More streamlined balpen for better handwriting
I would love an option for more smooth and streamlined handwriting like in procreate. I use GoodNotes mainly for handwriting and sometimes writing on an iPad can get a little wobbly

Lock the page from editing
- Reverting works for the whole document - even if I on the second page by reverting I can clean up the first one. It’s really annoying.
Would be nice to have reverting working for each page rather than the whole document
- By some accidental reverting or just inaccurate editing I can lose data or put some new edits I was not intended to but I won’t notice it right away.
Would be nice to have an ability to lock a page from editing or reverting

Strike off to erase
I really love the good notes app but the experience if often frustating when I'll have to erase something. I think if there is a functionality like strike to erase it will be of lot of ease , it has to be like I scribble on the text and the text gets erased

Tree
I suggest to add the tree view for single notebook, just like the “Microsoft OneNote”, now the GoodNotes is the best handwriting app, but it doesn’t have the tree view, I can’t organize content, please, thank you.

Quick toggle/gesture between ‘read-only’ and ‘edit’ modes
I would love to see a quick toggle (like the double tap on Apple Pencil) to easily change to and from read-only mode. Maybe a gesture like the two-finger double tap for ‘undo’. This would be very helpful for being able to click hyperlinks and quickly navigating a document with many pages.

Vertical reading, horizontal note taking
Hi, I’m a Uni student and often times have heaps of PDF photocopies to read.
I scroll horizontally to read them as they are often times photocopies of books.
Therefore I don’t want to ‘interrupt’ the flow of the document to insert a blank page to take notes on.
I figured that if you could keep scrolling vertically to read but on each page swipe horizontally to add a page next to it to take notes on it’d be a game changer.
Once you export the file all the horizontal pages would just tuck in behind the vertical one it’s attached to.

Cursor on Mac app
When zoomed out, the cursor for the pen becomes a plus sign, which is not very easy to write with... It would be easier if the cursor were just a dot when zoomed in or when zoomed out.

Inking Engine - Smoothing
Some tools like NotesPlus and Noteshelf seem to improve my handwriting so it is Smoother and more while other tools like GoodNotes don’t do this.
My writing seems to be more angular and ragged in GoodNotes.
I wonder if the authors of Good Notes have reviewed these other packages to get a sense of a different writing experience ?
Is this an area GoodNotes might address?

Print selected pages from pages overview & print without background
It would be awesome if the print feature could be expanded. Especially being able to print a selection of pages and being able to choose whether to include the background (as in the pdf export) would be super duper awesome!

Mac App: Select Text without need to deselect last selected Text
How about that?!
There seems to be a bug you didn't fix with your last update for the Mac.
When we select a text in a page, we have to click somewhere else to deselect it ON THE SAME PAGE IT WAS SELECTED and only then we can select Text in another page.
Sorry for the Caps, it's for emphasis on the problem.Assuming most are working with lecture slides, pages are not really pages but short slides with some text on them.

Dark Mode is very difficult to see on the Mac.
Can you make the menu item colors white so that they are more visible when using dark mode?

Flying toggle with colors
I use iPad 8th generation and the screen is small. So, when I use split screen with half side covering my book and other half with GoodNotes, the panel with colors and fonts disappear. So, I have to click on it again and again to change the colour.
It would be very helpful if there is a flying toggle with my colour options that I can shift here and there on my screen according to my convenience.
Also it will save me time of going to the top bar every time I need to change colours. It would also be helpful to those with big screens who find it annoying to approach top bar to change colors.

Overlay note like a real bookmark
Would be great, if you can create a bookmark, which you can write on and slide in like a real book mark in a journal.

Open Data Format for GoodNotes
I’ve just had a bad experience with NotesPlus in which the app has had a series of really bad software problems.
In looking for replacements, I am extremely worried about vendor lock in where the editable version of my data is locked away inside a black box.
My notes are just that, my notes, and reflect many hours of my life’s work.
Fortunately NotesPlus uses an open data format - a directory structure which includes document names and a tree of sub folders that hold each page of handwritten text as an SVG scalable vector graphics file which I can access and modify using other tools if I wish.
There is as such no lock-in to a proprietary closed database format.
With Goodnotes, the .notes files are encrypted binary and you cannot read them. All your notes are locked away.
Is it possible for Goodnotes to EITHER publish its file format as an open standard OR create an export option where open readable data formats are used (eg json and SVG ) ?
Note that PDF’s don’t go the full distance to what I’d like to see because the handwriting is not easily editable.
