  1. Double-Page View / Split View / Side-by-side View

    As a professional musician, GoodNotes is almost perfect for viewing and marking up sheet music both during rehearsals and performances! In my circle of friends and colleagues, GoodNotes is really becoming our go-to app! We unanimously agree that the only feature that is missing for viewing sheet music is the ability to view two pages at once (like an open book or in Mac's Preview "double-page viewing"). Is it possible that I'm just not seeing this feature?

    We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).

    With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.

    How to open a new window:

    You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:

    - the app icon from the dock
    - documents from the library
    - folders from the library
    - individual pages from the document thumbnail view

  2. Improvement of pdf loading speed

    Loading A4 sized scanned pdf with 300dpi takes between 1 and 5 seconds per each page for iPad Retina when continuously viewing next pages, which is very slow. And it shows a blank page until it fully loads a page.

    In contrast, Note-shelf shows low resolution page first then load full resolution image later. This is very convenient when searching for a specific page while scrolling to next pages. Goodreader precaches adjacent pages in advance, therefore there loading speed is very fast.

    It would be nice if Goodnotes improve pdf loading speed by loading low resolution image first or precaching…

  3. A Laserpointer tool would be great for teachers!

    Like in Apples Keynote App, when connected to a beamer I have the posibiltiy to make annotations for the current slice. There are different colored pens and a kind of Laserpointer tool (a glowing red dot or so). This is great for demonstrating things, whithout manipulating the current slice.

    Same would be great for GoodNotes - as a teacher I use GoodNotes as a Replacement for the traditional board. At the moment I do a workaround by undoing the pencil strokes I made for showing things on the current sheet.

  4. Layer

    Allow users to put comments on different layers. It would be helpful if these could be turned on/ off, or have their transparency % adjusted like in the Photoshop Touch application. Selecting annotations on one layer only or locking others would be useful as well.

  5. Have an option to merge notebooks

    I use this app for school and work. From school I would get notes from classmates and add them to my notes. It would be great to merge those together. For work it would be nice to other peoples notes with mine.

  6. Add tagging of documents and locations within documents

    It would be a great deal, if it would be possible to tag all documents and (possibly) each position within each note with one or more tags. There should be a tag list for each shelf of notes, such that I can have different sets of tags for each shelf. It should then be possible to open the tag list for a shelf, click on a tag, and get a list of all usages of this tag with all documents and all locations within documents.   9. Enhance the Geometry button!

    I love being able to draw lines, circles, ovals and squares. But I use the app all the time to draw out some graphs and ideas that require more geometry.

    We could enhance the Geometry button with these great ideas:
    ・Let us draw curved lines!!!
    ・When it's turned on, and you draw a square or circle, you can afterwards enlarge it like you would be able to do with an image.
    ・After we've drawn a curved line allow us to stretch the angle, change the curve here and there!

  10. Add the ability to insert a PDF the same way you would a picture. (Resizing, cropping, moving around on page)

    I would like to be able to manipulate a PDF in the same way you would a picture. I find that sometimes I want half of a page in my notes but don't want to insert a screen shot as it doesn't look nearly as nice.

  11. Add calendar for reminders, alerts, BFs related to each doc for follow up

    Good notes doesn't provide the option to put a time/date reminder to each document so you can then follow up. Or, to include specific actions/reminders. Integrate a calendar.

    Wenn man vom markieren ins schreiben übergeht, soll das Lineal Werkzeug deaktiviert werden, da man es sonst immer selber deaktivieren muss.
    Darüberhinaus wäre es hilfreich, ein duales System zu entwickeln, sodass man bei Bedarf die vorherige Seite klein oben im Eck hat, sodass man nicht immer zurückblättern muss, um die Aufgabenstellung zu lesen.

  16. Ability to create custom saveable drawings/shapes

    It would be nice if I could reuse certain drawings/shapes that I've previously drawn, for example saving a certain graph setup (e.g. having axis labelled with distance vs. time) and then be able to choose from my saved shape menu and input it into the document I am working on now.

  17. Zoom box: control zoom magnification size

    I'd like to write smaller sized letters in the zoom box, it's more efficient and quicker, especially with a stylus. But if I do, the letters show up too small on the actual notebook page.

  18. Add a "night-time" mode/theme

    I like the new iOS 7 theme in GoodNotes 4, but it has WAY too much glaring white space in the "bookshelf" view and in the menu bars. This is fine during the day for most people, but during night or in a dark room it can cause eye strain which inhibits productivity. For people like me with sensitive eyes, it'd be wonderful to have a "dark/night" theme that could be toggled on or off or even automatically activated based on ambient light. The music app "Ecoute" has a perfect example of this functionality. For me, this is the missing…

  19. Add an additional color option

    Like a multi color pen with 4 slots. Add a 4th slot to the color options, so we can have the standard black and 3 other colors, or any 4 colors we want.

  20. Group elements on a page and lock groups to prevent them from accidental changes

    Group elements to one group which will be handled as one element ( e..g.. Move and delete) and possibility to lock groups so that they are prevented from accidential movement
