  1. An option to manually set the rotation of fountain pen tip. When you turn off the recognize pen rotation option, which is a nice feature, it sets in an oblique angle. It would be nice to be able to manually rotate the pen tip and set it whichever angle you want it.

  2. I have been using Goodnotes for several years as my main teaching tool. I regularly project my iPad screen for several hours in class and work live on the material. With Goodnotes 6 this worked reliably. The page was consistently sharp, even while editing.

Since version 7.0.0 this has clearly changed. I am currently on version 7.0.46 and the issue is still there.

What I observe is the following. Images that are not selected become visibly blurry. As soon as I select an image, it immediately turns sharp again. Text behaves in the opposite way. While I am typing in…

  3. Palm rejection often fails. If you are annotating with a pen over a text box it constantly selects the text box (Sometime while I'm writing a word!). There used to be a setting where you could prevent different objects from being selected unless that specific tool was being use (i.e. you could only select a text box when you were using the text box tool)

  4. The new update on mac makes it so that you cant just tap on the screen and type based on the lines of the page, you have to go through so many steps just to start typing, this has made it extremely annoying to take notes quickly, I suggest bringing back normal typing and keeping the holding page for whole page typing as an add on for people who want it.

  5. Add More Granular Range Options to Pen Sliders (Tip Sharpness ~ Pen Flatness)

Currently, the pen settings provide only fixed percentage options for sliders such as:

    Pen Tip Sharpness (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%)

    Pressure Sensitivity (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%)

    Pen Flatness (0%, 33%, 66%, 100%)

For example, pen tip sharpness can only be selected from preset values like 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100. However, I would like to set more precise values such as 65% or 80%.

This limitation is especially noticeable with pen flatness, where the selectable range jumps directly from 66% to 100%. I wish…

  6. Please allow for a way to turn auto correct on and off for individual documents, I have some documents where I use a lot of abbreviations or some that I like to just quickly scribble something down. It gets annoying though when there are constant red lines underneath because I spelt it wrong (because spelling is not very important for these documents). But I also do not want to turn auto correct off because I still have a lot of documents that I use the autocorrect feature.

  9. Please give us the option to change the stroke settings on pre-written notes. For example, if I am able to increase the stroke width of a note that I've previously written without having to expand the whole thing, that would be amazing. I would be able to make cooler notes and tend to forget to change the size when moving on to a different topic or sub-subject, for example. When I forget to change sizes, it takes me a lot more work, so this would be very nice. Plus, look at this cool title slide I made. It took a…

  10. Good afternoon, I am writing to tell you that I have been a goodnotes user for approximately 5 years. I am testing the new update you have made, and I have a negative comment. I wanted to tell you that I have found the control of the shapes a little uncomfortable. When selecting a line for example, the blue dots that appear at the ends to edit the shape are a little annoying. Previously (a few months ago), when you selected a shape, those dots reduced their size to the thickness (approximately) of the shape line, even when zooming in.…

  11. When annotating an image that I imported onto the note, it would be amazing that if/when I move the image that whatever I wrote would move with it as if I wrote on the actual image itself. Currently, I could use the lasso tool but that seems very clunky for such a smooth interface such as Goodnotes

  13. Standard pencil feels too transparent and unrealistic. Please make it look more natural and much less transparent, more like a real colored pencil.

  14. Please fix the issue where handwriting strokes become stretched and unintentionally connect to other letters when Apple Pencil Hover is enabled! Writing feels natural when Hover is turned off, but this issue always occurs when Hover is enabled.

When hovering the Apple Pencil near buttons, the interaction animations either do not exist or feel awkward compared to Apple’s apps and other well-designed apps. (The buttons only fade instead of changing size or responding naturally.)
Also, I do not think the keyboard shortcut hints need to appear when hovering over these buttons. (This applies to all buttons.)

  15. Write in Place makes the page automatically shift to the left while writing, so your hand can stay almost in the same position. It does not matter where on the page you begin writing. As soon as you write a letter or a word, the system measures how far your pen moves to the right. The page does not move during the stroke itself, but every time you lift the pen, it immediately shifts to the left by exactly that amount.

This is especially important for cursive writing: if you write a whole word in one continuous motion, the page…

  16. I would like to request the addition of tip sharpness, pressure sensitivity, and tip flatness options to the highlighter tool.

With these features, the shape of the highlighter stroke could change depending on the tilt of the pen tip, and setting the tip flatness to 100% could produce a more angular, chisel-like highlighter shape rather than a rounded one.

These controls are essential for achieving more precise, realistic, and professional highlighting behavior, and they would significantly enhance the flexibility and usability of the highlighter tool.

  17. Text tool feels clunky compared to Google Docs

Issue: Copy/paste, selecting text, and typing across pages doesn’t feel smooth or reliable.
Why it’s annoying: The friction breaks flow and makes typed notes feel like a worse experience than handwriting.
Request: Improve the text tool to behave more like Google Docs:

Auto-add pages as text grows (no manual page management)

Smoother transitions across pages when selecting/typing/erasing

    More reliable copy/paste behavior

  18. I found an issue where custom fonts installed on iOS (e.g., via the Bakey font app) do not appear in the font list when Goodnotes 6 uses the new Whiteboard-enabled UI.

    Here are the details:

✔ Old UI (no Whiteboard option)

“New note” menu does not show the Whiteboard button

Font toolbar is in the top ribbon

    Custom fonts appear normally

✔ New UI (with Whiteboard — released around Sep 25, 2025)

“New note” menu includes a Whiteboard button

Font toolbar becomes a floating popup near the text box

Custom fonts do NOT appear in the font picker

    Happens across…

  19. This feature was previously there but recently been taken away. It is very cumbersome to custom the type, size and colour of the font every time when i try to write. So this feature called “save as default” option should be there for typing font, size and colour.

  20. Hello GoodNotes Team,

I’ve recently noticed that in the latest version of GoodNotes for iPad or Iphone, the “full-page text input” mode no longer provides an option to change the font size and style.

In previous versions, users were able to freely edit both the font size and font style while using full-page text mode. This was especially useful for multilingual users like me who often type in Chinese and Japanese — since these languages have different character heights, being able to adjust the font size ensures that the text aligns properly within each line.

    In the current version, however,…
