Favorite Side Tools
Having a small toolbar on the side that contains user’s favorite pens, highlighter, etc… will be able to add new colors to the favorite bar, and able to adjust the order of the pens on the favorite bar.

Straight handwriting
It would be helpful if GoodNotes recognizes uneven handwriting and would transform it into a straight line.
(just like the straight line function for the highlighter)14 votes -
Colour Options
Like to be able to change the colours for goodnotes and having only 3 options for the colours with one usually being black is quite restrictive and changing it every time can be tedious. Would be very nice if we could have more pen colour options on the toolbar. Thanks for considering my idea!

Add adaptation of Translation app
In the option box generated by long-pressing the word, there is currently only 'definition'. It would be more applicable if 'translation' was added.
长按单词产生的选项框中,目前只有‘定义’。如果增加‘翻译’会更适用。14 votes -
Change line width and style after you wrote, not only color.
Hello. In notability there is a feature that I miss in GoodNotes 5. In Notability after you wrote with Apple Pencil you can change the style, line width, line style and color. In GoodNotes you can only change the color. It would be important to be able to change the thickness and style of the line as well. Thanks.

Hexagonal Paper Template
Having a hexagonal would make chemistry note taking so much easier. Especially in higher level chemistry since there are so many different compounds you have to learn.

Permanent laser pointer
Add a "glow" style to the pen types or color options, or the option to keep laser pointer markings permanently.

rearrange page order in the thumbnails view
I hope that I can directly select multiple pages and rearrange their order in the thumbnails like what I can do in Notability.
I know that I can copy and paste page to rearrange the page order. But it's not convenient.
I'd appreciate it if you could add this feature.

Zoom into the flashcards when studying them
GoodNotes is an amazing app and I really appreciate all it can do. Recently, I started making flashcards with it. This is when I encountered a problem while I was trying to study those flashcards. I learned that I couldn't zoom in on the flashcards when in study mode. This is a major issue with the flashcards feature because my small iPhone screen does not show the details of the pictures that I attached, which makes it impossible for me to study these flashcards properly. Please try to fix this ASAP because zooming in on the images to see the…

Request for spread display function
I am a user living in Japan.
There is a request. It is a function to display in a spread. This is not about spread views. I want to display two consecutive pages like a book in one app. It will be very convenient when reading one document on the horizontal screen of the iPad.
I am not good at explaining in English, so I attached an image file.Thank you for the great app. I will continue to use it.

Lasso dotted-line is too thick when zoomed in
I like to have my notes very densely packed, so I typically use the finest thickness pen and zoom in nearly all the way.
However, when zoomed in, the lasso tool thickness (the blue dotted lines) becomes extremely thick and selecting small items is difficult.
Suggestion: When zoomed in, make the lasso line width thinner.

Quick Access/Favourite Tool Bar
A small bar that can be positioned around the edge of the screen. I use the Goodnotes app to take notes during Uni lectures and I find myself using the brush pen for titles and key info, and ball pen for the notes. When you have the app on half screen so that the powerpoint takes up one side you lose the access to the quick "one tap" colour selection.
The ideal quick bar would be able to move to either sides of the document you are taking notes on. You would be able to had a set style and…

‘Read only’ collaboration
I write exercises for my music students. When synchronising, I would like to have an option, that students can ‘ read only’ instead of ‘read and write’ . Just like many iCloud services work.
And how do I change the name of a folder? Can’t figure it out.
Great App! Thank you!14 votes -

Pair with Microsoft or PhotoMath to be able to solve math problems
As is a feature in OneNote, GoodNotes should add the ability to recognize math equations and to be able to solve it like PhotoMath or Microsoft in OneNote

Ability to overlay a grid on top of a page (to write straight)
Being able to overlay a grid that we can toggle on and off and also move around the page would be helpful for writing straight on pdf documents.
At the moment, all we can do is add a new page with the grid template. But for writing in PDFs (a digital assignment where you handwrite answers to questions, for example), there’s no way to overlay a grid to aid in writing straight.
Procreate has a similar grid feature where you can toggle the grid on or off and you can draw on top of it.

Add rounded corners to rectangle, triangle, etc. shapes.
This would given a more "drawn" feel to shapes.

Quick toggle/gesture between ‘read-only’ and ‘edit’ modes
I would love to see a quick toggle (like the double tap on Apple Pencil) to easily change to and from read-only mode. Maybe a gesture like the two-finger double tap for ‘undo’. This would be very helpful for being able to click hyperlinks and quickly navigating a document with many pages.

Inking Engine - Smoothing
Some tools like NotesPlus and Noteshelf seem to improve my handwriting so it is Smoother and more while other tools like GoodNotes don’t do this.
My writing seems to be more angular and ragged in GoodNotes.
I wonder if the authors of Good Notes have reviewed these other packages to get a sense of a different writing experience ?
Is this an area GoodNotes might address?
