More toolbar customisation
It would be good to be able to customise the toolbar since I’m sure there are features that some of us don’t use and could use the space for something else.
- Toggle which icons appear in the toolbar. Personally I never use and will probably never use the in-app camera and presentation mode. It would be great if there was an option to just turn those off.
- Allow the option to have more colour and pen size presets. 3 isn’t enough!
- When the zoom window toolbar finally returns, it would be great to have the same level of customisation.

Add a small, but expandable sticky note that can be placed in margins and uses the text zoom interface.
Often the pdf documents have ~1" margins and there have been paragraphs that I would either like to add my own commentary, create a small sketch of an idea, or note an idea related to the material. The margins aren't big enough to fit, but adding a whole blank notes page is too large (I use an iPad Pro).
I request a feature for having a color indicated "sticky note" that fits on either side of the margins and can be placed anywhere alongside it. Tap the little box, and the expanded note comes into view with various options for…

Sub-Outline in Outlines
When I import some PDFs their outlines are imported too. I love this feature. I have noticed that when this happens, the outlines have sub-outlines to make navigating the outlines easier.
However, I can not create this in my own GoodNotes outlines. It only works when I import a PDF that already has this structure built into it.
I would like to have a feature in GoodNotes where I can create sub-outlines in my notebooks.

Maths
would love to see more mathematics tools such as a ruler, a pencil compass, a real life scale on the paper, and maybe even a calculator within the app. Maybe a calculator you can move on the screen or click it with your finger to summarize an easy equation? I bought an iPad intending to only use your app for all of my notes when I go into college now, but unfortunately I do not see myself using this app for mathematics just yet. Pie charts, gifs and videos in the notes would also be very helpful. (I could for…

Create folders within notebooks
To be able to organise pages into sub folders 'within' each notebook would be very useful.
722 votesIn GoodNotes 5 we implemented the option to create infinite subfolders to replace the concept of “categories” in GoodNotes 4. Consider using multiple documents in a subfolders instead of adding everything to one notebook. If you want to further divide your notebook internally, you can use bookmarks or custom outlines to label your pages.

Use lasso tool to drag content to next page instead of having to copy/paste
I love using the lasso tool to move my handwriting around on the page. I also use the vertical scrolling feature to write my notes, but when I want to move text from one page to the next within the lasso tool, I can’t just drag it on. I have to copy/paste to the next page then cut or erase the text from the previous page. It’s a small thing, but a change that would improve work flow.

Full screen mode
The GUI has a lot of "lost space" - especially in landscape mode. Would be great to have the full screen for a sheet of paper with a rearrangeable toolbar. Would be extremely helpful for iPads with 9.7 or the upcoming 10.5".

Double-page viewing.
As a professional musician, GoodNotes is almost perfect for viewing and marking up sheet music both during rehearsals and performances! In my circle of friends and colleagues, GoodNotes is really becoming our go-to app! We unanimously agree that the only feature that is missing for viewing sheet music is the ability to view two pages at once (like an open book or in Mac's Preview "double-page viewing"). Is it possible that I'm just not seeing this feature?

We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the… -
Insert Video option
As teachers, we use this to take pictures of lessons on which we are working, allowing students to highlight and write on the photos. Students also create short presentations of their work, which we record. It would be awesome to be able to insert video into Goodnotes!

Enable Good Notes on the web so you can edit notebooks from a webpage on a computer
I would love it if there was a way to access notebooks online in a way that we could edit the organization of the notebooks. This could be in the form of a website where you can log in to access your notebooks, or maybe making a downloadable app/program for Windows.

More Text box capabilities
I would like more options on what you can do with the text box. Such as:
1) ability to have two different writing styles in the same text box (red and black, bold and regular)
2) An indent button
3) maybe even a whole different text box for bullet points, lists, and things of that sort464 votes -
Add more shapes such as semi circle, arc sectors etc.
The shape tool is amazing no doubt but it still lacks some major shapes. If you try to draw a semi circle by a quick stroke it converts it to a straight line, same goes for an arc. This is difficult while taking maths lectures as it requires a lot of shapes. Some shapes that don't work are: semi circle, arc, sector, parabola.
