PDF to Sepia
My main use of GoodNotes is to read academic whitepaper PDFs and annotate them. I'd really like it if I could convert the white backgrounds to a sepia tone to make them easier on the eyes. iOS Night Shift changes too much in my opinion. It'd be awesome if there was a way to naively just change every pixel of one color to another color, say white -> sepia, black -> gray, white -> black, etc.

Shift document view off-center for handwriting
I do understand that it makes sense for the document to pop back into central view when dragging to the side, but when handwriting at the document’s edge, this becomes an annoyance.
How about a new action/feature where the documents still pop back into central view under normal circumstances, but when the user really drags the document far off to the side, the document stays there at the side of the screen. Now the user can handwrite comfortably, with his hand resting on the black part (background) of the screen, and the document on the other side of the screen.…

Import PDFs making possible to take notes next to it in the same document
In Microsofts OneNote its possible to import a PDF in a way that there is space next to every page of it. I really miss this in GoodNotes as this is a great feature to really work with texts an take a lot of annotations, event though there is no free space in the PDF. This would work great using landscape mode!

I am a Maths teacher from Vietnam. I love technology. About 2 years ago, I came across your Goodnotes application, which was the number one paid application in AppStore and I felt lucky that I bought it. I got excited and engrossed in your app at the very first time I used it. I work with Mathematics problems very frequently. When using Goodnotes, the problems become much easier and more intriguing. I learned a lot from these and thanks to it, my students got many prizes in local competitions. I wrote a “long essay” to you in the reviews section…

resume the previous handwriting improvement algorithm
the latest version of goodnotes seem to have made a little bit of change on the handwriting improvement algorithm to make the end of the writing thicker, which makes it less comfortable. Also, there is more delay of the writing. Please resume the previous algorithm.

Annotations
Sometimes I'm forced to use PDF Expert when annotating PDFs, because I can get a summary of the annotations. Hope you can add to GoodNotes, then I'll be able to use it all the time.

Sizes
You should add the possibility to view files’ and folders’ sizes in the goodnotes app. Also, you could add pages counter to see the total amount of pages in a certain notebook and which page we’re viewing (page 15/20). Also, you could add the possibility of viewing on the home page the total amount of notebooks in the app.

Imported images turn out to have bag quality
The quality of imported images is really really bad! I can‘t read it sometimes or annotate anything because it has so many pixels.

resize written area in order to be able to write next to it on the empty space
The written area, for example, can be resized (e.g. text field previously over the whole page, afterwards only on the left side). That would make it possible to write or take notes next to the previous text field without having to move the sentence parts individually so that there would be some space to take notes again.

Document hierarchy improvement
Okay so they did hierarchy but its kind of a pain to navigate. If you have many folders and are in one of the deeper folders you must keep pressing the back button until you get to your desired document. There should be a menu button (for instance near the Bookmarks button) that could be accessed to easily get from one document to another.

Horizontal only or Vertical only resizing!
You should be able to resize your selection horizontally only or vertically only. Sometimes I want to make something wider or taller and can’t. I have to just increase it in the 1:1 proportion. Please add this feature! Thank you!

gridlines in zoom feature.
Allow the zoom feature to have gridlines or writing lings (horizontal only) (decided by the writer) in the zoom box even if the document is blank; this will make annotations neater (as they will be following straight lines). This would improve annotations massively.

Calligraphy mode for headers
(This is not about adding a calligraphy pen itself.)
I suggest adding a calligraphy mode, that similar to the app Over lets you type something and convert it to a nice style.
This makes it possible to create good-looking headers easily without having to be a pro.5 votes -

When you copy and paste it paste incomplete because it doesn’t fit in the page and part of it is hidden, it can be better...

Red sheet
Red sheet is unique to Japanese vocabulary books. As you know from the video, if you can use this sheet, it is definitely way easier to memorize various things such as vocabulary.

Add "Search" to menu when selection contains handwritten word(s)
When hand written text is selected, it would be a great feature to be able to perform a search on the selected text withou having go thru the sequence: convert->copy->open search->paste.

if support text-overflow.. it will help in copying multiple pages from web to goodnotes in one go.

Selection Tool - Separate Rotation
One of my most used tools is the selection tool.
However when resizing, it also rotates the selection which is really annoying.
Would prefer if rotation occurred through pinching or separate box in another corner.
Also add the Rectangular Selection.
