(German) entweder alles zurück updaten oder die Toolbar überarbeiten
Goodnotes ist seit dem letzten update nichtmehr für eine gute Arbeit zu gebrauchen es ist umständlicher…. einfach die Tastatur ausklappen am tablet und los schreiben geht nicht es ist eine Schande es so kaputt zu machen so hart muss ich es mal sagen ich arbeite jeden tag 8 stunden mit goodnotes und jetzt könnte ich es in die tonne schmeißen weil es nicht mehr akzeptabel ist. macht was….. egal was…..

Shape editing was better in Goodnotes 6
I regularly use the shape to draw curved lines and then edit their shape to create larger, more complex shapes. Currently, that‘s next to impossible:
- Editing points don‘t scale with zooming; especially when editing small lines, the points now cover up the lines entirely.
- These lines are often glitched out and turn invisible while editing, especially when multiple lines are connected together.
- After editing a line, Goodnotes automatically selects the lasso tool instead of the pen, making the drawing process very tedious.None of these issues occured with Goodnotes 6, I hope these issues are fixed with…

[Tape] Show/Hide/Remove All Tapes at Once
After the new tape inclusion, it would be nice to have a button to hide all tapes again or to show the content below the tapes at the same time.

[Lock Objects] Add Lock Icon to the Primary Object Menu
Please include a lock function/icon in the primary image click hover menu.
And/or even more functionality to be able to “pin” tools nested in the ellipsis (overflow menu) to this primary hover menu permanently as specified by user.
This would save several inputs in order to lock elements, similar to how (once locked) the hover menu populates with a rapid unlock image icon.

Writing Tools in Main Toolbar
Thank you for improving the toolbar customisation with your latest updates to version 7.0.15.
However, it would be very helpful, if it would be possible to have the writing tools also integrated in the main toolbar. I use the laser, the fountain pen, the highlighter and the eraser for presenting slides in my lectures. Rotate draw and hold/more nuanced lasso tool
Hi GoodNotes team,
I use GoodNotes heavily for planning and note-taking, and I’ve noticed a frustrating inconsistency with shapes.
When I draw an oval using the Pen tool with “draw & hold” (auto-shape), it sometimes snaps into place at an angle. However, when I select it, there’s no rotate handle or rotate option—so I can’t straighten it without deleting and redrawing.
In contrast, an oval created with the Shape tool does include a rotate handle. This results in two shapes that look identical but behave very differently, which can be confusing during fast daily use.

Please put copy and paste back
Why did you change the copy and paste? It takes way too long to copy and paste an item now. I hate how it asks me a question each time I simply want to paste an item. I don’t understand this change. The question of “allow paste”should just be a setting you can pick outside of the regular function. I get behind in my note taking because i constantly have to answer the copy and paste question. Lasso tool should not activate automatically
Lasso tool should please not activate automatically while writing (ie after drawing a line and clicking it to make it longer or shorter), requiring tapping the pen tool to return to writing

UI Fixes on iPad

I’m writing to share some UX feedback based on frequent, everyday use of GoodNotes on iPad. All of the points below stem from a common issue: tool discoverability and predictability, especially for power users who rely on muscle memory.
- Inconsistent context menu ordering When selecting content, the context menu (Copy, Paste, Duplicate, etc.) changes order depending on context. For example, “Copy” sometimes appears near the top and other times much lower in the list. Because these are high-frequency actions, the inconsistency makes the interface feel unpredictable and slows down routine workflows.

Adding new node or handle to existing shape
When drawing shapes goodnotes creates nodes or handles to allow you to adjust the shape, however you cannot then add a new node/handle to the shape.
For example, if I draw a triangle, and then want to change it to a 4 sided shape, I have to delete the shape and redraw.
When drawing complex shapes, this is time consuming and frustrating.
Please can you add the option to add new nodes (or handles) to existing shapes?2 votes -
Mirror sketch
Everyone wants to mirror images, but what would be awesome is if you had any sketch and to be able to mirror its entirety to give symmetrical conduct, it saves not only time and energy but is also efficient and widely used in sketches.

Search tool in text documents
At the moment there is no search tool in text documents. I don’t understand this decision at all. Being able to search within a text document is absolutely crucial.

Sticky Note pop-up gets cut off near page margins on iPad
On iPad, when I place a Sticky Note near the page margin, the pop-up opens partially cut off/off-screen and it’s inconvenient to use. It would be helpful if the pop-up could extend beyond the page edges or automatically reposition, so it always stays fully visible.

Lasso Tool + Text Box + Shapes
For the lasso tool, be able to select shapes and handwriting because sometimes they are drawn together and when you want to move the whole thing, it only selects the shape (even though select shape + handwriting is on).
For the text box, have the grey box with the size, colour, etc. be somewhat transparent so that the underlying background can still somewhat be seen (helps when typing something that is said in the background).
For the shapes, have an option to not combine shapes when putting them on top of each other.

[Eraser] Eraser types buttons instead of a dropdown
Now that the eraser is its own section in the toolbar, getting rid of the slow type selection dropdown would be a good next step, as the bar definitely has the space for it
I change between precision and stroke quite frequently and it is a process that could be that little bit faster and more convenient than it is right now

Perspective correction tool for photos/pictures
As a medical student I often take photos of lecture slides from various angles, currently cropping these images results in distorted or skewed perspectives, leaving me with “uncroppable” parts.
I would love to see a feature similiar to the Notes app in IOS when scanning a document, it would help me make better notes for me.

Adjust a drawn line
When you want to adjust the lenght of a Drawn line, a large Blue dot appears. This makes it impossible to Drag the line to the exakt Position you want. A magnifying Glass or a very small dot would be much more helpful here.
