This space is dedicated to users on Apple devices (iPad, Mac, iPhone). If you’re using Goodnotes on Android, Windows, or Web, please visit this link.

Tips to make your suggestion visible and bring your idea to life:

  • Search existing threads. Your idea might already be under discussion. If so, feel free to add your input or vote on it. More votes = more visibility.
  • Create a new thread if it’s new. If your suggestion is unique, start a new thread. Write a short, clear headline that quickly conveys your main idea, and include context and details in the description.
  • Separate multiple ideas. If you have several suggestions, split them into individual topics so we can review (and others can vote on) each one more effectively.

  2. Adding the ability to attach pop up notes on highlighted words, similar with adobe acrobat. We should be able to minimize the notes after accessing them. This would clearly benefit students like me who likes to add further notes on books and PDFs without being limited to writing on the side of each page.

  4. If expanding the margins isn't possible, maybe there could be an option to have the pdf pages imported as vector images (like .svg) on a goodnotes page. That way you could move around and resize each page of the pdf to create margin space where it is needed. This is different from importing the pdf pages as rasterized images. Text should still be readable even if the imported page is scaled.

  5. I'm used to always copying & pasting links into my notes in order to support my research. It's frustrating that I can't do this in GoodNotes. If I copy & paste a link into a text box, it wont be clickable. Please consider making this feature a top priority in future updates because it is required for students, teachers and people doing research. My notes aren't as useful when I can't include links that will work. I really just want to be able to tap on a link to open it and then tap back to go to the GoodNotes…

  7. I use different size papers for different notebooks and have to change fonts in each one. One size does not fit all. Being able to have a default font for each notebook would be great. Also, some notebooks I use vertical scrolling, and some horizontal. Different defaults there would be great too. Other than that it is perfect for me. . Keep up the good work. .

  8. I'd love to be able to write in full screen mode - sometimes I'm just doing maths exercises, all I need is a black pen and double tap to erase. I just wish we could have the read-only mode screen real estate, while writing. I don't need the toolbar or document tabs most of the time!

  11. A "back to reading" option when browsing in the goodnotes files system would be most appreciated.

So say I leave a document I was reading in order to browse through the GoodNotes system, it would be nice to have a button which would send me back to where I was reading when I left the document.

  12. I would love to use a Goodnotes' planner, but there is one obstacle in the way for me, since reminders and events in those planners are not recognised by operating system.
I would love to have the option to sync those event/reminder information within Calendar and Reminders apps. So when I plan something (maybe within a special text field) into my planner, the event/reminder would be mirrored in those apps.

It would be even greater if it could go the other way as well - for the Reminders app: check in Reminders app = checks in Goodnotes but I am…

  14. A “stamp tool”:
This would allow users to natively create stamps of their own design using existing GoodNotes tools like shapes AND/OR import photos or shapes that can be added to an internal library of shapes to be used over and over. See below for functionality.

    User draws or writes something.
User selects the object with stamp tool.
The stamp tool saves the object into “library or repository of object.”
User can “stamp” the object repeatedly.

This is like the objects library in illustrator. You could have an “object selector tool” to select the items that go into the library.…

  16. I´m using the option flash cards on the ipad frequently, but it would be really great to improve this tool for usage on laptops. The cards, and shown answers, are really small, so its often impossible to check if you´ve got everything right, especially when the cards are rather full and the textsize is small.

  18. I'm personally very much not a fan of the navy-blue theme. I believe it would be an amazing UX implementation for GoodNotes to follow in the footsteps of Apollo for Reddit, for example, who offer a wide variety of aesthetic variations, see the attached picture for an example of what GoodNotes could implement!

  19. I need to do a lot of reading, whether it's class readings or readings that correspond to my interests. The problem is that I don't have time to fit all of it into my schedule. My eyes get tired from all of that reading and I often wish I could just relax my eyes but still listen to the books/articles being read. This would help me keep absorbing information and move forward even when I don't feel like reading. I wish GoodNotes had a feature that could read aloud for me PDF books and scanned articles.

    PDF books usually have…
