind of „show only pages with marks on“ and so you dont see the hundrets of pages of a PDF but only the ones of the script where you made annotations on.

  18. There are times we need to move all of our notes from one page to another. There should be a keystroke (such as Cmd-A... Mac) to Select All data entered on a page so it can be quickly copied/pasted.

  19. Just like the title says. App should automatically capitalize first letter of each word of the outline just like it does for notebook names. Or at least there should be an option in settings.
