Implement a splitscreen option.
The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.
We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar
You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

Also dedicate a separate page to the airplay will make it like a dual monitor app. Kind of ipad with extra screen.

This would be a killer feature for using Goodnotes when giving a presentation

Page curl allows you to see two pages at once with just slight flipping between the two pages. This can be done in portrait mode, so we can see in full page. In this case you don’t have to split the screen into two which makes texts smaller and have to do in landscape mode.

Please do it

Write with Apple Pencil and erase with finger would be a great option. Alternatively Nebo like crossing text within a few seconds of writing would be good and not cause accidental erasures

As a workaround, export a notebook as pdf and open in another app. Use GoodNotes in one split view

Is this still being developed? Any time frame? I am considering changing some of my notebooks to Notability so I can do two different ones side by side, but that would obviously not be ideal....

I am really looking forward to it! Please start it soon

That would be amazing if you dont have to switch between two document without seein them at the same time !

Newer user, love the app, do you have an ETa for the two page update?, thxs and keep up the good work!

This would be really valuable for those designing or using Good Notes as their digital planner. Portrait would give full page access by simply rotating the iPad. Landscape you would see two facing pages.
Just make it a setting that can be turned on and off for those who want the Sam page all the time.

Yes this would make goodnotes so so useful. I see my peer working on seperate sheets of looseleaf paper for their notes, which seems bulky, but they can have just the right notes by the problem their working on without flipping back and forth, and if split screen of the same document was available i could do the same thing without worrying about organzation.
Split screen of different documents would also be incredibly helpful when rewriting lecture notes into a more organized form.
This would make goodnotes so much more helpful! -

Ops, didn’t mean to flag the bellow comment. Just wanted to say that if you can open two different notebooks side by side it should probably be possible to open the same notebook twice an have I in split screen. Right? :-)

I would also love this kind of feature. I’d say that the most awesome way would be to being able to show two tabs at the same time in the same way that it’s possible in safari.

The you could choose to edit two different notes at the same time or have the same note opened in two tabs to edit different pages in it. -

It would be great if you could also use splitscreen within the same document.

I study CS and can approve that this would be very useful for solving exercises.
I currently have to create a separate sheet for exercises and another for the solutions; I have to constantly switch tabs. In the end, for exporting, I even have to manually merge the two documents.

I would love this feature. OneNote has something similar – at least on Windows: https://www.teachucomp.com/add-or-remove-note-space-in-onenote-instructions/
