5. Live editing on different platform at the same time

   I use GoodNotes App on MAC and IPad to keep my notes. However, when I need to use these two platforms at the same time, it will suffer because the syncing frequency is too low to immediately reflect what I edit on Mac on my IPad. Therefore I have to quit the app and re-open it to continue my work with Apple Pencil on iPad. Same happens on Mac when I need to insert a figure on the computer.

   I understand that it will cost a lot of energy(much more frequent request by the application to sync the current work) to provide such a feature. However, if this feature realized, GoodNote would be overwhelmingly better than any other.

   My suggestion is, you may add a Live Edit button which trigger the aforementioned mode. In this case, while Live Editing is closed, GoodNotes will not take much resources on network or battery.

6. Support iOS 11 Files App and full Two-Way iCloud Sync with PDF-Files

   Show the GoodNotes Files in the new iOS Files App as a pdf-Version to share and edit them easily with Apps like PDF-Expert.
   A two-way sync would be also nice to edit files on any devices from the Cloud and have them automatically updated in GoodNotes

9. Add the camera to the task bar, please.

   I attend a few conferences and constantly use Goodnotes, and get asked about it. I would love to be able to add the camera to the task bar. I miss some slides/information because of the time it takes to open the camera. Video would also be good to add. And voice recording. Then it would also be perfect for marking my students work and giving verbal feedback.

10. Create "Invisible Ink" for tv out mode.

    When using the tv out mode it would be useful to have a set up mode where the ink does not show up on the large presentation screen.

    This would allow a teacher to create a lecture not pdf for the class to see and then have solutions already completed only visible on the iPad.

    The ink could be selectable so that it can be revealed at an appropriate time. Finally, at the end of the class the template can be reset so that all of the ink is invisible to the class again.

12. Add a reminder ability to the notebooks

    I have not yet found any apps that let you annotate a PDF or hand write notes which also allows for a reminder pop up for when a note or notes need to be looked at again. Due dates to finish a. Project.....

    Why This Matters (User Perspective)
    Study and exam PDFs often require repeated OCR, compression, splitting, and conversion.

    The current export → convert → re-import workflow introduces friction and increases the risk of file loss or version confusion.

    Even a minimal set of conversion and utility tools inside GoodNotes would significantly elevate it from a “note-taking app” to a complete PDF-based learning and workflow hub.

    There have already been community requests asking for integrated OCR and processing for imported PDFs, indicating strong and ongoing user demand.

    If possible, I kindly ask the team to consider implementing this either as a core GoodNotes feature or as an official add-on / extension.

    Hello,
    I am a user who relies on GoodNotes primarily for PDF-based learning and professional workflows.

    GoodNotes is extremely strong in handwriting and annotation. However, when it comes to preprocessing and converting PDFs for study or work, users must leave the app and rely on external PDF tools, which significantly breaks the workflow.

    Currently, GoodNotes supports searching handwritten notes, typed text, and some PDF text. However, imported scanned PDFs without an OCR text layer are not searchable, and GoodNotes does not currently provide a way to apply OCR to already imported PDFs.
    As a result, scanned handouts, printed materials, and lecture PDFs cannot fully benefit from GoodNotes’ powerful search capabilities.

    Because of this limitation, many users must rely on external PDF apps to:

    Create searchable (OCR) PDFs

    Convert documents between formats

    Compress and organize pages

    This workflow requires repeatedly exporting files, converting them elsewhere, and re-importing them into GoodNotes, which is time-consuming and error-prone.

    In contrast, other PDF tools (such as UPDF and Wondershare PDFelement) provide a centralized “Tools Hub” that includes OCR, PDF ↔ Word/Excel/PowerPoint conversion, compression, merge/split, watermarks, Bates numbering, headers/footers, and batch processing in one place. The difference in productivity is very noticeable.

    For these reasons, I believe GoodNotes would greatly benefit from offering a PDF Conversion & Document Utility feature (“Converter Hub”), either as a built-in capability or as an official extension/partner feature.

18. bring back continuous text box and allowing use to set to specifc font color

    New update removed ability to stay on typing function and will revert back to Lasso. This is so annoying. Also bring back allowing the user to choose their default font color. My school uses dark colored ppts and when typing the auto selected black font makes it impossible to keep up with note taking as i constantly must highlight the text and change it to white font.

19. [Audio Recording] Allow recorded audio to be attached next to handwritten notes

    音楽の授業で、先生のお手本のフレーズをメモするために録音機能を使っています。手書きのメモの横に録音した素材を貼り付けることが出来たら、振り返りがもっと簡単になるのになぁと思っています。
    In music class, I use the recording function to write down the teacher's sample phrases. If you could paste the recorded material next to the handwritten memo, it would be easier to look back.

20. Universal color pallets

    Instead of having a separate color pallet for pens/ highlights/ text, have the option to use colors from one pallet on another tool. Ex: using pen color presets for text or highlighters. I often use the same color in different tools for my notes but in doing so I have to create the same color pallet for each tool.
