  • Search existing threads. Your idea might already be under discussion. If so, feel free to add your input or vote on it. More votes = more visibility.
  • Create a new thread if it’s new. If your suggestion is unique, start a new thread. Write a short, clear headline that quickly conveys your main idea, and include context and details in the description.
  • Separate multiple ideas. If you have several suggestions, split them into individual topics so we can review (and others can vote on) each one more effectively.

  1. Using Whiteboard quite intensively right now there is one thing I‘d love to be added: pins! For example the app prodrafts has that feature on their whiteboard where you can place a pin anywhere on the whiteboard by long pressing somewhere. You can name that pin and set a color. There‘s a pins menu where you can see all your pins and by tapping on one quickly navigate to its place on the whiteboard. When zooming out the pin gets bigger so that when fully zoomed out you see all these „isles“ on your whiteboard with their pins readable, making…

  2. Fix the zoom bug in text docs. When I click on Zoom in, it doesn't do anything. I have the same issue with increasing font size as well.

  3. In the zoom window (top right) there are the buttons voor jumping to the next line, close the window and the 3 dots. Would it be possible to get these button in white instead of blue. Iam using iPads color filters in red when working in dark places like theaters........ And these buttons are really hard to see when using the colour filters. If they are white as the other buttons this will help. See picture of the buttons

  6. Different suggestion from the much needed sub-outlines (see the 600+ voted on suggestion by Daniel Wyatt “Sub-Outlines in Outline”) which would bring in a collapsible feature in Outline.

This is about being able to assign, to different elements of the outline, headings which would be integrated into the Outline system. Right now the document may have different internal headings, but if I add these to the GoodNotes Outline, they are difficult to keep in their actual order.

The suggestion is as follows :
Include the most common and convenient method to add headings using the # (as is possible in…

  7. We should have the option to create/edit hyperlinks within Goodnotes. Pages get added and moved around and mess up the hyperlinks and we need the ability to fix them so the hyperlinks in our notebook or journal are still usable.

  8. When I import some PDFs their outlines are imported too. I love this feature. I have noticed that when this happens, the outlines have sub-outlines to make navigating the outlines easier.

However, I can not create this in my own GoodNotes outlines. It only works when I import a PDF that already has this structure built into it.

I would like to have a feature in GoodNotes where I can create sub-outlines in my notebooks.

  9. So far so good!
I’d like to see a new layout implemented. I’m sure most users use Outlines to organize their notebooks so it’d make perfect sense to have a fast way to access the outline of the notebook without having to press on the four Rectangle button and then click on Outline (when being in thumbnails or favorites).
So my recommendation is to have a button to directly show the notebook outline, since I’m working a lot with lectures slides and I have one notebook for each course. The placement of the button could be near the title on…

  10. Optimize PDF Export Size, notes with three photos have more than 10 MB in one page! Now we use other Apps to optimize the exported PDF, it would be great to control this in Goodnotes

We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).

With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.

How to open a new window:

You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:

    - the app icon from the dock
    - documents from the library
    - folders from the library
    - individual pages from the document thumbnail view
    - tabs from the…
