Quick scroll using side bar
I want to be able to use the scroll indicator on the right of the page to quickly scroll through the document, rather than using the galley feature.

Hi, it would be great if I could also dictate a text with Goodnotes.
I did not find any information on whether I can use the dictation function with Goodnotes, so I assume I can't.

radical
Please add the square root symbol (aka the radical) to the recognized shapes so when you draw one freehand it snaps to the correct shape. It can be difficult drawing one without the top part getting squiggly. (tags: math, algebra, calculus, statistics, science, engineering, shapes)

Add the possibility to edit an existing PDF, instead of edit a copy of it.
It would be amazing if it was possible to edit an existing PDF. Right not, Goodnotes can't, and the only way to actually have the modified PDF as output, is to manually export all of it.
Imagine you have a sync folder (maybe with Dropbox, or Syncthings, etc), and you open a PDF (that is inside that sync folder) with Goodnotes. You start to edit the PDF with Goodnotes and everybody that has that sync folder, have the edits updated almost in real time. This is not possible right now, while it is possible in other PDF apps like PDF…5 votes -
Reminder entry with handwritten notes
Many people use good notes for planner or as a diary. It would be very helpful one could add a reminder entry or calendar entry during taking notes . For example just button that shows entry of reminder at that place. Also reminder app will have an entry so that it will notify you when needed. Perhaps as a separate purchase. Like pencil planner app in app store.

Outline/ Stroke for Text
I really wish they would add to their text options a stroke/outline. This would be especially helpful for headings. You can duplicate writing, change the colour and size but trying to line it up never gives a perfect outline.

Presentation mode in split screen
I use GoodNotes for teaching (and it‘s great for that). However I‘d love widgets like timers for students. I use classroomscreen.com for timers and soundlevel sensors, which are oddly specific requirements for teachers. So I don‘t think features like these will be implemented.
If I could use the presentation mode while in splitscreen, I could show timers/other widgets on one side, while not losing space in my GoodNotes document. Also I don‘t want students to see messages popping up on my screen.5 votes -
Resize highlighter line length
Allow for the length of the highlighter shape to be resized in length only. If I were to create a highlight line that is a bit too long or short, I do not want to also resize the height of the shape.
This would be better than having to redraw the line.

Mode Switching
Hi - I love Goodnotes, but it's too cumbersome to repeatedly switch between read-only mode and editing mode and it creates needless cognitive burden (e.g. you have to think about which mode you're in).
It would be great to have a setting where I can enable hyperlinks (e.g. navigational links) to work AT ALL times - even when I'm in editing mode. In such a scenario, I could happily edit with my Apple Pencil (including scribbling over hyperlinks), but the moment I touch a hyperlink with my finger, Goodnotes would take me to that link.
This feature alone would help…

Lernkarten in Reihenfolge abfragen!

Make the stylus/brush design used for the laser writing a regular pen stylus
Everyone I know loves the stylus used for the laser pointer writing feature but its not actually a stylus you can use to write notes!! That pen style is so nice and I would love to write my notes with it!

MORE PEN SIZES
I suggest pen sizes bigger than 2.0mm! More variety is always better.

continue sheet
When you write on the last sheet,it had better add a new sheet automatically after the last one sheet,we don’t need to use finger to pull up,and the sheet be continued.

custom colour palate
Please allow a setting to save custom colour choices for every time use. I like I have to change the colour palate options everytime to my needed colours before I can write a new note. I mean there should be an option to create on colour palate and save it for later use and not just the default you have provided.

Page navigator on the right side of full page
Now, one has to go all the way to the left to bring out the page finder, choose one out of the small preview hoping I got the right one, because if not I’ll have to bring out the finder again and repeat until I find the page. This is incredibly unintuitive and time-consuming. Please move the page finder button to the right and allow preview on the sidebar with the selected page in the main window to allow easy page finding. Notability already does that. My preferred app is GoodNotes, so fingers crossed this will be updated soon.

Lefthanders - simple but gamechanging feature
When we left-handed people (and i guess it’s the same problem for right-handed people at the right side of the page) write on goodnotes , we cannot rest the left hand on the screen of the ipad while writing when beginning a sentence, because the paper cannot be moved around. So our hand is always partly on the edge of the ipad partly on the table.
So if it was possible to pull and push the paper around on the ipad as we want, we could calmly rest our left hand on the screen when writing. To understand what i…
