scan text from images and books for goodnotes AI
I import a lot of older books and text images from classes, but in order to use goodnotes AI, the words in the imported PDF need to be actual text.
MacOS does it well in preview, but I can't export it as embedded text from the image scan, so I'll have to resort to janky online tools that take forever to read the images then ultimately import it again to goodnotes.
I've seen some occassional messages from the AI sidebar asking if it can read it, but it never does and the message is sporatic anyway. How can goodnotes read…

Auto-refine/handwriting error
I’d like to suggest that GoodNotes add an auto-refine or handwriting smoothing feature that subtly corrects small imperfections in handwriting without changing the user’s natural writing style.
Currently, when writing with the Apple Pencil using the ballpoint pen, I’ve noticed that the strokes sometimes add unwanted flicks or extra lines at the end of letters, which makes the handwriting look less clean and natural, this is extremely irratating as on other app my handwriting doesnt appear to be like that. Toolbar as a Toolbar and not as a hiding mechanism.
Please remove this ridiculous toolbar.
The toolbar is an essential place to find your tools - The way you could customize it was just great - Also it did not hide content behind a floating thingy.
Your decision to hide the ruler behind another tap (And just not allowing us to bring it to the front) is another miserable choice. How dare you?

Make a separate bookmark option when we access all pages part.
Previously it was great. Now I have to select separately whether I want to switch between the two. Remove the audio option and bring back the bookmark option instead.

Remove font size cap
With the new update the font size is capped at 100 which for larger documents is still too small. Please let us insert whatever size we want like before.

border shape
Hi, I used to make filled rectangles without borders in GoodNotes, but after the latest update I can’t find how to do it anymore. I’ve tried using Undo and even the eraser, but I still can’t remove the border line.

Toggle or change to Eraser in pen tools (7.0.6)
Choosing pen tools but it keeps going to eraser.
The mode that wrap annotations (pen, editing, writing) in one place including eraser is someone troubling me.
When used lasso tools then change to pen, it keeps getting to eraser before pen. When it wasn’t merge before, I can manually select pen then it’s pen.
Now when I select pen, it goes to eraser.I want it to be pen first when I choose the category.

Disable long press menu as a palm rejection option
When I’m writing with my apple pencil I’m constantly accidentally activating the paste, zoom, comment, link long press menu with my fingers, I never use this menu, so I think it would be helpful to be able to disable it in the palm rejection settings menu.

Rubber in the main menu
If you use for example the new forms and switch to the rubber by tapping your Apple Pencil and then you open the Pencil Menu, the rubber is selected.
I would prefer the rubber as an independent tool like the powerpointer.3 votes -
more shapes or different shapes
In the new goodnotes 7 update the shape tool does not do sharp right angels and the draw and hold feature does not give perfect right angels so they should add this as a feature where your able to choose on a "natural shape" or a "precise shape" and when you try and draw a circle it does not give you an option on if you want it at an angle anymore this also goes for a trapezoid if you want a trapezoid and you use the shape tool or the hold feature it gives you a rectangle. Select and copy as a screenshot just like notability
I echo this like other users did before. Math can be very messy especially with lots of questions. When you have to screenshot a question, you need to do a full 4 actions sequence to get a pasteable screenshot. If we can have a select copy paste screenshot this would be a killer-feature !

Apple Pencil or 3rd-Party Pencil
I am partially posting this to see if others are have this issue or if it is just me. I have two 3rd-party "Apple Pencil", one of which I only used once to verify it worked and maintain as a backup in case something happens with the other. The primary one I have used for over a year now with no issues. Shape tool Stroke width Option
I truly appreciate the new features introduced with the recent update—they’ve been very helpful. I do, however, have a small request that I believe would make the workflow even smoother.
Currently, whenever I switch from writing to drawing shapes or lines, I need to manually adjust the stroke width each time to match my pen. This process takes a little extra time and interrupts the natural flow of writing and drawing.
