Implement a splitscreen option.

The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.

We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).

With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.

How to open a new window:

You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:

- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar

You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

    When I'm writing with the pencil, sometimes the side of my hand selects text on PDFs, so I can't write unless I deselect. It would be great if there could be a toggle implemented so that text won't be automatically selected when you hold down on it.

    I currently use either
    1) screenshot and paste of the formula on previous page to current page
    2) you can change the scrolling to be downwards (continuous scroll) instead of sideways ... then you actually can see the previous page at the same time using goodnotes 5

    Please, please please do this soon, have been asking for years and will have to start using Notability if not and I love GoodNotes and would be a real shame. Many thanks

    学術書を読み進場合に、図や表のページと本文が同時に開けたら素晴らしい事です。これは至難のプログラムでしょう。次々にページが見開のも興味があます。
    そこまで行かずに、本文1ページと別にノートページを開くのも素敵です。
    Gnotes に入れた本をiBookにも入れて、見開くのも試みた事もありました。iPad Pro とMacBook Airで同時に開くのも試した事があります。一台で出来るようになったら、大騒ぎでしょうね！

    I second this, good notes is the best note taking app but adding split screen is like adding cheese to the hamburger, the app will be amazing

    Now the toolbar only can on the top or bottom.
    Could you let it on the left or right side?
    I'm a right hand righter, if I can use it on left side, it will makes me faster a lot at work.
    And I will appreciate you so much.

    It would be great to be able to edit shapes created by the shape tool (sometimes squares and rectangles angles aren't properly 90º). Instead of erasing and redrawing the shape it would be awesemome if you could edit the shape further by tapping on the corners...)
