Duplication
When making diagram I use shapes, I often need to have multiple circles or squares of the same size, since it is inconvenient and hard to draw each one in the exact same size my only option is to copy and then paste them, which is ok but if we can have two in one option (duplicate) the workflow would be faster. Duplication would be great for everything, not just shapes though.

Automatical recognition of texts and pictures so that we can adjust them easily
It would be so helpful if the app actually recognized pictures and texts automatically, so that we can shift things easily, change the color or size of a text or edit the text in general ( as I want to summarize some texts in my lectures often into sharp and short statements). Also the recognition of photos and direct cutting, swirling, positioning somewhere else...
ALSO SHARPER HIGHLIGHTERS which just go STRAIGHT AND AUTOMATICALLY RECOGNIZE THE END OF THE WORD. So many times I need to re-highlight, so that the full word is actually highlighted in an organized manner.

The goodnote’s eraser
The option inside the eraser itself is good, although it could be better if the eraser does not delete many pixel when it touch one pixel of pen.

Importing documents from Office (Powerpoints.etc) and from Mac Share button
As medical students, we get a lot of different files to annotate and study. Goodnotes is an awesome app and without it, I couldn't stay organized.
However, I have noticed two big flaws, and fixing them would greatly grow user satisfaction.
1st:
It would be good to get an option for Goodnotes to Mac's share button like in iPadOS. It would be a quicker way to add content to Good note without dragging and importing separate documents.2nd:

Moving to a different folder should remember the last folder
I use GoodNotes on iPadOS for marking students' work. I normally have the files in a folder "To Mark" and once I mark them I move them to a folder "Marked". I do so by clicking on the name of the document and choosing "Move to a Different Folder" in the menu that opens up. Alas, every time I do this, the file browser starts at the top of the hierarchy. It would very convenient if GoodNotes would default to the previously used folder. It would save me (# students) x 4 clicks!!

PDF pages display setting
Sometimes when I read and take notes on lecture PowerPoint pdf on GoodNotes, I feel like the pages display are too big (I used an iPad Pro) esp when the content on the slides is not very compact. So I wonder if it’s possible to set how the pdf to be displayed, like for horizontal it can be set to 2x2, 3x2. Or for vertical, it can be set to 2x4, 2x6, or even 3x4 etc instead? Overwrite old export when doing new export to Google Drive
As a teacher, I use GoodNotes as a smart board and do work in class, I upload notes to Google Drive for students to see later. I continually upload notes as certain parts of a document. I would love if at the start I upload the note to Google Drive, and part way through the lesson I export again to Google Drive, that the orginal one in drive is overwritten so that the new one is there for students. This way I don't end up with 3-4 files with the same name and have different things in them and students…

Category shortcut
I just need “categories” shortcut button as in Goodnotes 4. This is THE MOST convenient thing that this app MUST HAVE. Many people have a lot of files and folders. We just want to reach to the file we want to use instantly when it pops in our head without tapping “back and back, and back, and back” over and over just to reach the main “Documents” page first. That’s why the Goodnotes 4 has advantage over Goodnotes 5.

Improvements to PDF, colour organization, disable highlighter layering

import long texts
If I want to import longer texts into GoodNotes via the clipboard that are longer than one page, the text that no longer fits on the page should be automatically inserted on the following pages.

Readwise integration of highlights.
Hi. GoodNotes is my favorite way to read PDFs. It would be great if you oils have a more sophisticated highlighting system that could export to Readwise.

Lasso parts of an image/picture
Please add the option to select and copy parts of the inserted image using the lasso tool.
For example: if there’s an image with 12 numbers in it and you want to use each of the numbers separately, you should be able to lasso each of them and copy it to the same page, instead of having to make multiple copies of the same image and having to crop each one of them to become a single number you need.5 votes -
Memorization Pen
Pen with a solid colour, allowing hiding words (keypoints). After tapping on it, the colour becomes transparent, tap once again then the colour becomes solid. It's definitely more useful and flexible than the flashcard.

Vertical reading, horizontal note taking
Hi, I’m a Uni student and often times have heaps of PDF photocopies to read.
I scroll horizontally to read them as they are often times photocopies of books.
Therefore I don’t want to ‘interrupt’ the flow of the document to insert a blank page to take notes on.
I figured that if you could keep scrolling vertically to read but on each page swipe horizontally to add a page next to it to take notes on it’d be a game changer.

Remember Outline Settings
At the moment, any time I reopen the app the outline settings is reset. This is very annoying as some of the imported PDFs contain their outlines which I do not wish to see in my custom outlines. The settings should be remembered for each document.

enter a non done button
most folks put lecture notes into goodnotes folders. So it would be really cool to have a "not done" button as a way to label notes that the students haven't finished so they can easily find them if they want to go back to them.
The "not done button" is similar to the "favorite button", so it can be added easily

Fitting cover
I think you should add an option to fit covers to document sizes. I mean that I for example bought a few sets of covers for goodnotes app and even though they all should be in a4 format I just couldn’t get them to fit the regular template size or even the a4 template size. It’s either smaller or bigger than the notebook pages. There is always a difference in size. If Etsy has such a big market for digital content for your app and also different other sites I think you should add an option to make the notebook…
