GoodNotes avaible for android phones
Actually I'm using a Samsung Ultra Series which comes with a S pen and an iPad.
I've noticed that the app isn't avaiable for phones (only some android tablets)
It could be great if the app allows any android device almost in a "read only" mode, and for dedicated devices (as phones with pen capabilities, or external devices as keyboards, etc) integrates a "full mode" como en iOS.5 votes -
Shortcut for Changing Colors
A simple upgrade that would help a lot with productivity and maintaining focus during my study sessions is shortcuts to change pen colors. I thought about using the numbers for it relative color in the toolbar, so number one would select the first color, number two the second one and so on.
I love to use specific colors for the same type of information or indicating something, and selecting manually the colors every time really gets my wrist tired overtime lmao.
I'd be really grateful if the devs can give me some of their work time to work with this

Create merge
I would like Goodnotes to add a Merge or Group Strokes feature.
For example, I can draw a bracket or box shape using several separate pen strokes. Visually, the strokes are meant to work together as one connected shape. However, Goodnotes still treats each stroke as separate. If I select only one part of the shape, the rest of the bracket stays behind.
What I want is a way to connect multiple strokes together with an invisible link, so they behave as one single object. After merging, selecting any part of the shape should select the whole merged object. Moving…

Move notebooks between Folders
Moving documents between folders is a basic feature in any app for efficient sorting and management, the feature should have been in the basic build.

No more trouble starting
It now takes so much time for the app to start that I avoid using it. I tested it out and it took around 30 seconds to show my files or the last page opened. It does not seem a lot but during classes, presentations or explanations it can be very frustating

IOS and Windows
It would be nice to access the same Notebooks with markups on my ipad as my windows computer
- Same fonts (it is the same app, so fonts should transfer over the same between ipad and windows)
- If I have a folder on my ipad with multiple documents, the folder should be able to show up on my windows with the same files inside
- it would also be nice if the apple calendar could be imported into goodnotes (for planner and task use)
- Outlook emails, to be able to add files and emails into goodnotes as a…8 votes -
Improve Workflow: Work on Notes Offline
Dear GoodNotes Team,
as a user coming from iOS and switching to Android, I noticed many differences that make it significantly harder to maintain a consistent workflow. The most serious of these is the loading time when switching between pages or opening a large document imported from GoodNotes iOS.
Switching from the web to a native app version of GoodNotes would of course be ideal, but doesn't seem to fit your current business strategy. However, the most logical alternative would be to implement an offline mode in which users can easily download documents locally — allowing instant switching between page…4 votes -

Add more and consistent Animations to the Goodnotes UI
At the moment, the interface feels noticeably static because most UI elements lack animations. This includes interactions such as opening menus, triggering pop‑ups, switching tools, or navigating between sections. The absence of motion feedback makes the app feel less polished and less responsive especially compared to the iPad and macOS versions.
Introducing simple, consistent, and minimalistic animations across the UI would significantly improve the overall user experience. Even subtle transitions—such as smooth fades, slides, or scale effects—can make interactions feel more intuitive, modern, and cohesive. These animations don’t need to be complex; they just need to provide visual continuity and…

Zoom Lock Mode
The two-finger swipe gesture used for page navigation frequently triggers the pinch-to-zoom function unintentionally. This is a recurring source of friction — the app zooms in mid-navigation, requiring the user to manually reset the zoom level before continuing.
Request: Introduce a Zoom Lock toggle that disables pinch-to-zoom when activated. This should be accessible quickly — either from the toolbar or a floating button — so users can enable it during long note-taking or reading sessions where zoom is not needed. When Zoom Lock is on, two-finger gestures should be interpreted exclusively as page-turn inputs, not zoom triggers.

Persistent Next/Previous Page Buttons
On Android, navigating between pages in a long document currently requires a two-finger swipe gesture. Across documents of 30–50+ pages, this becomes physically fatiguing and interrupts the writing/reading flow.
Request: Add persistent on-screen buttons (next page / previous page) that allow single-tap navigation between pages. These should remain visible at all times during document view, without requiring the toolbar to be active. An optional toggle to show/hide them in Settings would also be useful for users who don't want the UI clutter.

Handwriting lag causes curves to snap into straight lines when writing fast (especially while recording)
When writing by hand in GoodNotes—especially while recording audio and taking notes at the same time—I frequently experience severe lag.
Because of this lag, when I try to write quickly and draw curved strokes, the app does not follow my pen movement in real time. Instead, the handwriting is rendered as a straight line connecting the starting point and the ending point of the stroke, as if the curve information is lost.
This behavior is very disruptive during fast note-taking, particularly in lectures or meetings where recording and handwriting must happen simultaneously. It breaks the natural flow of handwriting and…

Calendar integration for Android
Like the Apple version.... True calendar integration. It is now common on other applications. What goes on Google Calendar shows on Good notes and vice versa.

On/Off Grid
A toggleable (on/off) grid would make writing on imported PDFs much easier.
The Zoom Window helps only in small areas, and handwriting often becomes uneven when looking at the whole page.
A page‑wide grid would keep both handwriting and shapes aligned.Additionally, a dot‑grid would be especially helpful because it guides writing without being too visible.

Search for text from all documents
I would like the ability to search across all documents, not just within a single file.
For example, if I search for a specific word like “rockxgr” and I don’t know which document contains it, the system should return all document(s) where that text appears.
In short, a global search feature that scans all documents and identifies where the specified word or phrase is located4 votes
