Shape Library
The existing shape tool uses a "draw and hold" feature to automatically recognize shapes. While useful, this can lead to incorrect shape detection, especially when drawing quickly in time-sensitive environments like college lectures. The tool may select the wrong shape, causing frustration and slowing down workflow.
Implement an option to pre-select specific shapes (e.g., rectangle, circle, arrow, straight line) before drawing, similar to the shape selection tools available in Microsoft OneNote or Word. This would allow users to choose their desired shape in advance and draw it more quickly and accurately without relying on the shape recognition feature.

Option to convert typed text into handwritten notes.
It would be great to have an option to convert typed text to handwritten notes in your writing style using AI. This could be available in the select bar above the text field when you press on it, with a button labeled Convert to Handwritten Notes.

[Tape] Snap Tape to Selected Area
I love the new tape feature but I have A LOT of content that I need to tape over at a time! I would really love it if we had the option to make a box around what we want to tape and have the shape snap and fill in (like we have for the shape snap feature). My only other option currently is to make the pen as big as possible and color over an entire paragraph at once which has been very time consuming!

Change color of converted math formula
The experimental math conversion tool for Goodnotes6 is fairly good. It can convert most of 1-liner math handwriting satisfactory!
However, it seems that the color of produced math formula is black only and can't be changed.
Please make it possible to change color of the produced formulas, like other objects such as lines and typed texts. Assuming LaTeX as the conversion backend, it shouldn't be very difficult to make it by inserting a preamble \color{colorname} just before the math script.11 votes -
when typing in double column
When typing in a double column, only the left column is used and the right column cannot be typed. Please improve the left column typing so that the right column typing can also be connected naturally.

Preserve Links when exporting to PDF
The ability to preserve the links that are added to notebooks when exporting to PDF. This would help immensely to continue to be able to navigate the documents with the hyperlinks that were created in the Goodnotes app. Obviously this would only apply to URLs and the links within the same document, not links to other notebooks but it would still be a huge help!

Highlight
I would like the highlight tool to work as a copy select tool works. When moving the pen along page we will be able to highlight. As well as implementing tapping to remove highlights.
Instead of having to lift pen to move down a row to highlight you just glide over the selected text you would like to highlight.
It would be much more efficient this way. I noticed this inconvenience when switching to apples book reading tool and highlighting in there was much more seamless. Thank you for taking the time to read this if you did.

Proper text highlight with pencil support
Currently there are two ways to highlight text from an imported PDF: using the highlight tool and highlighting freely the document with the aid of a pencil, or manually selecting the text and clicking on the highlight option.
The latter method is more flexible for tasks such as studying on a textbook, as the highlight adjusts in size with the underlying text. Unfortunately, it is a very time consuming approach as it requires to first select the text, wait for a menu popup and then select highlight.

Delete added "Preferred Languages"
In the setting "Handwriting Recognition" it is possible to "Add Language" to the preferred languages.
If I added a language by mistake, I would like to be able to remove/uninstall a falsely added language.

Edit Flashcards while studying
It would be great if there was the option to edit a flashcard while in practice/smart learn mode. Sometimes you spot errors while studying and when you do, at the moment you have to leave study mode and swipe through all your flashcards to fix it.

Bring my pen toolbar back
Now I have to click then select stroke size, which is make me get slower. Before It appeared in the toolbar and I only do one click, but for now two click is required. For me adding more colors doesn’t necessary (at all), I don’t always change the colors, but I always change the stroke size, so bring it back please 🙏🏼, I’m so upset to click for change stroke size, can you make me change immediately whenever I want to.

Color palette for typed texts
It would be awesome to have the possibility to save an individual color palette for typed texts just like it is for handwritten texts. At the moment there’s just the option to save one explicit favourite text style respectively text color.

I think adding a tool for drawing curves for diagrams that for example engineering students must draw for their notes will be very helpful like the one exists in CollaNote.

sync button
Add a sync button on the main bar to the different goodnotes platforms. I simultaneously work between goodnotes on my MacBook and iPad. It rarely auto syncs in real-time. I need back out of my current document in both platforms, go into settings, go into icloud settings, and then click use icloud. I toggle off in both then toggle on in both for my changes to sync real-time. It's a nuisance. I love goodnotes otherwise.
