Add an Equations text option or a better cloud sync
Similar to one note, word, etc - an option to type equations with shorthand such as \vec (to create a vector arrow), \pi for the pi symbol, etc is incredibly important for mathematics, engineering, physics and many other sciences. If Goodnotes 5 is to truly support all students, mathematical equation support in text format is a must. Goodnotes 5 is used above OneNote because printing onenote pages is actively a nightmare, but lack of support for maths, and an inability to sync any handwritten equations immediately with a live sync or force cloud sync feature is a huge issue.
I am happy to handwrite my maths equations, but without a better syncing option that lets me sync notebooks when i need to change back to typing, Goodnotes falls below many of the other softwares.

Take notes in Margins
When a new page is created or a pdf imported into GoodNotes, there is a margin on the sides. Occasionally, students use these pdf slide decks to take notes, but end up marking up the page. Sometimes those pages don’t have room for notes. Being able to write in the free margins of the window would be an excellent way to take notes without writing directly on slides/pages. Either making it a permanent change or an option to make margin notes in documents would be great.

integration of digital signatures (certificates)
Goodnotes is a very fine tool for work with PDF-Files and documents.
But I miss the function to integrate certificates (digital signatures) in documents.1 vote -
TEXT TEXT TEXT
you already know this but seem to ignore the community, can’t react to the community or both. TEXT, TEXT, TEXT. FIX IT. you know what it needs. It’s well documented by the community.
Start with spacing and usability of the text box. On an iPad. With an Apple Pencil. The primary use case scenario.8 votes -
Focus writing
When at uni I need as much screen real estate as possible. So the tab at the top with all the different pen options takes away too much of the screen space. It would be great if we could enter a full screen mode and be able to write while in the corner there is an option if need to bring back the toolbar.

Pointer in full screen mode
While in full screen to be able to use the laser pointer. When I study I like to be in full screen mode and to be able to circle certain words while having as much screen real estate.

Integrate Goodnotes 4 Pen to Goodnotes 5
I am one of the lucky people who is able to use Goodnotes 4 to experience the best note taking pens in the App store. ✍️
I constantly check for Goodnotes 5 updates to see if the pen experience has improved.
The biggest differences can be seen when writing the letter "S". 🖋️ The mechanism used in Goodnotes 5 almost forces the letter to fix itself 👷 while as in Goodnotes 4 its thicker while also making sure it doesn't force your handwriting a certain way.
Goodnotes 4 feels so natural and without manipulation while preserving the nice thickness of the fountain pen.
I have tried every possible pen option and setting in Goodnotes 5. Its not possible to imitate it unfortunately. 🙁
I am not sure if its tough on the devs to add old code into Goodnotes 5 but if its at all possible please consider it 🙏
Goodnotes 4 is hands down the best writing experience to ever hit the app store! Please give us the opportunity to have it in your new app! thank you!

Lasso +copy/paste part of image with transparency
Being able to upload a transparent png or a layered pdf and be able to grab a section of that image with the lasso to copy and paste while maintaining transparency. Currently you can just select the whole image and crop or drag in each item in individually which is unnecessarily painful.

Refresh Button for iCloud
iCloud sync is very slow and usually doesn't work. It takes too long to leave the document that I am currently in to find the iCloud settings on the main page. If iCloud sync can't be fixed and made more efficient then it would at least be helpful to add a sync button somewhere within the document editing page to speed up the process for users

Text style formats
I would really appreciate to have styles for text like in Word to save text formats (that's something I really miss in Goodnotes for IOS).

Flash card Notifications
Could you please add flash card notifications, where goodnotes sends out a notification when it’s the recommended time to study the flashcards again? Like helping the spaced practice be more effective by prompting the user it’s time to review those cards again?
And also have a todo list within the goodnotes app itself on the side which shows the sets that need to be done, and the tasks only go away once you do them with a satisfying animation.

Set a different default template for each folder or notebook
I use a lot of different custom templates for the work that I do. It would save me an immense amount of time if I could set a different default template for each folder. Example: if I open my folder of customer orders and start a quick note, it automatically uses the template I’ve created for taking orders that customers phone in because I’ve set that as the default template for THAT folder. When I open my interviews folder and start a quick note the default template would be the questionnaire that I use when interviewing applicants. Please!

Close taps at once

text box
GoodNotes on MacOS needs changes to the Text box.
It runs off the edge of the page. So if I am typing the words go right to the edge then the text will run to the next line. No margin at all. This means when I start to type in a text box and type more than one line, I then need to move the text box to the left so I can then resize it to move it back to the right. This is pretty inconvenient. Should be a way to leave a margin on the page.

Full support for system’s redo/undo three-finger tap bubble.
When you tap in an iPad with three fingers, a bubble with redo and undo buttons will appear on the top of the screen. It could be useful, however, GoodNotes seems to support only the undo function, while the redo button can never be activated. I’m wondering maybe you can fix this problem.

Accessibility Option - Invert
Allow for inverting colors of a document opened in the app. Nothing fancy like iOS smart invert needed; just invert all colors in document ignoring menu and drawing/highlighter colors. My eyes are sensitive to light, but I need to use an iPad to be able to view my textbooks in large print and take notes; I literally use sunglasses while studying, cause I require the contrast so lowering brightness doesn't help. Smart invert also doesn't work, and regular iOS invert is annoying to turn on and off as I am switching back and forth between apps during long and short study sessions.
With 8 years of undergrad study behind and 6 years of grad school ahead; I have and will continue to be a dedicated Goodnotes user; couldn't be this far without this wonderful app. I use it on both my iPad and on my mac using iCloud sync.
This is a necessary feature that will literally save tons of headaches.
Please implement this.

internal links
Better organisation options through internal links!! When you have a lot of notes you don't want to be searching through hundreds of pages for the specific topic your looking for! I would love to be able to create an index where I click on the topic and it will take me there, like google docs does (one of my favourite features). Maybe different personalisation options side tabs like a binder and you can click them to go to the specified area (as a seperate option not instead of basic internal links). I have found people asking for this as far as 3 years back and people changing to different note take apps for this reason and its so surprising that it hasn't been added yet. Also don't do it so you can only choose a page, but you can choose key words to get the exact point!
