"View Only" sharing
Share the link to a Notebook or pdf that I can share to students as View Only. Perhaps even a whole folder.
I regularly share my Notebooks before I annotate on them to encourage students who do have Goodnotes to make their own notes, but having to select the pages of the notebook that I have been through in a lesson to then share to google drive or google classroom each time can be very time consuming.
Having the same system as the share to collaborate except making it view only would be so useful as a teacher.2 votes -

Feature Reqest - Linking Pages Through line drawings In muti Window Format just like liquid text
It will so useful to link 2 piece of information from different books like other app like liquid text , it will make the app into more active learning app

Pencil tool – darkness & tilt sensitivity
Hi GoodNotes Team,
I’d like to suggest a few improvements for the pencil tool:
1. Stroke darkness:
The pencil looks too light even with normal pressure. It would be helpful to have an option to adjust the stroke darkness or opacity.
2. Tilt sensitivity:
The writing changes too much depending on the Apple Pencil’s angle. It would be great to allow users to adjust tilt sensitivity to fit their writing style.Thanks.

open links and previous page
Long tap > “open link” can be a bit cumbersome whe navigating through a document. It would be smoother if you could double or triple tap to click a link. Additionally, if you need to jump between two pages quickly, it would be a lot smoother if you could then jump back to the previous page. For example, going from a to-do list with individual items, following a link to a sub task page for each item, then following a link to a notes page, then ax t the original to-do list.

Turn off "summarize" AI feature request
Every Goodnotes file I bring up on my iPad has the (annoying) "Summarize" option pop up.... I do not use it, it would be great to have a "turn this off" feature. Thank you for making a great product!

Curl pages
Introduce curl scrolling which will make the experience more like using a real notebook and a preferred app for reading as well

Cleaning up handwriting
Refining Handwriting.
Now that Apple has introduced Smart Script, it is now the most appealing reason for someone who doesn’t have great penmanship to start writing notes again. I see that others have also brought this feedback. I hope Goodnotes will implement something similar or better. It will be the only reason for me to upgrade.

LOWER price for goodnotes 6 for non-included-languages.
The new Woodnotes 6 is packed with great functionality. For some people.
as a user who primarily (99%) writes in my native Swedish language, the experience has actually gotten worse (GN6 interpret my Swedish as wrongfully written English and tries to change it).
Why do I have to pay extra for a worse product?
Please offer a version without the language-dependent features for a reduced cost. I have supported GN for a VERY long time, but this makes me feel scammed. Other features that are non-language dependent are making GN6 worth an upgrade, but it's not fair that I have to pay the same.
Goodnotes is of course not the only services that does this, treat a few select languages better, and make everyone pay. I pay 100s of euros/usd for functionality that I can't use every month. that's not fair.

In the add page option of good notes app. Please provide a option of default page lock of my own choice.

I’m a regular user of GoodNotes 6 and truly appreciate the powerful tools the app provides for organizing and annotating my study material. However, I wanted to suggest an improvement that could greatly enhance the user experience:
📌 Feature Request: Set a Permanent Default Template for “Add Page”
Currently, when I add a new page within a notebook, the app shows Recent Templates and inherits the current page’s attributes. While this is helpful in some cases, it becomes frustrating when working in imported PDFs or mixed-layout notebooks — the template defaults become inconsistent.
What I’m requesting:
• An option to lock a “Global Default Template” (e.g., Blank, GoodNotes Standard, Portrait).
• This template should always appear at the top of the “Add Page” panel, regardless of the page I’m currently on.
• Ideally, it should appear next to or above “Recent Templates” for quick one-tap access.This simple option would save a lot of time and prevent confusion — especially for users who rely on a consistent note-taking format.
Thank you for the great work on GoodNotes, and I hope this feature can be considered for future updates!

Make the Ai feature smarter
HI! Nursing Student here. (also I swear by GOODNOTES till the day I DIE!) While I am very aware of the AI feature "Ask Goodnotes", I wish that when I ask it to re-word something or say it in a different way, it would do that instead of literally changing the words around to form a new sentence. Like the other competitors of Ai software, NOT NOTE TAKING APPS (I love GN) have it be able to answer questions with a response not just based on the imported slides but also using sources from the web similar to the big "no name" Ai software. Or atleast for now improve it so when I ask can you re-word in a simpler way " Cluster of life events is associated with the onset of illness" it doesn't answer it by listing information on the next slides. While it does "re-word" it, I'm simply only looking for the specific sentence to be reworded not providing me with that is yet to study on the following slides!

Export Study Sets in various formats
I work on other apps as well and it would be great if our study sets translates to various formats such as excel.

Non-Editable Time Stamp
Non-editable time stamps are critical because they ensure the integrity and accuracy of notes, while providing a reliable and tamper-proof log of when actions or events occurred.
This is essential for maintaining trust, accountability, and legal compliance in various systems and processes. Many of my personal notes can and have been used for this type of documentation.
With paper notes, you can definitely tell if one note is older than another if you constantly use the same notebook.
With electronic notes, there is no way to determine if what was written was done that morning or 4 years ago.
OneNote does offer this feature, and it seems like it should be a fairly simple add to the system. I really like this app for notes as compared to others, so please, please consider making this an option sooner rather than later.

Vertical Scroll Lock for Writing Stability
I would like to suggest a new feature for GoodNotes. When the scrolling direction is set to vertical, it would be great to have an option to lock the scroll strictly to vertical movement. For example, after setting a zoom ratio, pressing a button could lock the view so that touch gestures only move the page up and down, with no side-to-side movement at all.
The reason is that palm rejection is not perfect, and my notes often shift sideways unintentionally while writing. This feature would really improve the writing experience.
