More PDF Features! (PLEASE READ, PERFECT FOR STUDENTS!)
I recently switched to a system in which I'm taking notes using a Rocketbook, then putting those PDF scans into Goodnotes to store and annotate into notebooks for each class. I would love if there was some features for that in particular.
- The ability to use precision eraser directly on the PDF. (I want to erase this diagram I drew! Or erase it then resize! Having to cover it with a shape is way to finicky, it makes adding new content over the shape very difficult.
- The ability to edit the color of text! I only use Black pens, so…

- Text Tool Enhancements
Text Input Issues: Since upgrading to Goodnotes 6, typing has become frustrating. When clicking to type, the app often selects the entire PDF text block instead of placing a cursor. Please allow users to tap anywhere to start typing immediately without triggering existing text blocks. Currently, it's particularly difficult with a mouse or finger compared to the Apple Pencil.
Custom Text Styles: Currently, only one default style can be saved. Please allow users to create and save multiple custom text presets. Additionally, include letter spacing (kerning) as a customizable parameter within these styles.

Infinite canvas is not searchable
The infinite canvas currently does not export as a searchable pdf file. When we export the file, it works like a picture which gets pixelated when we zoom

LOCKING ITEMS IS A START, BUT... NEEDS IMPROVEMENT!
Recently, a "lock object" feature was introduced which is AMAZING, thank you. However, as others have noted, sometimes a whole page is an image (say a form that you're filling out, working with other little images or handwriting on top of it). We're all doing it, I'm sure you don't need a picture. It's great that I can lock the base layer, but still EVEN IF I've already sent it to the back, if I select it, it visually brings it front and now I can't see the objects on top. Se sabe que si deseas escribir con alguna tipografía para que la letra sea bonita sale un recuadro para escribir dentro y es incómodo. Deberían tener en configuración " embellecimiento de escritura " de forma automática como ocurre en freenotes.

아이패드 프로에서 가로화면으로 사용중인데 텍스트문서 파일을 생성하고 작성하면 저렇게 화면의 일부만 사용가능합니다. 양옆의 큰 여백이 계속 있어요. 이 여백을 없애고 텍스트문서를 꽉차게 보고싶어요.
그리고 텍스트문서에도 일반 노트처럼 페이지를 나눠서 페이지 넘기기 기능이 생기면 좋겠어요.1 vote -
PDF export with outline
I know that using "editable" PDF export, the outline is appended. But this type of export is absolutely huge and provides no use for someone to whom I just want to send my notes. It would be much appreciated to be able to export "flattened" PDF with outline.

AirPlay Blurry Text and Images
This seems like a bug and it makes Goodnotes almost unusable for me. On my iPad I can see all the text and images fine, but on AirPlay, my students see a very pixelated version of all text and images.
This happens both on whiteboards and pages, which leads me to think that it has something to do with a parameter that you might have set for the render resolution. The render resolution is too low for the current zoom level.
This bug is making it really difficult to teach, could we potentially downgrade to an older version?

Making site more accessible
Hello, I really enjoy your site. I work at a community college with students with disabilities and I refer students often. I noticed when I ran your site through wave.webaim.org and there were a few areas that could be easily fixed. I am requesting that you use the site to improve the accessibility.

Please make the vertical scrolling smoother.
It is clanky and feels like it has friction for every page. It really kills the experience.
Also it would be a lot better if you could make the pages continuous when scrolling vertically like in Notability.1 vote -
Auto-Capitalization BROKEN
This isn’t an idea, but a broken part of the app. Currently, when a text box is made and anything is handwritten into it, the text is not capitalized, even if there was no way to misinterpret the letter. For example, it is impossible to mix up an uppercase G with a lowercase g, yet anything typed with an uppercase G will be switched to lowercase, including the beginning of the sentence. Goodnotes Page Separation
I love Goodnotes so much as a full time graduate student in chemistry. I can draw molecular structures, fill out pdf assignments with handwritten answers, and edit my work super easily.
I spend a lot of time uploading PDFs for homework assignments which allows me to write directly on them and export the pages into my grading platform. An idea that I have had (mostly for aesthetic purposes) is regarding the outline performance in a notebook; I add important pages to my outline, but its not necessarily a helpful tool until my notebook is over 50 pages or so. study sets
Why can't I slide pages while using study sets? When I'm in reading or editing mode (rather than in learning or practicing mode), it's unable to swipe left to add new pages and to swipe right to check the previous one. That's never happened before and it's really frustrating. Hope to be solved asap.

Stage Manager bug: minimized window sticks to screen edge
On iPad, when using Stage Manager (Show Mode), minimizing an app window does not behave as expected. Instead of collapsing or disappearing, the minimized window remains visible as a shrunken panel stuck at the edge of the screen. This creates visual clutter and interferes with multitasking, since the window continues to occupy space even though the user intended to minimize it.
