Sync all settings, custom colours and templates across devices (not just documents)
Doesn’t sync settings, custom templates and custom colour pallets across devices! It is really troublesome to manage (and update) everything manually across 3 devices. Please rectify this!

Always to be able set page height and width on screen regardless of paper size
If pages are all the same size in a document and are smaller than A5, GN does not allow to further zoom out, i.e. keeps pages maximised on fit to screen. Can we please not have this? I’m now forced to add a page larger than the others to my documents just so that it is not always fit to screen. It’s disturbing to me as it really bugs my OCD.

Different shapes for eraser not just circle
Sometimes it would be helpful to have a rectangle or triangle or just a line as shape for erasing. Or at least the circle size be adjustable more than it is now.

Automatically scroll to, and highlight, outline closest to current page in document view area when opening outline section of page grid view
When opening the page grid view, and clicking on the outline section (as opposed to thumbnails section), it would be awesome if the outline section would automatically scroll down (and highlight/bolden) the outline that is closest to (but before or on) the current page the user is editing/looking at in the documents view page. Currently, every time the outline section of the page grid view is selected, the list shows the very top of the outline list, and the user has to scroll down to outlines that are relevant to the current page, as opposed to the outline section automatically…

Desktop (Mac) Version Very Clunky
Using Goodnotes on the desktop app is pretty clunky. The logic on how to move things and add things and resize is not intuitive. Right now its logic seems to be similar to a layout software such as InDesign or a yearbook creation program. But it is far less slick and responsive. Since navigating the program is not intuitive compared to other document editors it should have a very responsive and precise movement and editing.
Ideally moving any element - text box, sticker, or photo - wouldn't require switching between tools. Selection would be global (not requiring switching tools in…

Auto text wrapping from one page to another while copy-pasting
Pasting a large text copied from another source into goodnotes doesn’t automatically moves to the next pages. Only workaround for this is to copying small parts and paste and then move to next page and continue like this. Text should automatically move to next pages if the area is insufficient for that page.

Image Occlusion for Flashcards
Image Occlusion is a simple but very useful feature. With Image Occlusion, I can draw a box to cover up labels on a diagram. If I tap on the box, the box becomes invisible and the answer gets revealed. If I tap again, the box becomes opaque and the answer gets covered up again.
There should also be a button to cover up all of the answers at once or reveal them all at once. When I’m done studying for the day, I want to cover up all of the answers, in order to pick up my studying next time.…

Embed YouTube Videos in Notes
Please allow us to embed YouTube videos in our notes.
Also allow us to import video files and audio files from our device into our notes.
These features are very important for study purposes. I can’t efficiently go through all of the info that I have to review without being able to make proper use of YouTube videos, as well as video and audio files.

Text snippet insertion
Ability to insert text snippets including timestamps in the page. I place a horizontal line across the page then insert a timestamp to separate new entries in a notebook.

I would like the following features for pens and markers:
(1)Please be able to draw a dotted line.
(2)Make it possible to change the transparency of the marker color.
(3)Make it possible to change the thickness of the line after drawing. (It's not a size change, it's a thickness change. When you scale down it, the line becomes too thin.)3 votes -

Network connections on macOS when app not running
I have GoodNotes 5 installed on my M1 MacBook Air, but rarely have it running. I see network connection attempts in Little Snitch made from the app all the time, including after booting and before I've opened GoodNotes for the session. I've also tried killing all related processes, but the connections still attempt to spawn.
Is there a reason for this persistent leakage of telemetry when the application is dormant?

Import Video & Audio Files into Notes
We can add images into our notes but there is currently no option to insert video files & audio files. Please consider adding this feature. Allow us to upload audio & video files to our notes, just as we are able to upload pictures.

Faster and more Accurate Highlighter
As of today, Goodnotes offers two ways of highlighting. One can either select the text manually, and click on 'Highlight' or use the Highlighter tool with a stylus/finger and freehand it.
I propose a method that is highly common and immensely popular with other simple pdf editing apps. Clicking on a Highlighter tool, which then enables the user to drag across text to highlight precisely. Provide a way to submit problems
I am a new user and am trying to report a problem I’m having. I can’t find anything about it in the existing support information and cannot find any way to submit an error report. Do you not have a way to submit an error? I’ve been pretty happy with my free version and am considering buying the upgrade but I can’t abide any software that doesn’t have a way to report errors. Nobody’s perfect and there needs to be a way to submit them.

Crop screenshots directly after you took them
Currently you have to take a screenshot, copy it, paste it into a notebook and then you can crop it.
