Tab Sets
This is a feature request for some way of grouping and then loading documents as a set of tabs.
I have a bunch of PDFs, which I use for a number of different projects. If I'm working on a piece of software, it's valuable to have various manuals open (with or without notes). If I'm prepping for a week's worth of teaching, it's nice to have all of that week's materials laid out in tabs: slides, lecture notes, the readings for the week, etc. In most cases, I end up also loading up a GoodNotes notebook for sketches, notes, etc.

Sign-in iCloud from Goodnotes app to sync personal and work devices.
For the users who have their Goodnotes app on their personal devices and use Mac at work, it would be great to give them the option of signing in our personal iCloud account on the Mac from Goodnotes (instead of using the system iCloud account, which belongs to the company).
I could sign in Appstore with my personal Apple ID and download Goodnotes for free on my company Mac but I cant use it since it doesnt sync with my own iCloud account.

Integration with the Apple file system (the Files app)
I'd like the Goodnotes file system to be integrated with the Apple file system such that you could access all the .goodnote files in their relevant folders through the Apple files app. An example of a use case for this would be when transferring many pdfs into the app, a simple drag and drop or creation of folders and files in the Files app, would allow you to import many files or move them quickly.

The word you enter saves colors and fonts
The color and font and size of the word you enter should be preserved in a few ways like writing. instead of saving only one.

Palettes of colour to choose from (like in Procreate)
At first I wanted the Preset colours to be linked to a document.
Because I don't use the same colour for my pro notes depending on the client / subject. Then I realised that it wasn't much helpful neither since you change subject / colour style at least twice a day and you have to reset them every time you create a new notebook.
The easier solution would be to have different palettes (see attached doc) with different Names :
- a palette for my meetings with clients,
- another for my night courses
- another for my diary...and…

Shapes and connected arrows
The shape tool is nice but needs some tweeking/bug fixes
- shapes should a "first class citizen". Once drawn (or inserted) it should be able to resize, change colour and border thickness. Currently a drawn shape can be scaled and moved but never changed in any other way.
- sometimes I just want a box but ends up drawing something that isn't 90 degrees in all four corners. I have to undo and redraw and it just kills momentum
- when I erase hand written text inside a shape and then erase it, I also always erase the background fill.
- connected arrows. I'd…

Preserve outline in PDF during automatic backup
If you export a single document as PDF and set the setting to "Editable", the outline is preserved. The PDF's which are created by the automatic backup (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive) do not contain the outline, because they are saved as "Flattened". Please add an option to automatically save the documents as "Editable-PDF" in the cloud.
Alternatively, an option for a one-time backup of the whole library in GoodNotes to "Editable-PDF" would be a great option. At the moment the option "Backup Data" can only be used to create a backup in the Good-Notes file system.43 votes -

Note revision
I used your app for note-taking during class and creating final notes which I can review during exams. I think it would be a good idea to add a function where you have an "invincible" layer over your notes such that you can write down stuff without ruining the notes you made. It will be like a post it except that it is see through. It will work like photoshop where you can have different layers which you can show or hide.

the blue bar on the top
Please give us an option to choose dark/black color for the blue bar on the top! Or just make the blue bar black in a dark mode theme! It will look better that way!

Please improve...
- When viewing a book or document in landscape mode, make sure to view it two pages at a time.
- Open the outline (table of contents) in a pop-up window so that you can see it as the text. (Please fix the window so that it does not disappear when you touch a part of the table of contents.)
- In addition to bookmarking the page, please allow the user to bookmark the content of the text. (I wish I could see the list of bookmarks in the table of contents, and if you touch that part, please go to the text.)

Presenter tools
For the presentation mode, add invisibility for the following tools: the lasso dotted lines, the eraser area, notes and ink. For example, objects may be selected and moved without the audience seeing the dotted lines of the lasso tool. Or a fill in the blank page can be shown without the audience seeing the answers.

Preset to make opening a document while viewing 2 documents easier
When using ‘open in new window’, a preset functionality where you can choose to open a document with certain another document, or from another folder.
Ex I want to open notes w/ my textbook. But it is a pain to go to another folder to open my notes every time I change my textbook for another subject

Invisible dotted line lasso/selection tool
Make dotted lines of the lasso/selection tool invisible to a remote monitor or recording. This would give presenters the ability to live animate notes with motion, for example, in a physics lecture, to drag an object across the screen, illustrating constant velocity or acceleration, without the students seeing the dotted selection lasso.

Invisible ink for annotations
Similar to the other invisible ink request, but with a twist. An ink that only shows on the iPad, so that a person can create fill-in the blank notes that don't show the answers to people watching on a remote monitor, or freehand drawings live, drawing over previously created lines, giving the illusion to the audience or recording that the freehand drawing is being done from scratch. Kind of like a painting over light pencil marks, but in this case, the pencil can only be seen on the iPad, not on the monitor or quicktime recording that the iPad is…

Pen-only option for selection tool
The selection tool and eraser should have options for selecting only the highlighter or pen. This would allow speakers to "reuse" pages for live lectures (for example, in a zoom conference or youtube recording).

Add "delete page" to the "More" menu
Simplify the "delete page" feature by adding it to the More menu. This would make the deletion process much quicker, logical (and easier to remember).

Embed scanned document within the page
Allow embedding of scanned documents within the page - like we can do with images.
Sometimes we need to scan a paragraph of text and embed it within the notes. Taking a picture and embedding that instead doesn’t work because the text in the picture is not searchable.

Include an oblique or italic page template
I'd like to see a native page option lined for calligraphy, italics or drafting/art with oblique vertical lines. Now that I know how to import one (attached here from PrintablePaper.net) that's helpful too but I'd guess there are others I haven't even thought of who would also benefit from an oblique template.
