Hand writing recording
It is important to record hand written notes and the order the where taken in. For example when writing math notes, you can be working on a problem and write all around it with note or cross something due to elimination process of the problem. When reviewing the notes later on it can easily be confusing when the original problem has been marked up. That’s where stroke recording can come in handy. You can watch your process replay in front of you and see your own problem solving process. This is very important especially for students and STEM field workers

Using lasso tool over multiple pages
There are times where I’ve lasso’d a diagram that I’ve drawn or handwriting and I’d like to drag it to the next page but it won’t let you. You have to copy, paste and delete to get the same result

Enable blocking of notes / pictures / text, so it can‘t be accidentally edited (e.g. drawing a grid, then fixing it and editing only within)
You draw lines / insert pictures / etc. and then block further editing of those, so you can write and edit the text / notes within the blocked lines e.g.
- writing within a grid without having to pay attention to changing the grid

Change default title of Quicknotes to date/time instead of "untitled"
For the quicknotes, can the default name be the date/time they were made instead of just "untitled"

Accessibility issue: speak highlighted text in PDFs.
I have a brain injury that makes reading extremely laborious and stops me cold after a minute or so. I have a need to “read” and annotate PDF docs, but don’t want to use a different app to speak the text and GoodNotes to annotate. It’s too unwieldy even with multitasking windows because the text does not sync.

The different layers don’t print everytime!
EVERYTIME i print my page with foto’s and text, my photo’s are gone.. i Think its beceaus They are print in differt layers, I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING. Sometimes it works when i send myself it page for page, somethimes iT works when i frist put it in iBooks
Plessers find something for this, i neef it for school so bad!!!!!!

TextExpander integration
With a smart way integrating text snippets during handwriting with maybe kind of “tag bar style” where you can include your most used ones;

Customizable paper size as well as unlimited canvas
I found GoodNotes to be very versatile even for doing wireframes for mobile design. Although with the ever changing sizes, it would be great if we can customize the size.
GoodNotes is also the most smooth note writing app I’ve used. It would be great to have an option for unlimited canvas so I can use it for larger brain storming sessions.31 votes -

Language
Agnostic OCR, whatever languages
When make a notes, usually I pick the words that I have them the most easier to remember, in whatever languages.
As an Indonesian people, sometimes i use English, Indonesian, or even local language, whichever diction that the easiest for my brain to remember.
Maybe OCR per character would be able to implemented that, although not sure about mathematical equations which needed some symbols.Thank you.

palm rest, go to last page, indicate page number..
@GoodNotesApp plz. plz..add palm rest in horizontal scrolling.. otherwise no use in horizontal scrolling since it become very difficult to write in bottom of the page..,add go to last page and previous page option.. which are already present in goodnotes 4..

The search of GoodNotes should be integrated with spotlight
By integrating the search in spotlight, I can search for a word in all my files. For example for school I wanna know something about what I wrote down, but I don’t know anymore if I typed in GoodNotes or pages, I can find it within one search.

Create Sign in option if iCloud isn’t available
So I have been using GoodNotes for about two weeks on my company device, and earlier this week I tried to sync my information in iCloud. Well after an hour of attempting to turn on iCloud Drive, I researched my company guidelines to see if there was something going on with my device. Come to find out, my job prohibits the use of any cloud services to be installed on our devices (google drive, iCloud, Dropbox, etc) as a cyber security effort to keep company information safe. This was a huge bummer. The two weeks I spent creating & organizing my files was a waste of time, and buying a new Apple Pencil was a waste of money. There’s no way I’d be able to keep my information after I return my device... So all that to say, I wish there was a sign in feature for GoodNotes to be able to access my documents, rather than limiting it to iCloud sync. I really live the app! But right now there’s no point in continuing to use it if I won’t have access to it a year from now.. :(

Screenshots and image organization (losing track of used images)
Hard to explain...
I use alot of screenshots, from textbooks and quizzes for studying..
When i need to add those screenshots to a page, i lose track of which image ive already added when the thumbnails are all the same.Think of a way to keep an eye on recently used images..
Maybe a check mark or weird highlight if the image is already used in the document.I really dont know, but being able to see which screenshot i just used in a pile of 25 nearly identical shots is rough.
