[Audio Recording] Text-to-speech Reader
I use a different app (speechify) to read off pdfs, etc to me. It works really well and helps me get through readings in in uni I would struggle with other wise. However, I much prefer to highlight my readings, etc as a doc in goodnotes. I think such a feature would be immensely helpful for college students in good notes.

I think text to speach would be extremely beneficial for all users, particularly people who have dyslexia and other learning differences. It would be more inclusive for everyone and i believe that more people in my school would use it for taking notes and completing work in school. I have already spoke to teachers and students in my school about good notes and how amazing it is for visual learners. This was many teachers only concern. Thank you

When we write something an audio tape would be really helpful. It works like the tape function but an audio is played when tapped. It will really benefit language learners as they can add the pronunciation on it and listen to it back.

I completely agree with you!! I wish they had a built in text to speech option as well. I have tried to use the settings on my iPad itself, but like you said it does not work with Goodnotes, unlike other apps.
For example, I was changing the speaking rate on the iPad’s settings, but when I go into Goodnotes and have it read a selection of text, it is a faster speed of reading.

Ability to read/speak pdfs, notes, etc. similar to other text-to-speech apps (with non-robotic voices). As a college student that takes in auditory information better than reading myself it would be very handy to be able to have papers i upload into goodnotes be read.

Yes I think speechify style read this would be killer feature for reading textbooks faster. I use a good iPad and Mac app where you can select the readable area which is usefully to avoid the app reading page numbers etc.

It would be nice to have a function where the notes can be read out to the user as some people are better audio learners. It would also help with reviewing materials while on the go or for multi-tasking.

I would love if Speechify could integrate into Goodnotes as the voices, word highlighting and speed controls are the best I've experienced. Currently, I listen/read in Speechify and note take/highlight in Goodnotes but it is really clumsy & time-consuming manually switch constantly. Speechify controls in Goodnotes would just be incredible, it is hard to believe that there is no unified note taking & quality text to speech solution yet for PDFs

I am trying to use the build in text to speech reader with iPad OS however goodnotes is not compatible as it states "document content area" instead of the content in the document.
I would really appreciate having some text to speech functionality to make studying easier.

I am a new grad student with ADHD and reading especially at 1.5 speed would really be able to help me get through all my readings. I wish I had known you don't have text to speech before buying it. Please add!

100% - i’ve just found out that it doesnt support this yet. Thats an unfortunate major set-back. That means ive got to open my PDF in another app to read it aloud, then find the same page in GoodNotes, find the same text and then i can highlight it. Not a good workflow.

Please add the read text to pdf files for GoodNotes. My dyslexic son must use GoodNotes for his math class but at this time no option to have the text to be read aloud.

This will actually be a useful feature. It would help students memorize the content better. It's also helpful in school settings. Since my job involves teaching, I'd love a feature like this.

This is actually baked into iOS and Mac OS - they simply need to add it to their menu that pops up when you select text with a cursor.
Annoyingly - on Mac app you cannot select text with a cursor at all. I am unable to copy a word from a pdf on goodnotes and paste it elsewhere, not to mention read a selection aloud like I can do on every other mac program.
I’m only talking about pdfs here with text that is already parsed - it’s no work for Goodnotes to integrate - iOS does it all

We are still asking for this feature, please. It is an accessibility need. Text to speech should be build into the app.
