I hope we can customize more pens and pens in more detail and add the ability to download brushes.
It would be nice if you could use more pens and customize them in more detail as you want, like a ProCreative app or a concept app. Also, if you don't have a pen you want, it would be nice to have a function to customize it yourself and export or import brush files separately, and you can pay directly in the market and use it, so it would be nice to add a function to download a brush.

Customizing Templetes (Grid Size)
This update would allow us to customize templates such as grid size and size ( for example make the dots on dotted paper larger). I think it would be a great and useful addition

Fix bug (or annoying new feature) of jumping to next page when scrolling.
Every time I (or my friends) scroll through a note, when entering the bottom of the page, it automatically scrolls forward to the center of the next page. Also when softly scrolling in zoom mode near the bottom or top.
This bug (I hope its not a feature) made me angry multiple times by now. GoodNotes is so unbelievably unusable at the moment, wow!Hope this gets fixed soon. Contact me if you need further technical information!

Grouped Page Management (Duplicate, Move, Export Multiple Pages at Once)
I’d love to see the ability to group multiple pages within a notebook and manage them as a unit — including the ability to duplicate, reorder, and export grouped pages.
This feature would significantly enhance workflows for users who work with planners, journals, or recurring templates. For example:
Duplicate a monthly set of pages (calendar, trackers, notes, etc.) to easily create the next month’s section in a planner.
Reorganize grouped sections (e.g., move an entire month or topic section to the front or back of a notebook).
Export a specific section as a PDF without manually selecting each page.
Apply edits or actions (like duplication or movement) to an entire group of related pages at once, saving time and improving organization.
Ideally, this could be implemented via a “select multiple pages” feature with an option to group them, or a tagging system that treats tagged pages as a unit for certain actions.
This would bring Goodnotes closer to desktop-level document flexibility, without sacrificing the intuitive flow of a digital notebook. Thank you for considering it!

Idea Goodnotes for Maths
As a mathematics teacher and a regular user of GoodNotes 6, I greatly appreciate how the app supports digital teaching and note-taking. However, during my daily use—especially in teaching complex concepts—I found that a few additional features would significantly improve the experience, particularly for educators like me:
1. Merge and Split Strokes: This would allow us to combine or separate drawn elements easily—very helpful when organizing mathematical constructions or diagrams.
2. Edit Stroke Properties After Drawing: It would be beneficial to tap on a stroke and adjust its style (e.g., dashed, dotted, solid) or thickness, which is essential when emphasizing different parts of a diagram.
3. Shape Fill with Opacity Control: I would love the ability to fill closed shapes with color and adjust the transparency using a slider. This would help greatly in visualizing areas, overlaps, and focus zones.
4. Advanced Drawing Tools for Educators:
* Basic shapes (circles, triangles, rectangles),
* 3D geometric figures (cubes, spheres, pyramids),
* Arrows and direction markers,
* Charts and graphs (for statistics and functions).
5. Insert Math-related GIFs: Support for inserting animated GIFs (e.g., rotating solids, function animations) would enrich my interactive teaching and make abstract concepts easier to understand.
6. Flip and Mirror Shapes: A "flip" or "mirror" function for diagrams would be incredibly useful, especially when demonstrating symmetry or transformations in geometry.
These features would make GoodNotes not only more powerful for teachers but also an incredible tool for interactive and visual learning. Thank you for building such a fantastic app—and I hope these suggestions can contribute to making it even better for the education community. As a mathematics teacher and a regular user of GoodNotes 6, I greatly appreciate how the app supports digital teaching and note-taking. to do list
ToDo list widget
ive seen many to do list requests but what would be really useful is a todo list widget on ios/android that's easy to update and i can easily check off things i already did.
I use goodnotes all day everyday and switching between goodnotes and a to do list app gets annoying, id rather have it all in once place!1 vote -
Custom the the toolbar while using the apple pen
It would be super nice to be able to add other function like the “delete” touch on the toolbar when you’re using the apple pen to write. Look at the pictures if you don’t know what I’m talking about

More audio recording playback speed
Please add 1.2x or 1.25x since 1.5x sometimes is too fast to catch up. Thanks!

Make Thumbnail View Narrower
the thumbnail sidebar is larger than I remember it. My iPad is on the smaller side so I find it irritating to use the app when the sidebar takes up a third of my entire screen. I know I can close it or switch it to windowed mode but I like having it open on the side to easily switch between pages.
Is there a way to make it smaller at all? Preferably so it’s only 1 page thumbnail wide instead of 2? Thanks!

Allow iOS speak screen accessibility feature to function
For my student with low vision and cerebral palsy, the speak screen function would be very helpful. Instead, it seems they will have to use another app. It is an unfortunate oversight to not have available in Goodnotes and it hinders access for people with disabilities.

Bugfix: Swipe to close on iPad scrolls the document
It is really annoying, that whenever i swipe up on my iPad to close Goodnotes, it also scrolls up the document. Please improve your touch detection to dismiss such swipes, so the document stays in place.
You see this issues in the attached screen recording, where the "I am here" text will scroll up when the dock gets shown through the swipe up from the very bottom of the screen action. It will also scroll the document further, when i move my finger further up to reveal all application windows.1 vote -

Attach audio to a word or phrase in a note (voice recording OR imported audio file)
Idea Description:
It would be incredibly useful to be able to attach audio to a specific word or phrase within a note. This audio could be:
• either a voice recording made directly within the app,
• or an imported audio file (such as a .mp3, .m4a, .wav, etc.) — not just a voice recording. When the user taps or clicks on the word, the corresponding audio should play automatically.
Why it matters:
Currently, GoodNotes allows for general voice recordings, but it is not possible to link a specific sound to a specific word, nor to import an external audio file and associate it with a word. This feature would open the door to interactive, multimodal, and educational note-taking.Requested Features:
• Allow linking a word or phrase to:
• a voice recording made in the app,
• or an imported audio file (not limited to in-app recordings).
• Enable playback of the audio upon tap/click on the word.
• Optionally show a small audio icon next to the word to indicate the presence of audio.
• Support multiple audio links on the same page or document.
• Provide an intuitive interface to add, replace, or remove audio.Use Cases:
• Language learning: Link a word to a native pronunciation audio file.
• Teachers: Create rich, interactive, audio-enhanced materials.
• Accessibility: Support users who benefit from audio-based learning.
• Revision and memorization: Reinforce concepts by associating them with sound.Idea Description:

Push Notifications for Edits in Shared Documents
Hi GoodNotes team,
I’d like to request a feature that allows users to receive push notifications when a collaborator edits a shared document—whether by adding, deleting, or changing content.
This would be incredibly helpful for those of us who use GoodNotes for group study, work collaboration, or project planning. At the moment, it’s difficult to know when changes have been made unless we manually check the document. A notification feature would make collaboration much more efficient and responsive.
Thank you for continuously improving the app!

Study set
I would love for the old function to classify a flashcard into different categories once I’ve tested myself (easy, difficult, very difficult, didn’t get it). Goodnotes used to have this option but it doesn’t have it anymore. I want a better spaced repetition algorithm for the study set.
When I use it right now, I have too many flash cards at once (the really easy one and the hard one all at once).4 votes -
Paint Bucket Color Fill
Similar to MS paint it would be useful to have a paint bucket tool that would fill a color inside the lines of a shape. Most of the functionality is already added with the shape fill color option, but for drawings that dont use it there is no efficient way to fill the space.
