[Toolbar] Support Customization
Bring back the option to customise the toolbar. I see a recent update has partially returned this feature (allowing to customise the main toolbar options), but this needs to carry over to each toolbar options (pen, pencil, highlighter, etc). Allow reorganising the squeeze pop up menu. This is meant to help streamline productivity, but now having my most used tools all over the place, I’m wasting time scrolling to find them.

Prior to the latest version... We could put the Zoom Window in Toolbar Customization... now this zoom window has been moved to further right dropdown...
The previous version was very helpful and useful especially when in use for live teaching in class... as we could easy access for this feature.

I genuinely never go out of my way to give feedback for companies. However, I created an account to do so here and highly urge the people of Goodnotes to bring back squeeze pop up menu customization.
I'm currently a college student. Myself, along with many others who have utilized this software are now second guessing it's productivity as we now have scroll through obsolete and unused tools.
When I was first introduced to Goodnotes, I was amazed at it's capability for workflows and it's ability to customize how the user deemed fit. Some have moved over to other softwares and I hope not to do the same but as it stands, Goodnotes usefulness has diminished significantly due to this new update.

Yes, please, it's funny that it worked before the last update. Please, wonderful people of Goodnotes, bring it back.

Please make the toolbar customizable. I use the pencil, eraser, and highlighter 90% of the time and now have to go into a submenu to access. I also used to be able to see the recent stickers previewed in the toolbar and could easily grab one, but now have to scroll and navigate. Please bring back the previous toolbar or at least give the option to customize. Thank you! I love goodnotes!

Hello GoodNotes Team,
A feature I think would be very helpful is customizable toolbar shortcuts. Currently, the toolbar has fixed options, but allowing users to rearrange tools or add their frequently used tools would save time and improve workflow efficiency.
Key benefits:
Quick access to favorite pens, highlighters, or shapes.
Reduces time spent navigating menus.
Tailors the app to personal note-taking style.
This small change could make a big difference for daily users.

When I select text, the floating format text toolbar pops up. It used to have Copy as one of the shown toolbar buttons. Now it is on the More option. I have never used the indent or bullets option, so I would like to customize this toolbar to put the buttons I use the most at the forefront.
As a side note, it would be helpful to have in your material somewhere an image and name for all the toolbars (floating and not) as there are a lot of suggestions for toolbars (generic). I like some of the docking options mentioned for toolbars as well

The recent update on iPad makes a lot of things worse. Now there are 2 menus for writing instead of one. This takes twice as long to start writing. Now I have to click a dropdown on the right to get the zoom window, instead of it being on the actual bar, so now that takes 2 clicks as well. Why not let me customize the features that I actually use instead of making assumptions. As someone who paid for this program I am not happy.

Since the last update, there’s been re-grouping of the function in GN.
Now, the lasso tool got a fixed place, making it much less convenient to reach it.
Each time I need it, I need to scroll all the way until I find it.
Please make it more flexible. -

October Update Suggestions:
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO US <333
About September 2025 Update: Can you allow us to customize our toolbar like before? Please. WORK ON IMPROVING ‘ASK FEATURE’ ESPECIALLY FOR LARGE FILES/TEXTBOOKS. ALLOW US TO MAKE QUIZZES FROM THERE WITH UNLIMITED NUMBER OF ITEMS. WE WANT AN INTERACTIVE QUIZ MAKER
The best note-taking app ever! I have more suggestions to make Goodnotes even better: Improve Transcribe feature to make it more accurate. Also, if you could integrate other languages in it like Filipino on my recordings. Improve AI and add more pencil tools. Integrate Apple Smart script. Further, improve your flashcards by making it more like a game-like quizzing as is the case in Gizmo app. Please add built-in flashcards AI maker like that of Notability by improving the existing Flashcards maker. APPLE CALENDAR, CRAFT DOCS APP, APPLE REMINDERS integrations.. Lastly, Ability to automatically turn highlights into texts on bookmarks like that of in Moonreader app. Looking forward to these in your future updates. Thanks.
New Bug noticed: THE ASK FEATURE ISN’T WORKING AT ALL! Please fix this ASAPP
UPDATE: LIQUID TEXT, Flashcards AI maker, and AI Voice Chat while studying my notes features please, Improved Timer (with daily goals, stat, apple calendar integration to track it), Improved Goodnotes AI. PLEASE CREATE A LEARNING COACH FOR GOODNOTES LIKE IN GEMINI AI. Lastly, please add a bookmark/dot markers on the Canvas/infinite notes so that we can easily pinpoint the main ideas if we decide to make lots of figures/mindmaps. To do this, you can easily add a ‘Map’ button on the Ribbons tab just like in ‘Add an outline’ to regular notes.

Give users the freedom to reorder the shortcut tools that appear when tapping the Apple Pencil. This would make the workflow much smoother, allowing everyone to prioritize their most-used tools for faster, more intuitive access.

The new update has removed a lot of customizable options for the toolbar. The relocation of some easy accessible features and inability to remove others lessens the user experience.
Ex: I am an active student learning another language for fun who personally does not use “tape” or “pencil”, however I am constantly toggling the “zoom window”. The inability to reorganize/customize which “writing tools” appear, in which order, and the additional steps to simply toggle the “zoom window” has worsened my experience using the application.
I really hope this feature is reinstated. -

After the new update, the toolbar is:
1: Intrusive - floats in the middle of your page.
2: Convoluted - many more key presses required to access basic tools with many of them missing from the toolbar with no ability to add them / no idea where they went (zoom window).
3: Non-customizable????????? Why can't I customize the toolbar? I never use the pencil. I never use tape. Why is the lasso not with the writing tools? At LEAST give me the option to change the order of tools not only on the tool bar, but on the tool palette with pencil pro.
Literally NOBODY is asking for LESS customizability. Please bring back the old functionality that your users USED to love you for. Are you guys even seeing the response to this update?

Goodnotes has established itself as a leading note-taking app for individuals and organizations, but to better serve business and enterprise users, targeted improvements are essential. Drawing insights from industry practices, user feedback, and technical considerations, here are actionable recommendations to enhance Goodnotes for enterprise environments:
1. Enhanced Enterprise Management and MDM Integration
Businesses require centralized control over app deployment, licensing, and version management. Goodnotes should expand its Mobile Device Management (MDM) compatibility to streamline workflows:Version Control: Allow IT administrators to toggle between Goodnotes versions (e.g., 5 and 6) via AppConfig without reinstalling the app, ensuring seamless transitions and backward compatibility1.
Bulk License Management: Simplify license distribution and revocation through MDM platforms like Jamf, including automated updates for enterprise-wide deployments.
Custom Configuration Templates: Provide pre-configured templates for common enterprise use cases (e.g., legal, education, healthcare) to reduce setup time.
2. Collaboration and Workflow Optimization
Enterprise users often work in teams, necessitating robust collaboration tools:Real-Time Multi-User Editing: Enable synchronous editing with granular permissions (view, comment, edit) to align with tools like Google Docs or Microsoft Teams.
Integration with Enterprise Ecosystems: Deepen compatibility with platforms such as Microsoft 365, Slack, and SharePoint for seamless file sharing and task management.
Advanced Annotation Features: Add threaded comments, @mentions, and task assignment capabilities within documents to streamline feedback loops.
3. Document Customization and Accessibility
Addressing user-reported pain points, such as limited margin space, can significantly improve productivity3:Dynamic Page Layouts: Introduce adjustable margins, customizable templates, and automated spacing optimization to maximize note-taking space.
AI-Powered Organization: Implement smart tagging, OCR search enhancements, and auto-categorization for large document libraries.
Accessibility Features: Support screen readers, high-contrast modes, and keyboard shortcuts to comply with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).

Please let us customize the toolbar!
- custom order
- hide toolsI never use the tape or the stickers for example - I want to be able to hide those from the toolbar so I have easy access to the things I do use.
Especially for vertical use on the iPad it’s really annoying, that I have to scroll through the toolbar all the time.
