An error occurred while saving the comment Get rid of the floating toolbar PLEASE! I hate the look of it and if you move it to the side, you can't change between pen sizes without clicking into a menu. I've used Goodnotes for about 8 years, but I am seriously considering a switch.
FYI everyone, if you purchased Goodnotes 5, you can refert! That's what I did.

Hello! We’re excited to let you know that we’ve updated the Text tool and introduced a new dedicated floating menu for text boxes, including more customization options.
One of the new tools is Pin Text Tool — when enabled, it keeps the Text tool active so you can create multiple text boxes continuously without having to reselect it each time.
This is especially helpful when you're focused on adding or adjusting text in your notes. The pin will automatically turn off once you switch to another tool.
Feel free to try it out and let us know how it works for you!
This improvement is available in the latest Apple update.
An error occurred while saving the comment You liars tricked me. I wasn't updating because I HATE how the floating toolbars take up more screen real estate and revert every single text box to a lasso so I have to click the text box over and over again.
I thought we got the old toolbar back because you said "Revert to the default layout: Restore the original setup anytime."
I've been a Goodnotes user for about 8 years and I am furious. LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!
An error occurred while saving the comment Please make the tool bar take up less space on the page in general! The toolbar (not including these additions) takes up ~1/6th of the screen. I want space to read and write, not look at all the settings.

An error occurred while saving the comment Seriously!! I use my ipad primarily for note taking, and I can't even update now because Goodnotes is "too big," except that I don't have that many files and I clear out old ones all the time. The app is clearly wasting storage space and doesn't have good optimization or cache eviction going on.

I specifically chose Goodnotes over Notability because I wanted to avoid features being hidden unnecessarily behind extra clicks and menus. I'm honestly so frustrated, I reverted to Goodnotes 5.
