  1. Hello,

Thank you for your great app.

I would like to suggest a feature that could improve the user experience.

Currently, Goodnotes displays documents in a single-page view. It would be very helpful to have an option for a two-page spread (double-page view), similar to reading a physical book.

Additionally, it would be very useful to view two pages side-by-side or work in a dual-page (split) mode while taking notes.

This feature would greatly improve studying efficiency and overall usability.

    Thank you for your consideration.

  2. I would love to see a wider variety of folder emoji options in GoodNotes.

Currently, the limited selection makes it harder to visually organize folders in a way that reflects different subjects, moods, or purposes. Many users rely on visual cues for quick navigation, and expanding the emoji library would greatly improve usability and personalization.

For example, adding more categories such as symbols, Exclusive color for emojis, objects, or even allowing custom emoji (including iOS emojis) would make the experience much more intuitive and enjoyable.

This small change could significantly enhance folder organization and overall user satisfaction.

    Thank you for…

  3. I would love to see more symbols and icons to choose from for the folders. Syringes, the rod of Asclepius, band-aids, ambulances, buildings, various sports, body parts, animals, calculators, numbers, test tubes, bells, books… maybe based on emojis, or the ones available in Word

  4. There much templates to choose from… but most of them I don’t use. How about choosing favorite templates which you can choose on the top. That might speed up the workflow.

  5. In Nursing school, we take a lot of notes. I'm sure other subjects else too. But I wish I didn't have to scroll through dozens of pages to find something. I wish I was able to add a little tab on the side, color code it and name it. I know you can "flag" It but it's not very helpful because I have to open the side and then try to find the one page I flagged.
For example. If I download a book - I have to scroll through all the pages to look for the chapters. If the…

  6. Because many teachers speak quickly, the best way to take notes in class is to upload the PDF slides and annotate them directly. Most of the time, these slides are in landscape orientation (wider than they are tall). However, when you want to write your own summaries or do homework, it's much more convenient to use portrait orientation (taller than they are wide).
Currently, every time I add a new page after the slides, I have to manually rotate it, which is very annoying. It would be so much quicker if I only had to rotate the first added page,…

  7. Many things are are already moveable to accomodate different writing styles and workflows, which is amazing. That being said, even though I find that the minimap in the whiteboard is a very important and useful tool, as a lefty I am constantly hitting it accidentally (even when it is minimized) and it can be quite frustrating to have this be an issue when this has a solution that shows up in other parts of the UI/UX. I was suprised to find out that the minimap is locked in place in the bottom left corner even though it appears to be…

  8. Hi goodnotes is my go to app and searching accros 500 folders is becoming tedious so allowing pdf to have "tags" for example: my course note in algebra I put the tags "Course note" and "Algebra" and I can filter and find It in 2 seconds instead of putting it in favorite and look at all the others files that are favorited.

  9. A very easy fix I hope - please could the search bar not auto-select when trying to move files? The keyboard coming up is very jarring, blocks half of the location list and it feels more appropriate to not have this as default - personally I have never needed to search for a location and I imagine there aren't many use cases where users have so many folder layers that they require a search every time!

  10. Hi Goodnotes Team,

I am a heavy user of Goodnotes on iPad with a Magic Keyboard.

I would like to suggest adding keyboard shortcuts for page navigation, such as:

Next Page: (e.g., Cmd + Right Arrow)
Previous Page: (e.g., Cmd + Left Arrow)
Go to Specific Page: (e.g., Cmd + G)

Currently, I have to manually swipe or tap the screen to turn pages even while typing, which interrupts the workflow.

Having these shortcuts would significantly improve productivity for users who use external keyboards.

Please consider adding this feature in a future update. Thank you!

  11. Hello GoodNotes Team,

I have a small feature request regarding the page navigator.

On my previous 12.9-inch iPad, the page thumbnails were displayed four per row. I organized many of my bookmarked pages assuming this four-per-row layout.

After switching to a 13-inch iPad, the navigator now displays five thumbnails per row. Because of this, the layout of my bookmarked pages has been disrupted. The rows I organized are now mixed, which makes it difficult to recognize them at a glance.

It would be very helpful if users could customize the number of thumbnails per row (for example, choosing four instead…

  12. I’d love to see a persistent side navigation panel inside GoodNotes.

Right now, switching between folders or notebooks requires repeatedly pressing the back arrow and exiting screens. It would be much more efficient if there were a collapsible sidebar that lets users quickly access folders, recent notebooks, or favorites while staying inside their current note.

This would help maintain focus during studying and make navigation feel more fluid, similar to sidebar navigation in messaging or file management apps.

  13. I have two similar requests:

I am a private tutor so I usually have a couple of standard documents open on my iPad all the time (e.g. PDF of the periodic table). When I close the app (not minimise) or when I press the x button by mistake, I need to re locate it in my folders. I know I can 'favourite' it but it would be so much easier if there is an option to pin it (sort of like in Safari/other web browsers where you can pin open windows). That way it will always open when I open…

  14. A function where you can enlargen the miniatures in the miniature view mode would be handy. That way it is easier to find the correct page which you are looking for.

Perhaps through a preview mode for the individual pages, or better: a setting to see the pages in different patterns e.g. 3 pages next to each other, 2 pages next to each other or single page.

This would come especially handy for flashcards as well, as those are very hard to organise in the miniature mode.

  15. As of now, when you open the Miniature View of a Notebook, the pages are shown from the very start.

I suggest an option to either show the current page first or a button/option to auto-scroll to the current page.

Whenever I work with 300+ flashcards and just want to change the order of a card in the miniature view, I have to scroll a long time to find the current card which I am looking for. It's also very easy to miss when you have a large amount of cards/pages, since you only have the thin blue lining of…

  17. I would like to suggest adding a “Pin” feature to Infinite Canvas mode. As notes expand across a large canvas, it becomes increasingly difficult to relocate specific sections without repeatedly zooming and dragging around. This is especially frustrating when trying to find important content written earlier.

A Pin feature would allow users to mark specific locations on the canvas and quickly navigate back to them. Ideally, users could place pins anywhere, assign optional names (e.g., “Key Concept” or “Meeting Summary”), and access a panel listing all pins for one-click navigation.

This addition would significantly improve navigation efficiency, reduce time spent…

  18. I’m a frequent Goodnotes user on macOS and rely heavily on it to manage and review a large number of PDF documents.

One feature I strongly miss is the macOS “Quick Look” preview functionality — where pressing the space bar instantly displays a full-size preview of a selected file without fully opening it. This allows for extremely fast navigation through document lists and makes it easy to quickly inspect content before deciding to open a file.

In Goodnotes for Mac, the only available preview is the thumbnail view, which is helpful but too limited for efficiently scanning document contents when…

  19. By default, macOS allows us to use 'Command +' to zoom in and 'Command -' to zoom out of any app. This seems to be disabled on the Goodnotes app. Please try to enable this, it helps a ton on scaled displays.

  20. I think that the "Squeeze" Toolbar should always be on top layer of UI. Now that when you use the lasso tool it auto pops up the the UI bar. If I use squeeze since that was the last action I took that should be the UI element that I see.

Hopefully this is an easy fix.
