  2. I love digital notes with Goodnotes. But when you take notes on paper the sheet usually has lines (ruled) or a grid (squared) that are a fixed scale. I always have issues finding the right scale on a digital page as long as I cannot set a value for it. So I ended up taping in the side of the iPad screen a piece of lined sheet so that I zoom the digital sheet for the lines to match the paper lines. That way I have constant scale and I am not always trying to adjust my writing size to…

  3. Ability to create outlines of documents like books , using AI rather than manually creating every single outline for easy accessibility of the subtopics or chapters within a document.

Also the ability to copy and paste outlines from one document to another should be there.

  4. Pull to Add Page is a great feature. However, in my case it seems to always duplicate the last page in the document. But that doesn't seem to make sense. For example, why - if I have marked up an image in GoodNotes, - would I want to duplicate it? Then I just have another page that is the same as the one before it.

So I find myself constantly pulling to add page, and then having to delete the newly created (duplicate) page, and then I have to go up to the dropdown menu and choose the template. It…

  6. At the moment the sorting option by date or by name is the same for folders and the complete documents. There should be a way where on the main documents page you can sort by date and sort by name in a subfolder.

  7. This app would be perfect if searching can work in images and scanned PDFs. It can be easily done in iOS system or the original File app (Live Text). So I believe it is totally possible.

  9. The auto advance in the zoom tool helps writing on the left to right. It’s essential to add auto advance from right to left for more languages.

  14. Would you please add the minimal API (AppleScript, JavaScript, command line interface, or other) required for App Name to work with Hook? I use the macOS productivity app, Hook, to provide the missing links between my favorite apps. Hook enables me to to link items from my favorite apps to each other. This provides many benefits.

Hook needs AppleScript support to get a name and URL (or other unique identifier) of the frontmost open resource in your app; and
be able to open this resource later using that same URL/identifier.

That’s all there is to it. It’s quite easy to…

  15. I often re-use arrows and all sorts of frames (lined shapes without filling) that I need to immediately adjust in terms of size but not in terms of thickness.

Another user case is that I hand-write some text with a pen (not text tool) and then I need to make the whole of it a bit smaller or larger BUT KEEP THE THICKNESS of the lines.

Let’s say I drew an arrow with a pen 2 mm thick and then I need to make the shape bigger - longer in this case - BUT I STILL WANT IT TO BE…

  17. A lot of apps (other than the MS Office suite) out there can edit Word (.docx) and PowerPoint (.pptx) files.

Given that a lot of class notes are given by professors in these formats, having the ability to modify them within the app would allow users to replace MS Office apps for basic note editing work.

I already keep all PDF docs in GoodNotes. Having the option to properly import and edit Word and PowerPoint files here would make it much more convenient.

This would make GoodNotes more attractive for working professionals as well.

Hope to see this feature sometime…

  18. Currently, I have to use several different apps to take my notes and go through the annoying process of sharing back and forth via Google Drive or some other convoluted method.

Please include PC compatibility for note-taking (not just viewing) and a cloud sync to avoid issues with transferring notes back and forth. See sites such as Canva that already do this. Honestly, sometimes I just use Canva for taking notes since at least I can control text formatting, grouping and locking, and cloud sync.

  20. Selecting hyperlinks require that you turn the pen-tool off, press on the hyperlink, then turn the pen-tool back on. Instead:

Allow a long-press on a hyperlink to activate it.

Alternatively, a double-touch on a hyperlink to activate it.

I can't tell you how many times I've pressed on a hyperlink and end up writing a dot. I have several people I have recruited to be GoodNotes users and this is a frequent problem when they begin using the program ("Hey, why don't hyperlinks work?")
